The Oculus Rift virtual reality headset has a new supporter in developer Sinful Robot, an Irvine, California-based start up that plans to bring "immersive virtual reality erotic encounters" to the headset designed with video games in mind.

Sinful Robot announced its intentions to bring an "erotic adventure game" to the Rift — and "other similar technologies" — through its website and a post on Reddit by company co-founder and creative director Jeroen Van den Bosch.

"I have been waiting for many years for technology to become immersive enough so it [tricks] your brain to accept the virtual reality as reality, but the Rift does really do that," Van den Bosch wrote on Reddit. "So now we can finally make an erotic adventure game that will actually be exciting!"
So.... I wonder if any of the Monster Girl game studios are going to pick up on this in Japan? :blushing:

They say the mind can emulate the feeling of sexual pleasure in a dream. Do you think that's possible in VR? I'm sure you know what I'm getting at..

Yes, it can.

I'm reminded of this recent Diginfo News video

At 1:44, the guy starts to talk about how adding the tactile feedback caused some people to feel other sensations, such as the cup of water feeling cold or heavy. I'd be very interested in a neurologists take on that. Regardless, I'll let your imagination run with that thought.

I also heard it's only possible to feel it if you have actually felt it before. So for example you can't feel a gunshot if you have never been shot?

You don't have to feel it, it is already there in your instinct, Instinct of animal. I've have dream of having sex with touhou character and it felt so good that I regret waking up.

Gunshot is a pain, and pain can be stimulated by sending some wave through the nerve of your body.

This isn't true at all. Technology already lets us feel sex toys that feel pretty much like the real thing (and some say even better because the textures on the inside can be made to be more stimulating). What people don't get is the emotional attachment from just looking at something on the screen. However, some people have started to get emotional attachments to robots such as the Roomba, so a convincing enough VR gal that you might interact with could potentially start tripping all those buttons to.

For grins, I eMailed Sinful robot to see how much customization will be enabled and suggested player made modifications such as textures, models, wings, ears, tails, and custom skin tones. I'll be curious to see their response.
