Re: Monster Rancher
"Hm? Name's Ruhiel, and don't worry about it, your reaction's perfectly normal." I then look up to the sky "As for guns, well, without going into technical details guns are long range weapons that fire small metallic projectiles at an incredibly high speed." I take a deep breath to calm myself "Also, thanks for offering to help us learn to use weapons...Although I'd rather not use one unless I have to."

"Well in this world it's better to able to use a weapon and not need it then not knowing how to use one and need it. anyway did you happen to see if that merchant had any BO staffs or swallows? i'm quite proficient with either one. and that's interesting this gun...sounds like bows and arrows. or sling shots."

Re: Monster Rancher
"oh, so ya are a BO user? I got something that might interest ya then"
Jean said leaving the group and throwing the sword and knifes to the floor as if they were nothing. a minute and several digging sounds, the merchant came back with two wooden staffs and threw one at gabriel.
"my father made these when alive, and taught me how to craft them before dying"
Jean made a few desmostration swings and then spinned the two edges in opposite directions to split the staff in two and swing the improvised twin swords a few times before joining them back together in one piece
"they are really useful and I have several of them in case I find people interested in learning my family style"

His eyes widened as a grin appeared.
"Now that IS interesting, I think I might take you up on that offer, but one question if I may. Do you happen to have any the length of a quarter staff? If you don't that's fine. Just talking about reach is all. What kind of wood do you use, oak?"

Re: Monster Rancher
As I was talking with Gabriel I was surprised to see Jean pop out of nowhere like he did, either he'd followed me or he has very good ears because I'm sure I walked more than a few meters away from the clearing where is cart is. "Where'd you pop out from? I'm pretty sure I was far enough not to be heard..." after a few seconds I shrug and then watch Jean make a few swings with the staff he was holding, apparently making them was a family business of sorts.
I then get up and tap on Jean's shoulder to get his attention "Not to prevent you from making a few trades Jean, but I'd like to bring out a rather important question...What the hell are we gonna do? Personally I'd like to get moving before nightfall, another point to remember is that those creatures from earlier were searching for a disk...Where do you think they'll look for it when they don't find one there, hm?" I say as I cross my arms, looking at the group.

(sorry, I thought that since you returned you weren't so far)
"I'm sorry, my family only make them in one size. I'm used to work with satinwood and my personal staff is made of mesquite. My great grandfather used to make pockenholz and bulloak staffs and I still have a pair of his for sale, but they are one of my most expensive weapons due it's quality"
Jean said to gabriel when ruhiel tapped his shoulder and spoke...
"I don't really have problems. I sell monster goods too so most of them just let me pass. I wanted to make sure you guys were protected in case I had to abandon ya and continue my selling journey... nothing personal, but bussiness are bussiness"

Re: Monster Rancher
Perking up as Ruhiel spoke, Drake made his way over.
"True, business I can understand, but Ruhiel does bring up a good point. Whether or not we decide on a plan now, we should still get moving to the nearest town. Once there, if your willing Axe, we switch what wagon your using. We'd still keep the horses and all your wares of course, but we'll just put them with the new wagon.
Doing that, if those riders follow our trail, they'll meet a dead end with the empty wagon in the town. That'll give us more time to make some distance."
He then turned to Ruhiel. "I know you don't wish to wear cotton clothes, but would a traveler's cloak be alright? If those riders are following us, most likely they didn't get a very good description of us, hopefully. Wearing a cimple cloak and bit of head-ware should do the trick, it'll make it harder for people to pick us out of a crowd."
He turned to the last one, the person he had upset. His faced gained an apologetic look.
"Look, about earlier... sorry, I didn't mean for it to come off like that. I didn't know about your father so..." He shoook his head. "We got off on the wrong foot, my name is Drake. Good to meet you, despite the circumstances."

Gabriel grinned when he seen the BO staff that Jean was demonstrating. then looked over at Drake when he apologized to him. "Ah it's ok i didn't expect you to know, i mean you guys just got here. i was just having a moment there. anyway nice to meet you too i'm Gabriel...so tell me more about this world you guys are from. sounds interesting." he then turns to Jean "how much for that staff?"

Little Hansel had no idea how he got here. ONe minute the young boy was playing a game, the next he was here in this trance place, away from anyone who could protect him, he wasn't exactly physically strong after all. That was most likely why the little guy was keeping out of sight, watching the others from a distance. He didn't know who they were, what would stop them from hurting him if they caught sight of him.

Re: Monster Rancher
Seeing as repairs were made, Drake smiled. He chuckled when Gabriel asked about his world.
"Alright, though we should probably get moving, I can tell you some things as we move. Ruhiel can help too, if he wants." He sent his fellow other-worlder a quick side glance, before looking at the 3 around him in turn.
"There is one thing I've gotta do first, I'll be right back." Turning around, he shortened the distance to the wagon with his long stride. Something else had been bothering him, besides the obvious. It wasn't until the last bit of the conversation that he realised what it was. There had been 3 people sucked into this world, and with Axe and Gabriel, that made 5 people in the group. Yet only the afformentioned 2, Ruhiel and himself had talked, so where was the last one? In the wagon most likely.
Learning from earlier though, Drake decided on being a little more subtle this time round. Climbing into the back, he scanned around till finding something round, covered in a sheet.
'Bingo.' He thought with a small shake of his head. Moving some of Axe's wares around, to give the pretense of looking for something, he leaned close to the bundle, taking out his wallet at the same time.
"Look, I know your there, but you don't have to worry about us, I'm not going to reveal you." His voice was nary a whisper, soft enough he could barely hear it himself.
"You're not the only one who got brought here, so you're not alone in this. You're probably scared, and that's okay. All I'll say is this, it'll probably be better if you revealed yourself soon, on your own terms, right? Either way, none of us are going to hurt you, so for the moment, your safe with us."
With that done, he stood up then jumped out the wagon, wallet in hand. Walking back to the others he held it aloft, responding to the questioning glances with a smile.
"Sorry bout that. Realised I was missing this, lucky it was still in the wagon underneath some things."

"Huh? Oh, sure I don't mind wearing something over these." I then stay quiet after my reply until Drake says that I could help Gabriel learn about our world if I wanted to "Of course, Gabriel if you ever have questions about our world don't hesitate to ask." I say with a smile which I switch for a curious expression when Drake goes rummaging through the cart before returning with his wallet held above his head "Your...wallet? Meh." I shrug.

(sorry I had to ask the DM for the world's currency)Heero wrote:"how much for that staff?"
"if it wasn't because of that pseudo-apocalyse my father would normaly ask for 300 to 500 gold coins for my staffs and 1m for my great gramp's, but since it happened I'm asking for 25 pieces of gold for mine and 1k for the old man's. Open for offers of course"
Jean said before noticing drake going to his chart and returning with his wallet. He knew drake was lying, after all, several years of selling taught him to recognize liers and bulges on buyers's pants, but said nothing since he saw drake didn't stole anything

Gabriel reached in his coin purse and withdrew 25 coins. " Here ya go. this is a fine BO indeed." swinging it around a few times flourishes it and finishes off with a strike to the ground. "yeah this will do just fine."

Noah winced lightly when a voice spoke up, telling him to come out and that he would be safe. The young teen remained quiet, still a little nervous until he heard the person slowly climb out of the cart and walk away. The blonde remained in hiding for a few minutes, thinking about this. Well, he wasn't dragging him out, so maybe he was being honest.
He crawled out from under his sheet, poking out of the cart to see the others. Shakily, he climbed out of the wagon., walking towards them, looking down nervously. "H-Hello."

Jean happily inspects three times the coins, each time with a wider grinn. it was good to have business. then, a shy mouse in human disguise came out of his chart and nervously greet them
"oh, so that was the lie about... meh, doesn't seem to worth it"
said the merchant as he went to his chart and started setting it up for a travel
"so, drake, when do we leave? I'd rather be safe than sorry for abandoning ya to a bunch of bersekers"

Re: Monster Rancher
While Drake was surprised that the last person was in fact a kid, he smiled nontheless at being able to help him out. He gave the kid a kind smile, with a slight nod, absentmindedly noting Jean walk over to the wagon.
"Hey. Nice to meet you, my name is Drake." He meant to talk further but Jean's question immediately drew his attention.
"Oh." He turned to the lad with a quick apologetic look. "Sorry kid." Turning back to Jean he gave the merchant a much more serious look.
"Well, personally, I'd rather leave as soon as you're all set there. I don't know how much daylight we have left, but the sooner we get to the nearest town the better." He turned back to the kid whom had yet to speak his name, gave him another reassuring smile before turning to Gabriel and Ruhiel, the former wielding his new bo-staff with a smile.
"What about you guy's? You feel the same?"

Re: Monster Rancher
After a while I notice movement from Jean's cart as a small figure got off from the cart, said figure then timidly made its way to us and spoke. I couldn't help but find the boy' shyness funny, this caused me to smile as I replied "Hey there, nice to meet you, I'm Ruhiel." I turned to Drake when he asked for my and Gabriel's opinion "I agree with you, the less time we spend idle here the less chance I have to learn how to use this spear in the middle of a real fight." raising said spear for emphasis as I talked.

Gabriel watched as the newcomer made his way over to them and grinning "Hi buddy what's your name? i'm Gabriel." then turning his attention to the others "Yeah that would be best any minute now those monsters could be here and i don't care to soil my new BO staff with their blood."

He felt a little better that they all seemed friendly. "M-My name is Hansel," he said shyly, looking over them. It seemed they were discussing going to the nearest town. Definately sounded like a good idea. Then one of them mentioned monsters and blood. Hansel's face instantly paled.
"M-Monsters? There are really monsters about?" he backed away, frightened.

Re: Monster Rancher
I sigh after seeing Hensel's face go pale " Don't worry, if anything happens we'll be there protect you, alright?" I say to Hansel with a smile, trying to reassure him, of course I wasn't sure if I could actually protect the kid from anything, but I'd rather avoid having him freak out and/or start crying and increase the chances of something hostile finding us.
