Ever tried to chase for the top spot with any online game? Used to try it with CoD, Dead Rising 2, Time Crisis: Razing Storm and Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain' FOB missions.
Pro: A form of self-gratification and bragging rights.
Con: Implies amount of time spent to reach the top position.
How about you all, any of you attempted to chase for the top spot (or at least ranked really high up)?

Ace combat 6
Ace combat: AH
Ace combat 6 was only because I never played a match alone.
Assault horizon because it wasn't a sim. It was just mechanics, and once you understood that. And realise that everyone under the top 50 is still trying to play it like an actual Ace combat game, you will run perfect games without getting downed once on a daily basis.
EDIT: Err, I was top 10 in elderp pvp one month, and in top 50 on mobile suit gundam online for a month.

Not anymore, they are usually waaaaaaaaaaaay outside my play range. Heck, did you ever watch the DOOM 2 done quick? He freakin' beats the first map SIX SECONDS! I couldn't even do that.
I used to like trying to do time attacks while back in Super Mario Kart (my best game), Sonics and Punch Out (which I was actually pretty great in). These days? Nah, I ain't got the manual dexterity anymore. Ever since I cracked my wrist as a teen (also carpal tunnel syndrome creeps up every now and then, but vitamins help with that), I've never been the same, and became a casual gamer.

Myself, not so much. But a friend of mine used to do speedruns of Megaman X, and last I checked, unofficially she was the 34th fastest in the world. Sadly, she had to stop because the stress and frustration was starting to get to her.

Being the one that sucks at video games so much, I could never find myself getting close to the leaderboard scores.
Heck, my hand-eye coordination really sucks. I'll practice and practice and practice, and still be horrible. It's just something I've never been good at.
So basically, I just don't bother anymore.
