Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
I'm having a weird issue.
As soon as I finished the installation I ran the launcher, Then it seemed to be updating on it's own. And after that...I can't run it anymore! Whenever I execute the launcher I'm told that Windows can't open that application. What happent? How can I fix that?

Then when you open the launcher, click the "third" button (file check) down instead of the big one to update and fix any broken files.
If you can't even get the launcher open after you reinstall it let us know please.

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
Ah, sorry I have not been on here today to help out. I hope things have worked out well ^_^;
@Feathers
What to do after the tutorial? My personal suggestion would be to work on Client Orders from NPCs, most notably Koffie (right side in the main lobby, by the Quest counter). She will give you missions to unlock new areas, expand your weapon sub-panels, get a Mag and other things. You can also do Client Orders for other NPCs to unlock new things as well, such as Buff Drinks, items and exp/money.
Matter Boards are another thing to work on, as they usually give you some fairly decent weapons, units and other items. The Matter Boards are set up in a grid-like system for completion. I have to reference a guide when I work on them. here are some References for your convenience:
• Matter Board Guide:
Click For Matter Board Guide
• Client Orders Guide:
Click for Client Orders
• Koffie's Client Orders Guide:
Click for Koffie Client orders Guide
Finally, if you need more information, here is a complete guide listing for PSO 2. This list includes guides for Symbol Arts, Mags, Quests, Menus, Chat, Autowords and a whole lot more. If you have a question about the game or a function/feature, it will more than likely be in one of the guides.
• PSO 2 Guide List:
PSO 2 Guide list (via Bumped.org)
P.S. The Rappies I showed are indeed based off the Rapiko. The normal PSO styled rappies are in the game, but the Rapiko (Nab Rappy in PSO 2) are the rare variants, much like the Hallow-Rappy, Santa Rappy, Egg Rappy or (my fave) Love Rappy. Personally, I didn't really like the PSU variants of Rappy (or Chao).

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
The problem with that is that I don't even get the chance to pick which button to click! I reinstalled just as you said but, once again, when I open the launcher, it starts to update before I'm even able to see this screen:Then when you open the launcher, click the "third" button (file check) down instead of the big one to update and fix any broken files.
It looks like this:
And after a while, it says this:
And after that, I can't open it anymore....What should I do?

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
Ah, it is actually "trying" to load the launcher. Not updating. I have been lucky enough to never recieve that error, unfortunately because of that I don't know how to help you. Perhaps it is an administrator problem.
On the bright side every error imaginable has been solved so just google something like "launcher won't load" on click on anything that looks like a forum or blog, bumped, psoworld, gamefaqs, etc.

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
It seems like it ain't as you say. It isn't trying to load the launcher, it's trying to update it. On a whim, I cancelled that ``update´´ that appeared before the launcher and the launcher loaded. Also, before I reinstalled, I checked the launcher files after it breaks and compared them with their clean pre-update state, and it seems like that update, whatever it does, corrupts the launcher and the other exe files.
Is there any way to manualy update the launcher?

Here’s a link with a working, non permission borked, launcher

Thanks a TON for the guidance Tweakn. Wow, you are like an angel; just suddenly appearing, finding our forum, and helping out so much!
Told ya Blake, it was a pain in the tail feathers to set up!
I'm going to have to remake because I wanted to be a healer/mage type anyway and Newmans are probably a better choice. This game seems a lot like Guild Wars 2 with the instant class/role switching.

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
Indeed man, it's quite a pain to patch, even more than Wolf Team.
Those patches Sev posted seem to have done the trick, I no longer get corrupted launcher files, but.....How much does it has to DL the first time? It has been going for hours and it has barely advanced. Is that normal, or it's jammed?

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
My download for the patch took 6 hours (at about 500 kbps). I really hope there is more skills than fireball iceball and lightning ball because this will get boring really fast..still looking for good guides though.

Holy Hackers! It took that long even with your connection that's about twice faster than mine!? Boy...This might take a while....
As for guides, I found a great compilation of guides here:
http://bumped.org/psublog/pso2-guide-list/
Hope that helps.

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
I looked at those guides but I can't find a spell list for Forces. Right now I only have 3 skills and it's pretty dull. The game is neat though, I really like the NPC teammates especially. The combat is like HellGate London pretty much. I have a wussy ranger in my team now he's funny though.

@Feathers
There are more techs than just Foie, Zonde and Barta. You have to find the tech discs (green items that look like CDs) that will give you the techs you are looking for. The basic techs in PSO are
• Foie, Gifoie, Rafoie (fire techs)
• Zonde, Gizonde, Razonde (lighting)
• Barta, Gibarta, Rabarta (ice)
• Megid (dark), Grants (light)
• Shifta (atk up), Deband (def up).
I'm sure there are more in PSO 2, but I am not a force, so I am unsure of which techs are in this game, currently. I'm hoping a PSO 2 wiki will be made soon for that kind of information ^_^
Also, the NPC teammates are pretty fun. Did you know you can register your Arks card (and your friends can too) so you can use them as an NPC teammate? It's pretty funny and fun at times to be running around with your friend and their NPC self in the same team!

If you were speaking about PSO Ep 1 & 2, you've missed a few techs, and since there aren't that many techniques here are the ones that you didn't note.:tweakn wrote:There are more techs than just Foie, Zonde and Barta. Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
Ah yes, how could I have forgotten those? I know PSU also introduced some more support techs that raised your accuracy/agility and lowered monsters' (Zodial/Zoldeel) and the tech version of shifta/deband/jellen/zaulre called (i think) Retier and Rentis. Of course, I DO rember Megistar, which does all stat boots to yourself for the effect of Soul Eater/Banish (slowly drains your HP).Oersted wrote:If you were speaking about PSO Ep 1 & 2, you've missed a few techs, and since there aren't that many techniques here are the ones that you didn't note.:

Be sure you clicked the third button down and not the big start button, it is just faster and more likely to finish.Blake81 wrote:.....Ugh......There was a brownout a couple mins ago......Patch DL returned to 0%......This might take a LOOOOOOOOONG time......
But as I said it took me 3 days because of what you just delt with, congratulations.
