Phantasy Star Online 2
Ok ya so by now I assume any of you interested have heard that SEGA is going to make this come to EU and NA sometime in 2013.
I personally kinda dread what they will do to the VA in the game as well as how they will handle cash shop and whats available in it cause I really like what JP has released for theirs.
ANYWAYS...
Let me get this out of the way, I HAVE NOT PLAYED ANY PREVIOUS PS GAMES BEFORE OR PSO1 OR PSU.
A quick summary for all you out there for gameplay is a Hub city where players gather to trade, store, upgrade skills, change class, shop, accept and turn in Client Orders(quests), choose mission, and go to your own Personal Room or Team(Guild) Room. It can be a grind heavy game in later levels but it end not to notice due to having fun.
Currently for JP, only subscribers to the game can trade, personalize and enter your My Room, and use sell items on the market, it also has a cash shops for purchasing a lottery ticket for the chance at rare costumes, furniture and items as well as being able to use the Body Shop and change your characters appearance though the most common core changes are available to all. (Heads and accessories)
CLASSES - Their are currently 3 Base classes as well as 3 extended classes that unlock after the 3 bases reach certain levels. The games level cap is currently 40. Anything with a * next to it means I don't personally play the class or have not gotten around to it.
Hunter
As you'd expect, a melee class that has access to 2h swords, Partizans, and Wire Lances(a ranged melee weapon that lets you lash out with hooks)
Fighter*
A class that unlocks once you get Hunter to Lv30. It has access to Double Daggers, Knuckles, and Double Sabers.
Ranger*
Ranged Class with Rifle and Rocket launcher weapons. Rifle appears the more mobile weapon of the 2 for Rangers for obvious reasons, Rifles fire in 3 round bursts and its skills include a debuff applied to enemy body parts that take massive dmg from any source, a homing barrage, and prone sniper shot. Rocket Launcher leaves you stationary for a split-second or so when you attack but has some nice skills that allow stun, mobility, knock up or multiple hits.
Gunner*
Unlocks at Ranger lv30, see a pattern yet? Only weapon I know of is double machine guns, and from what I've seen the looks are pretty much dual Uzi's
Force*
The Mage class of the game with access to Fire, Ice and Thunder in its skill tree but also able to use Wind and Light(as far as I know). Uses Staff and Talis weapons
Techer*
Unlocks at Force lv30.
Will continue to update as I have the time, sorry for neglecting this for so long.

So I am assuming that Aekrid and I are the only ones in this entire community that plays this game?
You do know you can play the japanese version, it's free to play, and there is a partial translate english patch to make things easier for those who do not understand japanese.

Because I am all alone among strangers and need a friend. ='(

More like I wanna play it, but wanna wait for the English version to come out because I am not fond of using translation guides just to understand certain aspects of a game. Still looks like a good game though from the videos I've seen of it.
Men, we led those dumb bugs out to the middle of nowhere to keep 'em from gettin' their filthy claws on Earth. But, we stumbled onto somethin' they're so hot for, that they're scramblin' over each other to get it. Well, I don't care if it's God's own personal anti-son-of-a-bitch machine, or a giant hoola hoop, we're not gonna let 'em have it! Well, I did play the hell out of PSO Ep1 & 2, but even if I wanted to play PSO2 I don't currently have the means to play it.Severontous wrote:So I am assuming that Aekrid and I are the only ones in this entire community that plays this game?

After Secret World let down I'm afraid to ever pay to play an MMORPG again. :/ I'll wait for serious feedback on this one.. PS1 wasn't really my thing though, I'm not sure what made it so popular honestly.

When it does come out I may stick with the jp version; since Sega of America always overedits the game. Plus a 6 month content gap, not to mention exclusive content that only the jp get.ShadowBladeX wrote:More like I wanna play it, but wanna wait for the English version to come out because I am not fond of using translation guides just to understand certain aspects of a game. Btw it is not a translation guide it is a legitimate english patch that translates everything clientside.
I apologise that I do not know what that is; but I believe you are putting that game way over the priority line, if it is so much as to disconcern yourself with the entire genre that is mmorpg. >_>Feathers wrote:After Secret World let down I'm afraid to ever pay to play an MMORPG again. :/ I'll wait for serious feedback on this one.. PSO2 is a computer game, right? My current computer is an old piece of scrap that can't even run half the stuff I'd like to play.Severontous wrote:What do you mean by that?
I mean, its fine for doing everyday stuff like checking my mails, going on youtube and read webcomics, but aside from that...

I've played many many MMORPGs and all of them have become doomed to F2P item malls apart from WoW. It's just my opinion but I think P2P is a dying market and also "games that never end".

If I am understanding you correctly then MMORPGs are definitely not for you.Feathers wrote:I've played many many MMORPGs and all of them have become doomed to F2P item malls apart from WoW. It's just my opinion but I think P2P is a dying market and also "games that never end".
Imho I would rather have a F2P full game with P2P vip rather than full retail P2P that will later release vip content ANYWAY.
And also imho "games that never end" is erm... kinda the point of MMORPGs.
Lol we will see about that, download this....Oersted wrote:PSO2 is a computer game, right? My current computer is an old piece of scrap that can't even run half the stuff I'd like to play.Severontous wrote:What do you mean by that?

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
The English patch works only on client-sided text. WEapon names, items anda f ew other things are server-side, so those aren't translated by the patch. However, the character stats and weapons stats ARE translated, so it's easy to see if a weapon you just picked up is better, in stats and attributes, than one you currently have equipped. This goes the same for units.
I play PSO 2 fairly frequently, so if you need someone to hang out with (Ship 2, Block 20), I'll glad play with ya. In-game character name/ID are tweak'n / pounce. Hope to make some new friends! ^_^
BTW, thanks for linking my site!

How are you! And yes your site had pathways to absolutely everything anyone needs to get started, it is practically dummy proof, as a matter of fact I wouldn't be playing without them, because I wouldn't know about it in the first place.
As for your proposition both my name and SEGA ID is "Oracle Evangel" I really do need someone that I meet outside of the game itself to buddy with...
How did you find us by the way?

Wait, this game is free to play? I'll try it then! Pardon my ignorance. To be honest after trying PSO1 one last month, I had low hopes for this one, but since it's free I'd like to try it (though I have no info on how atm). As for MMORPGs not being for me, that's true if it's PvE focused, because if PvP isn't a large part of the game I don't see the drive to them honestly; fighting AI just isn't thrilling enough to hold me to a game.

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
this place was discovered via a plugin on my site.Severontous wrote: How did you find us by the way?
PSO 2 currently does not have a PvP or Battle mode, however that's not to say it won't possibly be implemented in the future. The first PSO had a Battle mode (PvP) and a Challenge mode, so I would at least hope those modes would make a return at some point. PSO 2 is about a month and a half into launch, so there are definitely big updates ahead, as the game is pretty new.Feathers wrote:As for MMORPGs not being for me, that's true if it's PvE focused, because if PvP isn't a large part of the game I don't see the drive to them honestly; fighting AI just isn't thrilling enough to hold me to a game.
Quite frankly, PSO 1 has not aged too well since it's release in 2000-2001. That was when the novelty of playing a console game online with friends was pretty fresh and new, so even equipping a new sword for your friends to see was awesome. Thankfully, the system has been improved upon over the years, with PSU really helping the series along in gameplay (strafing, locking onto enemies, weapon pallets, first-person aiming etc.), followed by refinements within the Phantasy Star Portable series.Feathers wrote:To be honest after trying PSO1 one last month, I had low hopes for this one, but since it's free I'd like to try it (though I have no info on how atm).
As for getting info on how to play the game, there are many places you can get started on registering a Sega ID account, downloading the game and English patch and other resources. One of my faves (for obvious reasons) is http://wp.me/p2jroK-iJ or www.tehvulture.com
A huge plus (for me, anyways) to PSO 2 is that it contains the cutest Rappies I have ever seen, especially the current Summer Festa event ones, with their little inner-tubes and snorkels
Severontous, thanks for showing me how to set Photon Blasts! I was also surprised to fight 3 Rockbears (such cool beasts), since I'm used to being solo most of the time. I look forward to another gaming session and hope to see more people from here in game ^_^

Thank you for putting up with me though.
Anywho
You don't need a entirely new computer, but you are missing things.
Your OS is good, CPU is good, Mobo is good, but..
You need to clean out your Hard Drive alot, or get another one and add on.
You need more ram, ram is cheap.
and if I am reading that correctly you are using intergrated cpu graphics, meaning you do not have a GPU (graphics card) at all.
System memory, ram (3 Gb), and a gpu (a "gt 440" would do it) is what you would need to run the game.
@tweakn, not experiencing something to it's fullest for not understanding a function is a crime, I'm more than happy to help in anything.
@Feathers,
YOU, like PvP??????

@Severontous, well, that's good to know, but even then this computer isn't really mine, its my dad's so I can't change stuff as much as I'd want to. And I've been planning to buy one for myself for a while now, even got a friend helping me out.
But I thank you for your time.

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
Well as far PvE goes. a new dynamic system has been implimented, for music it is called SYMPHONY. For gameplay it is not named but long story short.
Rpg repetitivity is gone. Even same mission maps are "randomly" generated. Hundreds of events in the form of emergency codes, not to mention community events weekly made by SEGA of japan itself.
Emergency events so far are what takes the cake, it's basicly co-op war along with from what i have seen up to 20 players.

That actually sounds pretty awesome Sev. I want to try this game now. I LOVE Random Dungeons! Is it hard to set it up, since its JP and all? I think it may be better (for me) to wait for the US release if it's a chore to set up.
