[Glossary]
(Details are given an abridged explanation. Full details usually can only be found within the setting data.)
Digger: An interesting cross between an Adventurer and an Archologist. Armed with a special mechanical suit, they can wipe out the guard robots that lie within the Ruins and Subgates while looking for the treasures, artifacts, and refractors that lie within.
Ruins: Well, there's really not much to say about what it is. They are the ruins up past civilizations that are hidden all over the world. Many are hidden underground and it's filled with traps, guard robots, and treasures of all sorts. These places are likely to have at least one Refractor.
Subgates: (Short for Subterranean Gate) These underground ruins are interlinked within an entire island or continent. However, because of the natural structure, you would never know that Subgates are connected that way. Nearly all the paths that link SubGate Locations are sealed off by different means. Much like the Ruins they have treasures, artifacts, traps, and guard Robots.
Reaverbots: These are the guard robots that swarm within and around the ruins and subgates. These hostile mechanical guards, will chase out and eliminate any and all life that tries to enter or go near the ruins. They will keep trying until the intruder is dead or far away from the ruins and subgates. They come in many shapes and sizes and usually have their own gimmicks in which they combat intruders. Some of the Gimmicks range from flying units, to undersea units, to even units that leave a big explosion when defeated. When defeated, you can find Zenny, an energy capsule, and/or a life cube flung out of their remains.
Energy Capsule: It's an odd energy capsule that for some reason restores and generates a small amount of ammo to your sub weapon.(Bigger ones can only restore 1/4 of your ammo at most and those are rare.) It was theorized that when it's in a reaverbot, it gives them unlimited ammo. However, because of the way reaverbots blow up when defeated, only a portion of it still works at most. It doesn't guarantee you'll always see it. These show up every now and then, but it's not common.
Life Cube: It's an odd box that can be found in reaverbots and how they can be traced by Spotters. It's said, it helps in conjunction of the Zenny to give them power. Since only a portion of it remains when defeated, it oddly can mend small wounds or at the very most restore some vitality. No one is really sure how and why though.
Zenny: The currency of this world.
Junk Shop: A store to get commercial gear for a Digger's Buster Gun, equipment for a digger's "Special Suit", or parts that would be of use to either an Engineer, Spotter, or the flying machine.
Digger's Guild: The home and guild for new diggers. A place for training and learning as well as earn proof that you can handle the certain ranked Ruins and Subgates. Please Refer to Setting Info on the Digger's Guild for full details.
Buster Gun: Primary Digger Weapon that shots out energy bullets. The Weapon is embedded onto the "Special Suit" that's mounted on your dominate hand part of said suit. There is no limit to how many bullets you can fire since the ammo is unlimited. Depending on if you make a pact or not with an elemental, the properties of the bullets can change.(Upgradeable, Arm Cannon.)
POW Suit: It's the special suit that serves various functions and allows one to equip arm-mounted weapons amongst other things. (Requires an engineer for upgrades and maintanance). It's bullet proof and the Digger's uniform mandated by the Digger's guild.
Spotter: The Digger's Main Partner in their occupation. They use the suit's radar, and com. system to guide the digger(from the flying machine or a distant from the dig location) safely into the ruins and subgates. They give advice and talk them through troublesome areas. The special radar, allows them to detect Reaverbots and any machinery that's found there(including consoles and computers) Along with that, they have to help make sure to keep good moral for the digger. They live with the digger within the flying machine and also serve as it's pilot. (Popular with monster girls. Possible to develope Florence Nightingale Syndrome.)
Engineer: Also known as a Inventor or Mechanic for Obvious reasons. The maintain the special suit and the flying machine of the digger. With the right parts and some money, the digger they work with can commission for special weapons and equipment. There are Engineers that work with pirates. Those engineers build and upgrade the mechs, but they wont do it for free and require parts to make what they are commissioned to do. Engineers, like spotters, always live with the people who work with. If they work with diggers, they will live in the flying machine with the digger and spotter. (Popular with Monster Girls)
Pirate: A type of criminal/bandit that uses high tech weapons and machinery to loot, plunder, and steal. They work in groups and families, and often reak havock to the innocent. Ones that are all or mostly monster girl members have a habit of having higher priority of kidnapping men to be their husband than their other duties. Diggers Usually are usually asked by the Digger's Guild to combat them whenever trouble arises.
Dig(Term): To go out on a dig or to say you are digging means you(the digger) are currently exploring a ruin or subgate.
Flying Machine: That's just the generic term for the mobile base for the digger. As the name describes, it's a flying base that serves as the fully functioning home and base of operations for the digger. It also contains a workshop for Engineers. All flying machines have at least 3 bedrooms for the digger, spotter, and engineer(with their workshop). Spotters, are the only one qualified to really pilot the flying machines. These flying machines are required for a digger to have. More often than not, they won't have weapons, however they usually do have good defenses and are very mobile.(Powered by Refractors)
Refractor: (Short for quantum refractor) These are large jewels that are a very powerful and very effective energy source for machines. The larger it is, the more powerful it is and the more Zenny you can get from it if you sell one. To buy or even sell one can fetch a hefty price, especially the more larger ones.(It is like how valuable gold was in the gold rush era in our universe. But that's just to give an idea).
Refractor Side Note: They are generally can be only obtained in Ruins. The more powerful and larger the refractor is, the higher the security there is. The more larger ones(like ones that can power flying machines or subs) are the beginning point where they become shielded with an energy field that can be only open by the console that's near by. However, they almost always require Starter Keys or (the less likely) Anthro ID Cards.
Starter Keys: They look like jumper plugs for a car save for the top part. These keys usually come in three(more for the ruins with higher security.) and are usually scattered within the ruins. Either in some rather obscure areas(very likely). Or found within Reaverbots.
Antro ID Cards: These High Level Security key cards are for the massive security computers that only appear in the most hard to find ruins and even then, ruins with these are extremely rare. Ruins with these keys usually have Reaverbots lurking around that are found in A and/or S ranking ruins. These computers usually opens the "Main gate" of a continent. However, there has been some cases where they lead to tremendously large Refractors. Please bare in mind that no one has lived to tell the tale of what exactly IS the "Main Gate" so info is especially limited. It is said that the main gate holds things dangerous, even for a S rank digger and it's believe that the treasures that lie in these "Main Gates" are greater than anyone's imagination.
Trap-Door Wedding(Term/Law): Within the Noir Continent there are strange laws made from Yukionna sensibility. However, this special law is their most infamous one. It was nicknamed the Trap-Door Wedding For a reason. You see, it's very similar to a shot gun wedding, but there are a few twists to it. If you were rescued by a Noir Continent citizen that's of the opposite sex and you are both single, you two are officially married. By law, you will also be required to have a proper wedding as well. Because of it, it's also seen as a blind wedding. Unfortunately, there is no way around it and divorces can only be made at least a year and a half after the wedding. For More details on the Noir Region, please refer to "MGE DASH Topography(Part II)" for info.
Flying Machine Commission Centers(Business): These types of business are basically a type of outlet and the interior often is mistaken for a travel agency. However, this is the ideal place to make a commission for your very own flying machine. There, you can talk to a representative of the workshop that makes Flying Machines. You optionally can talk (Via video phone) to the engineer to talk details and also specifications you want on them. However, this is only possible when they are available. Anyway, in the shop you will be able to discuss price and also what you want/need for this ship. This can also range from race specific modifications(for harpies, lamias, and centaurs for example) and any other comforts you want to be added your flying machine to begin with. Once you order has been made, you will be given a special electronic card that will give you a notice when it's complete. From there, they will personally deliver it to you on the closest landing strip near the city you made this order. If you don't quite have the moment to make commissions, some engineers do accept other forms of payment. If the main engineer is a single woman or monster girl, being a part of the digging crew is one valid form of payment to them(but that holds the implication that you have romantic feelings for them). On the other hand, they also will accept bodyguard duty and temporary guard jobs in the facility themselves in loo of payment.
The Roaming Market(Business/Special Service): Special markets that goes around the world and sells supplies to people who own flying machines. What they sell is only supplies need to survive on a flying machine(food, clothes, fuel, etc.).
The Traveling Restaurant(Business/Special Service): Special Restaurants that travel the world in areas where there are no near by cities and continents. Their clientele are mostly travelers with flying machines.
The High Speed Clinic(Special Service): Special hospitals that devote themselves to treat those who are no where neat a city or continent. They only can be found traveling in the sea.
Miitan Hugger(Slang, insult): It's digger's slang term that's used to call someone a big idiot or fool.
Jakko(Digger Slang): It's a name of a specific kind of reaverbot, but when used to describe someone it translates to someone that's really annoying or really irritating. In some contexts, it can even be seen as a digger's swear word. Only diggers (and some pirates) really use this language, but mostly adults of such a profession.
"...letting the Golbesh get the better of you."(Digger Slang/Phrase): It's a common phrase for diggers to describe someone that's impatient.
Digger's Tongue: Special phrases and terms/slang diggers (and some pirates) use in conversation. It's phrases and terms mostly come from references that only diggers would really know and understand.
Energy Canteen(Digger Tool): Also known as an E-can or more commonly as an E-Tank. Essentially, it's an energy container that's used to rejuvenate a digger when they are beaten up, worn out, or exhausted. It unique signature sends special signals to the POW suit to massage your body and help speed up the healing process a little bit. Despite popular belief, there's nothing really special in the E-tank. It's just a special thermos in actuality. You can place anything as a drink in there, but the E-tank itself gives it a special "charge" to make the drink have "healing" properties.
