MG's and Monsters

Hello~
So I've liked drawing girls and monsters for the longest time, and just recently I saw monstergirls and started drawing them as well
I really enjoy it, and I made a tumblr and intend to complete the 30 day monstergirl challenge (but probably not in order), so please let me know what you think!
This is what I have so far
I want to draw more mermaids, was really fun!
Oh, and I think for most of the monstergirls, I won't paint them like this, because if I paint one then I pretty much don't have time to do anything else that day! So I think I'll just stick to lineart for most of them, much quicker
Not really a monster girl, but
Oh, and my blog is
http://monstersbyjenny.tumblr.com/ if anyone's interested. Thanks for looking, and please let me know what you like and what you think could be better! I'm pretty new to monstergirls after all

Welcome aboard Jenny, and nice artwork! The mermaid one is quite stylish

Greetings One2ManyJenny, make yourself at home here. That's a very interesting artstyle you have there, a nice mix of crisp lines with smooth surfaces, it works pretty well. And yes, the mermaid looks very good, especially the shading. Nicely done!

The fishwoman is pretty sweet. I like your unique style, it's unlike anything I've seen before.

Thank you for the warm welcomes! I'm glad you all liked the mermaid, she was really fun to draw!
I continued with the 30 day challenge with #1: Harpy
I think I will do a quick pass with flat colour on top of this tomorrow, if I have time to spare
Also, I don't know if it's just me, but the images seem to be cropped if they are too big. If it crops then here's the link

Pretty naga there. I'm getting a bit of a Disney's Meg from Hercules feel on her for some reason. Liking her eyes and how she is holding her hair. Guessing the skulls are a "stay away or die" warning?

I dunno why, but you style has a sort of... Gothic feeling. It reminds me of Kojima Ayami's (Castlevania's old illustrator) artwork. And that's a pretty big compliment coming from me, heh.

@PAZ Is it really that unique? But thank you for your encouragement! I'm having fun~
@Feathers Thanks! haha, yeah but the skulls are more like "praise my beauty and sexiness or else..."
@Blake Kojima Ayami is soo good! I think the gothic influence are from Heavy Metal magazine though, artists like Luis Royo. I grew up reading stuff like that (in secret, I found the magazines in my grandparents attic and smuggled them home hahaha... they are quite mature in content) and eastern influences came much later. But indeed, being compared to Kojima-sensei s a huge compliment! Thank you so much!
I've been busy with some irl stuff lately and haven't been able to draw monster girls :c But finally got some time to sit back and have fun with this little demon this weekend~ I also started uploading stuff to deviantart, and so far it's quite lonely. If anyone uses either deviantart or tumblr it would mean a lot to me if you came by to support me~

I'm thinking about doing some kind of mermaid comic - something real simple, like a small drawing accompanied by some dialogue to describe a 'happening'

moar demon girls. Really, when I started I just wanted to draw butts (orz) but as I did that I came up with a small story. So this baphomet has been a good girl and a a reward she was given this warrior demon (which she is now inspecting carefully huehuehue)

Again, very nice drawings there, i especially like the way you do the colouring/shading on these gals.
That Octavia is my favourite of the lot right now.

Thanks Bri~ I think the mere girls are the only ones who have real character, most of my girls I do just based on what I feel like doing at the moment
These two were done as commissions, I really enjoy these more exotic variations!

Your art style is really amazing, I see one thing in particular that I have lots of trouble doing. Throwing in extra colours. Like your shark girl who is mostly a grey blue but has hints of orange in the lighting... I don't know how to do that as I never studied art, I don't know when you are supposed to that to make it look even better

Thank you~
I don't think I can explain colours very well, but basically you can just try different stuff and see if it works or not. There are very few rules for using colours so it's mostly about what you think looks best. For most of these, I do the sketch in a color that's opposite of the palette I will use, so the shark girl for example is sketched in orange, and then I paint on top of that but let the orange shine through. Hope that can be a little helpful, thanks again!

I'm not entirely sure what kind of monster girl this is though

Well, she could be a goblin, she has the right skin colour.
For most of these, I do the sketch in a color that's opposite of the palette I will use, so the shark girl for example is sketched in orange, and then I paint on top of that but let the orange shine through. Hope that can be a little helpful, thanks again!
Ah, you see that is what is different, I just start with the base tone immediately and work my way up from there.

Thanks~ She ended up as an alien though, felt very FAKK2 to me so...
This is my full process, it's not very rigid but this is the pattern I mostly follow

Why did she turn blue at one point?
