(Couldn't post this half 'cause my mother pulled me into her wacky adventures)

--MEANWHILE--

Before either Assassin or Ruecian could respond, someone arrived with speed comparable to a lightning's, bringing forth a gust of wind which blew the skirts of the two Mamono up and knocked a male student off his balance. Assassin, with his heavily-trained eyes, caught a complete glimpse of the monsters' undergarments. The hooded person slightly smirked at the fortune that had blessed his eyes but quickly wiped it off in fear of being caught.
Phantom77 wrote:"What's going on here? Sir, aren't you a cafeteria worker? Why do you have a weapon? That's not all Lisia, I'm sure he has explosives on him too. I can smell it."
The Jinko confronted Assassin who only kept quiet and faced Anri in turn. It was Ruecian who spoke up for him but what the swordsman said made him look at the Zipanguese. Assassin's cover story was he was to be some sort of performer in the festival, the gunpowder and weapons were props for the act. Why the swordsman decided to tell a lie instead of the truth was beyond Assassin. The cover story seemed to be bought at least but now Assassin had bought another set of problems.
Phantom77 wrote:"I vouched for you, so try to stay out of trouble alright? After the ceremony I'll track down the Wanderer and see if he can help with Peter. Or if you're lucky you might be able to find him yourself."
With that, Ruecian left with Henry to the reception. Assassin sighed and shook his head at the turn of events but it could not be helped.

Since he was not going to monitor Peter and the trial was surely going to be announced, Assassin wondered what he could do to pass the time. Looking at the group heading for the ceremony, Assassin shrugged and followed. His arsenal may make someone nervous but he figured he'll just Ruecian's cover story.

WordPlay wanted to decline the Wanderer's offer of beverage. However, he soon realize that he is quite parched and would've killed someone for a glass of water. The vigilante accepted the gesture and moved his own masked upward slightly to drink the cool beverage. With his jaw, chin and mouth vulnerable, the Wanderer could see the severe burnt flesh of the vigilante that covered his mouth. WordPlay drank the entire cup within seconds before placing the cup down.

"Alright, I'm in. As long as I keep killing Ordeites, I don't give a damn who I work with.", he stated to the Wanderer, "Although, I find it curious about how you know about the deal that Rielle offered. Makes a guy real curious.", he commented. "What exactly that you need me to do?", he asked the cloaked figure.

As she walked through the streets Emilia nearly froze in place when someone suddenly called out to her saying that she looks lost, she turned to that person and saw two women, after Emilia turned to them one of the two women noted that, apparently, Emilia had heterochromia too. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath that seemed almost like a sigh Emilia spoke "Yes, I am quite lost. More than I'd prefer to admit in fact." she stated, normally she would not be blabbering about her being lost to random strangers, but these two seemed friendly enough and at the moment she feels that it might be worth it to be a bit more open about things. Of course she was still wary, after all someone might want to take advantage of her lack of memories.

"Oh. Well then, let's start with names then." Haruka cheerfully said. "Haruka Daidouji from Zipangu, a pleasure to meet you!" The Nekomata bowed.
"And I'm Wang Jiyi from the Mist Continent. A pleasure to meet you too." The Hinezumi bowed next.

"And you are?"

"She said I think I'll go to Boston,
I think I'll start a new life,

Throne Room
-----------------

The rulers of the realm were pleased by the architect's words. Though he was not of noble birth, Tibrus's bond to the royal family was stronger than most and he was like second family to them.

The Queen listened intently as the architect gave his description of the three warriors participating in the tournament.
Creator_Drake wrote:"Hmm. To start with, the lad from Heide, is a swordsman of some renown, known as the Dark Swordsman as he can utilize a version of darkness that doesn't corrupt the user from what I understand. As for his character he seems like one that sticks to his beliefs but is willing to be helpful at times. He's intelligent and was quite inquisitive when I gave him the tour to the Mural Hall. Overall, both before and after speaking with the lad nothing about him has rubbed me the wrong way as of yet. We'll learn more as the days pass." He paused a moment, idly scratching a spot on his forearm.
The description of Henry gave the Queen a rather positive image of the man. "I see, I would expect nothing less from one of Heide's distinguished fighters. I've heard tales of his family's valor in days past, I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed. Perhaps we will see more from him at the tournament." She gave time for Tibrus to continue his explanation.
Creator_Drake wrote:"That other lad, Ruecian, is another that I've gotten the chance to speak with for a time and like Sir Henry, nothing has tipped me off to something being wrong. Like his Majesty the lad is a Rayearth, though of what specifically I've yet to see. He holds the nickname Ghost of Arcana which could give an idea to his abilities. The way the lad walks reminds me of Lord Seijin before he left for his homeland of Zipangu." His eyes then widened in realization and snapped his fingers.
"The Ghost of Arcana? I think I've heard of that name before. But You say he reminds you of Lord Seijin, how so?" The Queen perked up as Tibrus gave more information on the merc.
Creator_Drake wrote:"Which reminds me, the lad had asked about his whereabouts yesterday as we spoke; seems Lord Seijin has taken on an apprentice in the last few years. Anyway, both swordsman appear of good character so I don't believe either would bring harm to the kingdom.
The Queen's eyes widen at the words of the architect, and the King gives a small squint as he listens. Queen Brunhilde runs a hand down one of her bangs before speaking. "You mean to tell me that this man, who we know to be nothing more than a common mercenary, is the apprentice of one of the kingdom's greatest heroes? I understand that Lord Seijin took his leave of the kingdom sometime ago for personal reasons, but you say that during the time he decided to make a disciple out of some commoner who lacks even a surname? I mean no disrespect to either of the men, but I must admit, I have my doubts.

Reinhardt begins to speak after sitting up in his chair. "So, it's true after all, the master has chosen someone to pass his art to.I had heard various rumors about Ruecian's exploits across the lands, but I wasn't sure at first. However, hearing the details about what is known about the mercenary's skills, I have to say that they all sound similar to Seijin's feats. If this is correct, then I can't say that I'm surprised. Now I want to see his skills first hand even more. At any rate, I digress. You were about to talk about the Cloaked Wanderer?"
Creator_Drake wrote:As for the Wanderer..." He ran a hand through his hair, scratching the back of his head. He then let out a sudden chuckle, possibly surprising the King and Queen a bit.

"If that robbed man truly is the Cloaked Wanderer as I know him, then Zauberheim is now host to one of the most powerful of figures in the land. I mean no disrespect my King, but the Wanderer could match you at your full strength from the height of the Daemon Crusades, with the latest iteration of your armour." He then gazed at one of the banners overhead, his eyes losing a little focus.

"It's been so long since that day, yet I can see it now as if it were yesterday..."
The King chuckled soon after Tibrus, his description of the Cloaked Wanderer amused him a little. "Is that a fact? Perhaps we'll have to test that after the tournament has concluded. I've heard very few rumors about the fellow, but of course they weren't enough for me to build a concise picture of the man. I see that my choice of warriors this year was well-founded if I do say so myself." Reinhardt noticed the architect staring at one of the banners in the room, reminiscing about days long past.

"Ah yes, the armor you constructed for me served me well, particularly against the more dangerous foes. I sometimes wonder what my father and Lord Seijin would have thought of my accomplishments, would they have been proud or pleased with my actions? I've done my best to keep relations between the factions peaceful and orderly, but sometimes I don't think it's enough. There has been much civil unrest as of late and there are rumors of rebellion. The incident last night is by far the worst, I've been a foolish ruler and a poorer father."

Queen Brunhilde noticed more than any how the recent times affected her husband. His spirit waved quite often and he was always on edge. She of course did everything in her power to comfort her king, but something was wrong. "Now, now. I'll hear no more of that talk. All matters, save Peter, have been settled. As king, you shouldn't let silly rumors and gossip waver your mind. You are the greatest ruler and father that I know, and I know that father and Lord Seijin would be proud of you exploits - both as a king and as a warrior."

The King made a small smile at his wife's words, he appreciated her sincerity greatly. "You are too good to me, my Queen. Forgive me, Tibrus, I should not spoil the mood with such talk. Tibrus, I thank you for entertaining my wife's inquiries; if you are done then you may take your leave and head to the Citadel to finish preparations."

At that, a mage in royal robes appeared out of a magic circle, who was prepared to take the architect back with him to the Luminous Citadel. "Is your business finished here, Milord? There is still more work to be done."

Reinhardt then rises from his chair. "My queen, I must prepare for today's events, I trust I will see you in the Citadel this evening?" With a nod, the Queen acknowledges her husband's statement. "Farewell, for, my Queen. Tibrus, I leave it to you!"

South District Prison
------------------------

A guard who was sent to retrieve a certain student makes his way through the holding cells. These cells were meant to hold prisoners who currently await trial or judgment, something young Peter Culiar was here for. The young lad had been framed for rape by the daughter of the Sivana house. Thankfully, the Queen in her wisdom and mercy, spared the young man from immediate death and scheduled a trial for him - one that she herself will be present for.

The guard had arrived in front of Peter's holding cell; he looked at the boy's face while he sat on his bench. The student looked as miserable as one could be, it almost seemed the boy had lost the will to live and had given up hope. One could see the dried tear-trails on the boy's face, it was a rather pitiful site to behold. The guard reached into his pocket and pulled out the keys to the cell, unlocking the door soon after.

"Peter Culiar, by order of the Queen, you are required to stand trial for your alleged crime against the Sivana house. Come with me and I'll escort you to the chamber."

The gaurd motioned for Peter to follow. Soon the two would be on their way to the trial site where Peter's fate would be determined by a court of elected officials and a small jury.

-------------------------
Ceremony Reception
-------------------------

Lisia and her friends arrived on time to the ceremony reception at the school. In roughly 15 minutes the students would walk across the stage and receive their marks of graduation within their respective studies. Many senior students were gathered for the ceremony, however, only a selected amount who have already been determined would be participating in this year's tournament.

Felicie looks around and sees many familiar faces among the crowd. Many of them boys she's hit on in the past and female students whose boyfriends she's nearly stolen. " I wonder which of these mooks will be part the competition after the ceremony. It'd be interesting to fight all those girls I pissed off earlier this year, teehee!"

Anri sighs and shakes her head before speaking. "Only you would be excited by that. If you're not careful, one of them will take you by surprise and knock you out in the first round." Felicie tensed up at her jinko friend's remark. "Whatever, you should be the one that's worried, Little Miss Kitty. I bet you're still thinking about that black dragon bitch you almost bested you in a mock battle in P.E! " Anri began growling at the vampire's snide retort before being stopped by the princess.

"That's enough you two. This is an important day for all of us and for the academy, so try to act professionally just this once." Felicie and Anri both folded their arms and looked the other way, having been scolded by the princess as always. Luke tries to start conversation to lighten to mood. "So Lisia, are you ready for your graduation speech?" Lisia turned to Luke with a smile. "Yes, I had prepared it several days in advance; it's always good practice to plan ahead!"

Lisia then speaks to Brandon, who had been rather silent when not being directly addressed. "I'm glad that you decided to come with us today, Brandon. I hope that your future in the arms industry is bright. And I'm sure you'll do well in the tournament later on. Although I warn you, you may end up fighting me, hurting you chances at victory!" Lisia playfully smirked at the boy who is slowly becoming a part of the group. Before, he would never have decided to even greet his fellow students, let alone socialize and walk with them to school.

As the students spoke, the Head Master appeared in the room. All of the students quieted down at the sight of the man. He had a very regal appearance that suited a man of his standing. With a cough his cleared his throat and began to speak. "Welcome to all graduates on this fine and pivotal day. First of all, let us pray that Peter Culiar is given the chance to graduate along with all of you and is cleared of all charges. Let us give our hearts out to the poor boy. Now then, it is a very important day indeed. It is the day you all take your marks of magical studies and go on to make something of yourselves in today's society. For a few years now, you have diligently studied and trained your bodies, minds, and souls for this coming day. For a select group of you have earned the right to participate in this year's tournament; giving you a chance to showcase all you've learned throughout your school career and impress potential connections/employers. But all of that is secondary. For you see, way this day truly represents in the beginning of the rest of your lives. It presents a chance for new beginnings and opportunities to re-invent yourselves. But most importantly, It gives you the opportunity to embrace your dreams and to reach new point where no person has reached before. YOU are the future; it is you all who will build a bridge to new beginnings.

Lisia dawn a warm smile at the Head Master's words. Anri smiled with her eyes closed and Luke became teary-eyed. Felicie tried her best not to laugh, as she often did when the Head Master gave one of his monologues. She always found them to be corny and cliche. After giving his speech, the Head Master adjust his large glasses before speaking again. "That's enough from me, it's time for you all to walk. But first: Lisianthus von Zauberheim, Your Highness!" Lisia straighten up at her called name. "Sir!!" The Head Master beckon the valedictorian to come up. "You must give your speech to start the event, please take the stage."

Her friends waved to cheer her on as she made her way to the stage. "Good Luck", they all said in unison as they waved to the princess. When Lisia got to the podium, she look at the crowd, which consisted of the parents and family members of the students. Teachers and faculty members could also be seen in their assigned seats. Much to her disappointment, she could not make out her parents in the seats. She figured that her mother would be dealing with Peter's case, but there was no sign of her father the king. Despite this, she goes on to give her speech.

(I'll leave her speech to your imaginations, as I don't feel like writing out a graduation speech.)

The Head Master turns to the students as the princess is about to close her speech. "All right, I hope you are all prepared. You will be called in alphabetical order of your surnames. Congratulations to all of you for your hard work!"

----------------------
Reception Balcony
----------------------

As Rue and Henry made their way to the balcony, Rue decided to entertain Henry's question about the hooded man. Rue also noticed the hooded man decided to watch the ceremony along with them.

"I wouldn't say that. I just know him from yesterday. It's hard to figure out what to make of him as he's always silent; the most I can make out is that he has a strong connection to Peter Culiar, the student currently about to stand trial for being accused of rape. I just wanted to make sure he didn't cause any trouble trying to take Peter by force. Hence that ridiculous lie I made up on the spot."

The two swordsman made their way to the balcony in time to hear the princess's speech. Rue stands toward the ledge as he watches. The two are caught off guard by the sudden voice however "Hmm, you know, I believe that girl will make a fine ruler one day. She seems to be growing into the role rather well, wouldn't you two agree?

The merc turns to see that it is none other than Reinhardt himself. Contrary to Lisia's initial observation, her father had made it to the reception after all. Rue decides to greet the King, who presence nearly caught him by surprise.

"I see Your Majesty has made it to the event. I'm sure your daughter will be pleased." Reinhardt walks forward toward the ledge as well, viewing her daughter give her speech and seeing the students receive their marks. "Yes I'm sure she will, as I'm sure she will enjoy fighting against the apprentice of the legendary Seijin." Rue's eyes formed into a sharp glare at the King's words.

"You know? Did Tibrus tell you? I didn't think I gave him any clue as to who my master was. Very astute of you." The King smiled at Rue while listening to the students having their names called. "He could tell from the way you walked and your mannerisms. It wasn't hard for him to piece two-and-two together, and I had heard rumors about your exploits that made me wonder. Now I know for certain! Tell me, how is the old goat? I often wondered how he had fared in his time away from the kingdom.

Rue made a small sigh as he told the King what he knew. "I actually don't know, as it has been several years since I've seen the man myself. I went to find in Zipangu one day and I saw that he was nowhere to be found. A little while after that I was called to your kingdom for this assignment, and I was hoping I could find clues to his whereabouts here" Reinhardt rubbed his chin at the merc's explanation.

"I see, that's unfortunate. Although, I'm sure a man of his skill is doing quite fine. I'm sure he'll turn up eventually, in the meantime relax and enjoy the festival. I trust you both are prepared for the tournament, just don't be too rough on my daughter and her friends? Rue slightly bowed at the King's request. "I never intended to do so, Your Majesty."

---------------------
Luminous Citadel
--------------------

The man in black ventured into the Citadel, exploring the inner working of the establishment. As the top was where the tournament was being held; he noticed that the stairways leading to the roof were blocked off. He decided to pull someone who had the look of an official to the side to ask him about the event.

"Beg your pardon sir, but who is overseeing the events here?" The young worker was covered in soot from the multitude of spell-casting; trying to ensure the integrity of the barrier. "Why 'tis Lord Tibrus Heatherman of course! Folks 'round here know that the man oversees most of all architectural design and planning for city-wide events, you new here, sir?"

The cloaked man chuckled at the young man's response. "In a way yes, tell me, may I speak with Sir Tibrus?" The worker adjusted his visor helmet, covered in black spots, as he prepared a response. "'fraid the man isn't here right now, he went to speak with the King. But he should be gettin' back in a spell. I'll let him know you asked for him, sir! If you'll excuse me, I've a job to do."

The man in black watches the young worker as he buys a drink to refresh himself before heading back to the roof. He then stares off into the distance, as if reminiscing. "How many years has it been? So many things have happened since those days."
There is nothing more beautiful than a warrior with no distractions. One could say he is the closest thing to God

Peter thought Zauberheim was an entirely righteous kingdom. He thought its people stood for justice and despised any sort of malevolence. Assassin kept warning him otherwise, that not everything is pure, but he did not listen. Now he did. He saw how his naivety let him be fooled. Be imprisoned. Be yelled at and demonized by fellow prisoners. Be beaten up by the more ruthless guards. Be something lower than roaches for a crime he did not commit.

The student's right eye was severely busted thanks to the aforementioned beating. He could still feel it and he was pretty sure it was going to heal in time. A long time. Bruises were everywhere on his body and he was fairly certain at least one of his rib bones were broken when a particularly large guard slammed his massive boot against his chest. Peter cried out during that time but every single one who could hear them savored it for it was 'justice'.

But despite all that, Peter still believed. Believed that in the end, true justice will prevail and his life will be back to normal. Mostly normal as he ran a hand upon his broken eye. "Guh!" The pain made Peter realize that was a bad idea. He heard there was going to be a trial for his 'crime'. The other prisoners told him it was a hopeless case as no rapist, alleged or not, was declared not guilty. The student did not believe them. He believed that this trial will clear his charges.

A sound of clanking metal made Peter look up with his only eye. A guard has opened his cell. It was only one guard and so the fear of another hefty beating.
Phantom77 wrote:"Peter Culiar, by order of the Queen, you are required to stand trial for your alleged crime against the Sivana house. Come with me and I'll escort you to the chamber."
The time has come. Peter eagerly but painfully brought himself to his feet. He was a little wobbly from the pain he received and he had a little trouble breathing but he persevered and followed the guard. As he did so, he heard one last yell from the other prisoners.

"If you think this has a happy ending then you haven't been paying attention!"

--MEANWHILE--

Assassin watched the graduation of the Seraph Academy from a comfortable distance. Soon he was joined by his Holstaur coworker. "Time sure flies by." She mused. "It feels like it was only yesterday when I started working here and serving food to these kids." She reminisced, eyes closed. "Now they're all big boys and girls now and soon will be great men and women." She continued as the Head Master gave his speech.

"Peter? That rapist?"
"That boy disgraced the Academy. He shouldn't graduate with us."
"You guys seriously believe he did the act?"
"If that guy shows his face here, I'll kick his ass."

Both the Holstaur and Assassin heard and they both stayed silent.

--CONCURRENTLY--

Both Zev'jul and Keith had finished their performance in the streets and disappeared via a portal by the sorcerer. Keith carried two buckets of 'donations' while Zev'jul carried one half-filled to their quarters. "You think these'll be enough?" The mercenary asked.
"I'm not inclined to agree. We may have to get some from your own." The sorcerer replied.
"Whaaat?"
"I'll be getting some from my own as well." Zev'jul assured the greedy Keith.

"Now then, I must leave before Rielle gets here. I've yet another errand to run for Count Sivana." The sorcerer said before his signature portal appeared.
"That man sure has a lot of errands for you." Keith remarked.
"He promised recognition. Something I could use."
"And what if he loses?"
"I could always just cut ties." Zev'jul replied before a better answer crossed his mind. "Or rat him out for recognition."

A minute after Zev'jul had departed, Rielle's signature portal appeared and out came the White Witch. "Keith."
"Oh, Rielle!" He then presented the two-and-a-half buckets of gold he collected from the masses. "Ta-da!"
"How'd you get all these?" Rielle asked as she examined the literal buckets of gold.
"I sang." The answer was blunt.
"Uh-huh."

"Is it enough?" Keith asked the most important question.
"No." Rielle then faced the mercenary. "But it is enough for the down payment for some of the court officials and the testifiers or whatever you call them. Nice work."
"Who do you think I am? I'm Keith North!" The mercenary boasted.

"Though, don't you think it's better to just get people who hate the boy or believe the girl?"
Rielle chuckled. "We did. The money's only for those who needed a small push and to keep certain people from going apes*** during the trial."

--ELSEWHERE--

Zev'jul had arrived in a certain balcony overlooking the graduation ceremony. As the royal and the swordsman conversed, the sorcerer came up behind them and greeted to make his presence known. "Greetings, Your Majesty. I hope I am not interrupting anything." He then relayed his request. "May I please have a private word with Mister Ruecian? It's about Peter's case and Count Sivana."

If he was allowed, Zev'jul would take Ruecian on a walk. "As you may have heard, this is about that rape case. Count Sivana seems certain that he will win and so he has asked me to ask you if you are interested in executing the boy." The sorcerer was blunt and not at all nervous. "Count Sivana would like a celebrity to do the deed. He promised great things in exchange like the inevitable love of the people for executing a rapist."

If he was not allowed, Zev'jul would simply bow. "Then forgive me for wasting your time, gentlemen." He would say before leaving.

the reception started off well, that is until Felicie looked around commenting on how excited she must be to fight one of the girls whos boys she almost store, she then got into an argument with Anri, thankfully the princess stopped them ["My god, I really DO have to look after her...."] he thought

he smiled at Brandon who was part of this group, even though they don't talk, he figured that was fine so long as he's happy. the headmaster came and gave his speach. Luke was teary eyed while Felicie stifled a laugh.

Ivadi rolled his eyes at that before Princess Lias came up to speak. needless to say her speech was more eloquent and thought out than the headmasters.

when she finished her speech the headmaster says that the students will be called in alphabetical by surname. Ivadi sighs since his Surname is Ambrosius, like his father Merlin. he was a little nervous but he took a deep breath.

however during the reception he heard some disturbing news, about how Peter apparently raped some counts daughter and how he could be executed. the other students were talking about him earlier as his stomach churned slightly. how could they think that? peter was a normal student like everyone else and they turn their backs on him? what if THEY were in his position?

Ivadi decided he should see peter, he had to do SOMETHING. he hadn't known peter that well but he believes in him, so when he can, he'll go to see him. Felicie sees his fists clench on his lap

After the two introduced themselves and asked for her name Emilia nodded "My name... Is Emilia." she said, at least it sounded right to her ears. That said she sighed, not even being sure of her own name annoyed her greatly, at least some things seemed to be more familiar than other to her so perhaps those hints would help her piece back some of her memories together.

"I don't know about that.", Brandon replied to the princess. "I got some tricks up my sleeves and it's going to be dragging along the ground for miles.", he added before the Head Master arrives and began giving his speech which caused Brandon to think about his mother. Unlike Lisia, there's no one that Brandon truly cared about that's attending the reception for him. At times, he would be envious of the other students for having parents while he was left on his own after the damn plague. It aggravates him even more when a cure was being administered to the kingdom after his mother died. At one point, he resented the princess when her father had fallen ill from the same plague that killed his mother, but was soon cured of it. However, he soon moved on as there was nothing any of them could do.

He was taken out of his thoughts when the Head Master called up Lisia to give her own speech to start the event. Once she has given her speech, the Head Master began explaining that they are calling up students in alphabetical order by surname. Seeing that his surname is Valiquette, he'll be waiting for a while.

"Excellent. For the moment information is what you must gather. Information on the Count whose daughter has claimed that a young student from the academy, a boy, has raped her. Naturally this claim is false and this whole situation is merely a front for something more. Gather every bit of information you can get, eating habits, vices, dark secrets that he wishes to never see the light of day, what ever you can gather alongside evidence to prove it." Grabbing the pitcher the Wanderer refilled WordPlay's cup.

"At the moment the graduation ceremony is being held, with the royal family and many officials in attendance which gives the best window for the search. We are short on time however, as the ceremony will likely be 2 hours at most before concluding. The trial will occur soon after." He took a drink from his own cup before refilling it.

"Aside from when Rielle or the Blood Mage and his sister try to contact you in person, you must remain out of sight which is a given. As for how to relay information to me or if you have need to contact me,you can use this." Reaching into the opposite sleeve the man pulled out a small notebook, a thin journal with a brown cover and no markings or titles. He passed it across the table where it stopped beside WordPlay's cup.

"Anything you write in that journal will appear on the pages of its twin." He pulled an identical journal out from his sleeve, except his was black. "The same will occur if I write anything in my book here. The journals will be at our disposal until after our time in Zauberheim is complete, after which both will spontaneously combust in harmless flames that will leave not even ash. Even if you were to rip out a few pages to keep for future use, they too will erupt in flame." Stuffing his journal back into the sleeve the Wanderer interlocked his hands together.

"Either before the tournament begins or this false trial concludes, whichever first, I will contact you for the next part of your contract. As for needing the energy and recuperation you'll find that once we return you will discover yourself as fit as you were before entering the kingdom yesterday."

"There was no other business I wished to discuss, your Highness, other than relaying onto her Grace that if there is anything I can do to help in the lad's trial, please let me know." Giving a formal bow to the ruling pair, Tibrus turned to the mage in waiting, placing a hand on the man's shoulder.

"Come lad, this work will wait for no one." Bracing as best he could Tibrus we teleported out of the chambers thanks to the mage.

--- Luminous Citadel ---

Appearing in the designated transport room near the roof, the older of the pair took a moment to catch his breath. It wasn't like when he was 20 where he could tag along a teleport spell and not be winded. Sure it didn't take long to get his bearings, but it told Tibrus that he wasn't getting any younger. For now he put it from his mind, following the mage out the room down the adjacent hall to where most of the testing was being done.

"Tell me lad, in these last few hours how far up the chain have you tried at the barrier? Tier 5 spells or are you still on tier 4? What about the elemental resistances? Also, how well is the absorption working?" Down the hall he could hear muffled thumps and shouts as they walked, the air tingling with energy from the various spells casted in the last few hours.

The vigilante drank the water that the Wanderer so kindly refilled for before picking up the notebook and inspecting it before putting it away within his cloak, "Man, you are one interesting dude. You're asking a guy that tried to murder your face to play detective and to find some secrets on a guy involved in a trial within the next 2 hours? Granted, I don't mind playing detective, I'm just surprised that you're asking me of all people. To bad that I don't have a pipe to pretend to smoke with and a neat detective hat to wear. Not to mention you seem to be capable of a lot of things.", he rambled before moving on to the contract, "Anyway, this count, does he have a name? If not, do you know anyone involved in the case?", he asked the Wanderer as he believes that he's ready to start working on the contract.

"Thank you for the compliment. Now as for the Count his name is known to a number of people, including Rielle, however as we are short on time as it is..." Reaching into his sleeve once more he pulled out another form. It was styled like the others but wasn't as detailed as the others before. It read the name and generic info about the subject. Said subject?

Count Sivana.

"Also, be on the lookout for any shady deals such as bribery or blackmail, as well as those willing to come forward to report on such happenings. A noble willing to accuse an innocent of rape is more than willing to use money or have conspirators use money to gain or force support for his side of the case. When the time comes for the trial I'll use a trump or two to buy you more time if needed; let me know if that's the case. When you find anything, the more specific you can be the better. Keeping the count of his game is needed, not to mention highly entertaining. Oh, and one last thing..." Pulling out a rolled piece of parchment, he unrolled it and placed it before WordPlay.

On the parchment was a written form of the contract, detailing WordPlay's temporary services to the Wanderer, from the moment of signing the parchment to termination of the contract after the events of the kingdoms Founding Festival. Everything would look in order, nothing out of place nor any hidden meanings. At the bottom was a single line with plenty of space for WordPlay to write as needed. The Wanderer then placed a black feathered quill beside the parchment.

"The quill has a unique enchantment for contracts, painlessly drawing upon the writers blood and magical energies to form the ink for the contract in question. Once you have signed the contract, a portal shall open to the alley where you originally were. And as I mentioned you will be refreshed both mentally and physically so you will not be hampered. As a final piece, if you stay your hand from taking the life Order members that don't deserve death yet, the cannibal Annabelle will be yours to strike down during the climax of the coming days." With that he fell silent, waiting for WordPlay's next actions.

------------------------------
Graduation Reception
------------------------------

After the princess’s speech, the students were called one by one to receive their marks. Ivadi was one of the first called up, given his surname and the fact that the students’ were being announced in alphabetical order. Felicie and Luke would have to wait a while, as their surnames started with the letter S. Felicie moaned as she tried to find a way to entertain herself. During the wait, she noticed Ivadi clenching his fist as frustration began to show on his face. Rather than whisper to him, she instead put her hand on the boy’s shoulder. She used this gesture as a way to signal that Ivadi should calm down, hopefully it would work. She held her servant’s hand tight as she watched Anri make her way to the stage.

Before she took her seat, Lisia noticed that her father was up on the balcony; this pleased her greatly and made her feel better about the recent days. Though she kept it to herself, yesterday’s events had profoundly affected her. She is still worried about her father’s behavior as of late and Word Play’s shadow still haunted her to an extent. She remembered seeing three familiar faces on the balcony where her father was: Ruecian, Sir Henry, and the strange sorcerer who she saw in the throne room earlier today. The sorcerer gave her a eerie vibe, perhaps due to the unnatural look he had in his eyes; she saw him conversing with her father and gesturing toward Rue.

Eventually, Anri, Felicie, and Luke had all received their marks of graduation. Soon Brandon would follow, as would the princess. After several students were announced, it came to be Brandon’s turn to be called to the stage. If the boy would see it, he would see Lisia smiling at him. After some more announcements, the princess’s name would finally be called. As she was given her marks, many people in the crowd clapped and cheered; it was symbolic of the love the people had for their future ruler.

As the ceremony reached its closing moments, the Head Master appeared on the stage and gave some closing words. Things about how he remembered when all the graduates were young upstarts finding their way and how much they’ve grown. He also spoke as how they were guideposts for the generation after them.

After his closing remarks, the audience gave another round of applause for the new grads; the graduate students were all called to the stage and gave a bow to the people in the auditorium. Afterwards, the students were free to converse and relax with their friends and family. Luke and Anri decided to take a little time to socialize with their families. Felicie insisted that Ivadi take her to see her father, the legendary Archmage Merlin. Lisia decided to make her way to the balcony where he father was. She hoped she wouldn’t be too late to meet with him.

---------------------------
Reception Balcony
---------------------------

The merc and the king turned to see a rather peculiar sorcerer suddenly appear with them on the balcony overlooking the ceremony. At this point, the students with surnames starting with “K” where being called. The merc found the glow the sorcerer seemed to have in his to be…strange, to say the very least.

Reinhardt listened to Zev’jul’s request to speak with Ruecian in private. “Why would you need to speak to one of my called warriors in private?” Rue then walked beside the sorcerer, undaunted by his shadowy appearance. “It is alright, Your Majesty. I shall see what the man wants. I will return immediately if you have need of me.”

As the merc walked with the hooded man, he listened to the man’s explanation of how the Count wants Rue to execute Peter; Apparently, the boy is likely to win the case. Of course, the Count wants the exact opposite. Rue wants also promised riches and fame from the people. The merc had thought as much, the Count wants to do everything in his power to ensure he has his way. The sorcerer’s words confirm Rue’s suspicions on the matter.

The merc adjusts his coat before replying to the man’s proposition. “Sorry sir, but I’m afraid I must decline your offer. Whether the boy is innocent or not, it is not my place to pass judgment on him. Besides, I’m already on assignment with the king, and I’m not taking any other requests at the moment.” Rue then turns to return to the king, but before he does he says one last piece. “I know not why you choose to associate with an individual like the Count, but as a mercenary, I would suggest you choose your superiors more wisely.”

---------------------------
Luminous Citadel
---------------------------

As Tibrus conversed with the mage, another young worker from earlier came running up to him; the young man’s face was still covered in soot and grime. “’cuse me, Sir Heatherman, a cloaked fellow has asked to speak with you if you have the time.” The worker would then point to the man in black, who came walking over as soon as Tibrus reappeared at the Citadel.

“Good to see you again, little Tibrus. My, you’ve matured into quite the man AND architect. I’m sure your father would be proud. Mind if we chat in private?”

---------------------
Trial Chamber
----------------------

The guard had brought Peter into the chamber where his fate who be decided. The lights were dim as they walked into the room, however a few judges could be made out among the figures. As the guard brought the boy to the center of the room, the guard saluted and gave a response with a hefty voice.

“Your Grace, I’ve brought the prisoner as requested. The trial may now begin.” As the guard uttered these words, the lights grew brighter. At the stand facing Peter, he would lay eyes on the queen of the kingdom, Brunhilde. Beside her was Arteus, the king’s right hand and servant of the royal family. The queen taps her elegant staff on the ground to signal the start of the trial. “I hereby declare that court is in session. All rise!” The other officials rose from their seats at the queen’s words. Many of the elected officials were orderites, some mamono. The promptly sat down when the queen tapped her staff once again. She then turned to the student, who she saw had been beaten and chewed up by the system, a hint of displease showed on her face.

“Peter Culiar, you stand accused of raping the daughter of the Sivana noble house. Naturally this is a very serious felon; if you have anything to say in your defense, I would hear it now.”

"Rape? I doubt it, even though I never met this boy, he is a student in the academy yes? makes no sense for him attempting something like that" Henry gave his opinion about Peter culiar's case, "I'l give you credit for the quick thinking, but the lie was so absurd Im surprised the others fell for it" Henry admited to Ruecian.
And soon enough they were spoken to by the king himself, who had come to oversee his daughter's graduation ceremony, Henry only nodded in agreement at the kings words and as Reinhardt quickly spoke to Rue about the man's master, Seijin, Henry stood quiet, certainly interested in the topic, it wasn't every day you'd hear about a legendary swordsman, so he just had to hear about this, and hope he'd meet the man one day, although Rue didn't know about his whereabouts, nor did the king for that matter, he had a feeling this man was about to appear soon.

Before he could say anything, however another man approached them someone he didn't know, nor had met, the man asked to speak with Ruecian, and the latter soon allowed himself to speak to the man and walked with him, Henry stood with the king on the balcony, overseeing the ceremony as it ended,
"Forgive me king, but I couldn't help but hear what you spoke with Ruecian about, I see you know his master, forgive me for asking but, how do you know him?" Henry asked politely.

Finishing buying some supplies, Alexander walked around for a bit more, only to stop to hear some singing, and piano music in the distance, which attracted his attention no doubt, even though the event had already stopped by the time he arrived, he couldn't help but see two women, a nekomata and a hinezumi speaking with a dark elf, who seemed confused, almost as if she was lost, and she probably was, as far as Alexander knew, they weren't doing anything wrong, but Alexander decided to keep an eye out for them, just in case, finding a bench to sit down and read his book, a good enough spot to see the two speaking with the dark elf.

Oersted wrote:"My name... Is Emilia."
"You don't sound very confident in your answer." Jiyi remarked.
"Oh come on Ji-chan! She's troubled so that tone is normal." Haruka said to the Hinezumi before returning to the Dark Elf. "But that doesn't mean it's right sooo... let's get a drink and tell all your worries!" The Nekomata suddenly grabbed hold of Emilia's hand and dragged her to the nearest establishment that offered drinks in sight, The Winking Dormouse.

"Ruka wait!" Jiyi quickly followed. "Ruka! Have you ever considered Emilia's...!" Seeing the Nekomata was in no mood to listen, she looked at the Dark Elf. "Sorry about this, Emilia. Haruka can be... impulsive at times."

The three monsters were well away when the performance they watched earlier had ended and made their exit via portal.

--MEANWHILE--
(Zev'jul meant that the Count was sure he himself going to win but I find the realistic misunderstanding entertaining.)
Phantom77 wrote:“Sorry sir, but I’m afraid I must decline your offer. Whether the boy is innocent or not, it is not my place to pass judgment on him. Besides, I’m already on assignment with the king, and I’m not taking any other requests at the moment. Ruecian then left the sorcerer to re-join the King. "Hmph. Some mercenary, actually choosing a superior." Zev'jul said to no one. Since he had nothing to do at the moment and Keith was likely with Rielle at the trial, the sorcerer figured to pass the time watching the graduation ceremony. Zev'jul arrived at the balcony once more but stayed behind everyone there and stayed silent, watching as the ceremony took place whilst looking for anyone that might need his attention.

--ELSEWHERE--

Peter was taken to a dim but large room. There were a lot of people within and among them was Queen Brunhilde herself who seemed to be the main judge during the trial. The student's hopes rose when he found out as he was sure the Queen of Zauberheim was a gentle, reasonable and overall righteous figure. However, the excitement brought pain upon his chest and his hands immediately clung to it.

Rielle was also present there as well as her bribed allies, Count Sivana's allies and the greatest of them all, Peter's enemies. While she found that many would gladly testify against the student, she found them quite... loud and so had bribed them not to take part in the trial as she felt they would make the prosecuting party look unreasonable. The White Witch also had a trump card for anyone willing to use theirs but at the moment she has a request to make for the Queen.

Count Sivana was there as well, but since he was family he cannot testify against Peter. He had short silver hair and a face that could rival the King's in handsomeness. He was only there as a witness and to make sure his allies say the right things. He had a neutral expression who, like everyone else, looked at Peter Culiar.

The standard court procedure proceeded before Queen Brunhilde gazed at Peter.
Phantom77 wrote:“Peter Culiar, you stand accused of raping the daughter of the Sivana noble house. Naturally this is a very serious felon; if you have anything to say in your defense, I would hear it now.
Peter was ready to speak but the rush of anxiousness made him pause but he spoke, he knew the consequences of not doing so. "Your Highness, I-I was framed. By Count Sivana's daughter. She-she posed as an adventurer who needed help and so I did. She then led me to her room in the inn, I-I believe it was The Bannered Centaur, then she put me to sleep with a-- with a potion of some sort. The next thing I knew, guards w-were already dragging me to prison, claiming I had attempted to rape her."

"Your Grace, I assure you, I had not nor attempted to rape Count Sivana's daughter. I didn't even know who she was then!"

After that, Rielle raised her hand. "My Queen, if I may..." She began before standing up. "I'm Rielle Leonardo, the White Witch and one of the competitors in the upcoming tournament." Then she relayed her request. "I wish to cast a magic-nullifying spell upon this room and area to prevent the use of magic in aiding either side."

"I object!" A male voice said. Then stood a man who was bald yet had a young face and light tan skin. "That would also prevent magic from ascertaining the truth."

Rielle glared. "And you are?"

"Thomas Valentine. Son of Duke Valentine and manager of my father's assets within Zauberheim." He introduced himself.

"And you're here because?"

"Is that even a question? Like everybody here, I wish to see justice at the end of this."

The banter was now over and everybody shifted their eyes to the Queen for the final verdict.

Feeling Felicies hand Ivadi calmed down keeping his cool. he decides to wait till after the ceremony. Felicie came up to Ivadi wanting to see his father, Merlin he sighs "Very well Milady if that is what you wish..." he said placing two fingers to his head ["Father, are you there? I would like you to come to Seraph Academy to meet....my girlfriend to an extent."] he asked as he got a reply ["You got a girlfriend!? well damn son, im quite proud of you, hang on, i'll be here.."] he replied as the connection broke as Ivadi nods to Felicie

soon a bright light entered the room and descended. it then took the form of a young handsome man. hair as white as snow, eyes like sapphires. dressed in a white and light blue garb. he definitely got attention from everyone who saw him for they knew that this man whos magic power is so great, could only be Merlin Ambrosius the legendary Archmage, despite most assuming merlin would be a middle aged man now, he still retains his youth

Ivadi could only smile as he spoke to him "Hello father, nice of you to visit and see that you still like making big entrances." he said as Merlin grinned "hey Iva, glad to see you after so long." he said happily

"Oh great, contracts.", he muttered sarcastically before reading the Wanderer's contract. Nothing raises any red flag for the vigilante as he read through the parchment. "Hmm, I suppose I can accept your terms.", he commented as he picked up the quill. "But I can't sign it with my real name though.", he stated as he pricked his own finger to draw blood before signing the contract with his alias in kanji. "I'm sure you understand. Names have power and I really don't like the idea that someone knows my name. But don't worry, I'm one of a kind!", he stated as he pushed the contract and quill towards the Wanderer as a portal opened within the room. "Ta-ta~!", he waved as he carried his supplies out of the room and through thee portal.

Finding himself in the same alleyway as before, he quickly got to work on his contract. Sure enough, he was restored to his peak. Readjusting his mask, he pulled out a blank sheet of paper and a marker to write with. However, he didn't want to be interrupted again so he got out another slip of paper and wrote Ignore on it before placing it near the entrance of the alleyway. With that out of the way, he began thinking of what to write to get some dirt on the the count.
Tell me, Count Sivana, of your secret and lies that you maintain in your life. Show me the darkness that you use to hide the truth and the true color of moral alignment. Do not think that being a prestigious noble excuses you of the crime that you have committed within your treacherous life. No matter how much you try, how much you persuaded, there will always be someone that knows of your dark deeds. That person that knows of your secrets, lies and crimes is I, WordPlay. Now, show me what you are hiding within the darkness so that truth and justice may shine brightly. Smirking under his mask, with an entire paragraph, the vigilante will surely know of the Count's secrets. Activating the spell, he prepared to write down any information that he can get his hands on. However, he needs to remind himself on getting proof to help the Wanderer on the case. Once the vigilante knows of the Count's secrets, he'll know what kind of evidence he needs to look for.

Standing by himself, Brandon found himself in an awkward position. He was alone while all of his other classmates freely converse each other or their families. Seeing them made him feel uncomfortable and he wanted to find something to distract himself. He didn't know any of the students well enough to start a conversation with them nor meet with their families. Ivadi and Felicie seem to be talking to a man that strongly resembles Ivadi. Lisia had left shortly after the reception, most likely to talk to her family. This left him by himself and he wants a distraction. Walking over to a more secluded area, Brandon decided to think about the princess smiling at him after he was called up. To be honest, it was nice to have someone be happy for you. Even if you barely even know them, it's still nice to have them.

Emilia didn't answer to Jiyi's remark about her not seeming certain about her own name, after that Emilia was startled when Haruka suddenly grabbed her hand and started dragging her off somewhere, talking about getting a drink. However Emilia would pull against the one dragging her before exclaiming "Let go of me, I'm trying to remember not forget even more." in annoyance, and after a short pause she'd add "And besides, I don't have any money."

Emilia stopped Haruka from pulling her away to an alcoholic time. "Ahhh, but do you not know the secret powers of alcohol? It can induce a hypnotized-like state that makes one babble whatever is within one's mind. Things they know, things they do not wanna know and even things that they thought they didn't know." The Nekomata responded with confident vigor. "Now come on!" She began tugging once more.

Meanwhile, Jiyi could only sigh at the mad excuses her friend made to convince the Dark Elf.

The masked vigilante hummed as he wrote down some notes within the Wanderer's journal.
Hey Wanderer, I got some dirt on the count though I'll need some physical evidence and a few testifiers. I'll update you when I have something solid.
Putting the journal back into his cloak, WordPlay went back to digging up some more dirt. 'Hmm, Count Sivana had an employee that he considered to be one of his greatest secrets. I wonder who that employee be?', he thought to himself.

Count Sivana had many men and women that serve him in multiple ways. Give me the names of those that were once employed by Count Sivana but were dismissed from their service due to a mistake on their part. However, I do not demand any servants that was once employed by Count Sivana. No, I demand the names of those that serve Count Sivana in order to care for themselves and their family.

Looking at what he wrote, he activated his spell to find out who that man was that was dismissed by the Count. Just who was he that the Count considered him to be one of his darkest secrets?
