OUYA: A New Kind of Video Game Console

So yea im not sure how many people know about this yet, but the kickstarter ended for this project and they exceed their goal of 950,000 and made $8,596,475! Personally im looking forward to this when its released in april of next year. Please tell me what you think about such a device?

Why am I suddonly reminded of what console gaming was like back in the early 80s?

And to be honest, I don't have very high hopes for this thing.

That is not a hell a lot of memory... my MP3 player has that much...

Well it's only $99 dollars and uses the Android OS. ITs open source and can download the games on the Android phones as well, they're working on getting more thrid party support in order to play actual console games. Plus it comes with its own developer kit, meaning each owner can potentially be a developer as well, and they're actually encouraging hackers/moders to improve on it.

Even if this doesn't catch on ill still support since they're actually thinking about possibly futures for the market and taking a chance instead of following the curve.
