So, Nintendo announced today that their CEO Satoru Iwata has passed away at age 55.
In their own words:

Nintendo Co., Ltd. deeply regrets to announce that President Satoru Iwata passed away on July 11, 2015 due to a bile duct growth.

RIP, Iwata-san. The gaming world is much poorer without you.

...Damn this this is really hard to take news and to think he he seemed fine not to long ago...

...I shall shed to tear, but instead cherish that of what he had given us...from the Mother series to the Kirby series, to play in it's brilliant splender and glory, to laugh and play with others. A man who truly understood the values of family and friend fun. To bring together. You are a man of honor, a man of fun, a man of glory, and a man of gaming. Truly you have affected not just family, friends, and fans, but even those of which were your rivals. The playstation community itself mourns the loss of this great man today, one who was an owner of the oldest videogame franchise. You have affected the lives of new and old alike in a positive manner that is irreplacable.

Iwata, a man of few words, one who spoke "Please Understand..." It took a bit of elaborating before I grasped the meaning of such words. Know that as you rest in eternity, with your shackles released as you're free from the struggles of work, we all knew deep inside, that you, like the community of gamers you had made and gathered, are one yourself. now that as you look below us, we hold you in memory for countless days to come. Today we mourn your loss, but tomorrow, we shall cherish which what you had blessed us, giving us our childhood, or making new ones with the new generation...

R.I.P Satoru Iwata. A man loved by all through the end...

Our condolence to you, from a Die hard fan Ace and Gamer. We both grew up to your games, we shall forever play them together in your memory...

Only saw him once in a Smash parody (I don't check much up on industry leaders), but he looked like a nice and fun person. Was sad to read he passed on so young. RIP

Don't even know the guy and I'm nearly crying.

It's hard for such a loss to not bring a tear to anyone's eye.

His memory has been engraved into the industry. May his soul find peace.

Nintendo seems dead since he passed away. It's really sad.
