And yet all the same whether resented as a clone or not, Roy was welcomed by other's who felt nostalgia overload and happiness. He truly was just another clone character like Marth true, but the fact that he came back, and was given enough refinement of subtle changes made him a welcomed character of the series. There are way more many fans that wanted his return than those who criticized him for being just another clone, a variant that holds more physical power than Marth. They kept his standard special which even has more launch power that Ike's. Programming him to play on smash 4 may not have been difficult since most of his moves reflected Marths, but he was at least tweaked just a little to make him feel different. I feel happy for his return, and thankful for Sakurai for making him return despite knowing the negative backlash that may come with putting another "Clone Character." In the series. Is being unique so important that it has to be harped negatively to the point of insult? Many fighting games holds similar concepts, with many fighters sharing the same moves and traits of another fighter, and yet somehow, smash is the only one I always hear getting complaints and criticism.

I'm willing to give Roy the benefit of being reintroduced and welcome him with open arms, and his very return confirms that I'm not the only one who welcomes it. Cheers to you Roy ^_^

Ryu on the Other hand was something I expected, but I never expected they'd make his play style similar to that of the original street fighter. That took me off guard in a good way and it was ice to see he was a unique character with his own unique concept.

So overall, I was very pleased with it, specially since my main from Melee, is finally back on SSB4, where he makes a stand as my #1 character, alongside Mac :p

I kinda wish they gave him a Zack palette/outfit as well... but oh well... What can we do about it...
Being a guest character he would either be uber god tier (a la Snake in Brawl) or five steps below bottom tier... You guys tell me once you try him since I don't have the money to spend on a Wii U as of now nor I'm interested in breaking my 3DS for this game.

Hearing the old school music gives me goosebumps, always. This will be Good free advertisement for the already-hyped upcoming FF7 remake. Makes me wonder (well, hope) if Nintendo will get some more FF love in the future...

Actually fun fact: FF7 was originally intended to be released on the NES, but was moved to N64, But since the N64 memory space was too small to handle FF7 they moved it onto a ROM on the Playstation

My friends were going a little nuts over the reveal. Another sword character sounds like it could be either bad or good. I personally feel that his reveal is just for the hype of the remake coming out next year.

I wonder how his character will be rated when he's released and has had time to settle into the meta-game.

Yeah I did think it was odd to add him. Still cool though, mainly because I thought Square disliked Nintendo for a long time (about carts or something?). That was the rumor in the 90s, anyway.

Well...That's pretty much a given.
I mean FF7's remake is their biggest (and probably very last) trump card up their sleeves, if the game ends up being a flop it could easily mean the ruin for Square-Enix.

Until the game official release expect insertions of the main characters on everything they can even think of... Heck, we can even see Cloud, Aerith, Tifa and co. in snakes and ladders at this rate.

Another FE sword wielder.The only thing that interests me about Corrin/Kamui is that their sword has different versions depending on the route you take and that they can use dragon powers.
