There were once two brothers who lived in Saint Mou City. The older brother’s name is Edison and the younger brother’s was Ivan. Their father was a soldier of Saint Mou City, but he went missing after a mission, protecting a very important person. They never found him. This left their mother alone to raise them. Edison, now an 18 year old young male, had just finished his studies and as he ran to his house, his thoughts for his future were about join the military of Saint Mou City, partly so he could at least keep his mother and younger brother alive, and partly to find out what happened to his father. They never found his body, so it would make sense that he is still alive. Or at least that was what he hoped was the case.
"Mom,” Edison said “I'm thinking about joining the armies."
"What?! No, I can't let you do that, Ed." His mother replied, anger clearly showing on her face.
"But why? Ain't I am adult now?" Edison responded.
"What if you went missing like your dad?" She asked him back.
This struck a nerve at Edison. Not having a real answer, he decided to drop the subject.
"You know what, mom? Forget what I ever said." He said, walking to his room.
Secretly, he expected his mother would say that, so he had all his forms submitted to the military several days ago. His mother’s opinion wasn’t really important, since he really was an adult and could take care of himself, but he felt he needed to know what she would think when she realized what would happen to her first-born son.
"Hey bro, what happened outside?" his brother Ivan ask.
"Nothing. I was just thinking about ways on how to get more money for your studies," Edison replied casually.
"Why don't you become a mamono hunter. They make a lot of money nowadays." Ivan suggested.
"I didn't know people hunt mamono for money. Who told you that?" Edison asked.
"Well, my classmate. His father happens to be a mamono hunter and they’re living quite the life of luxury, if you know what I mean."
Edison shook his head and decided to store that little tidbit of information at the back of his head.
As Edison climbed up to his bed, Ivan returned to the desk he was sitting on, studying for the exam that will take place tomorrow. Edison let out a sigh, a mixture of uneasiness and anxiety, before he slept.

The next day
"Ed! There’s a letter for you!" His mother shouted.
He reached out and took the letter. The letter was from the Saint Mou Forces, which meant they had accepted Edison as a new recruit.
"Yes!" Edison shouted with a smile.
“What’s wrong, Ed?” his mother asked.
“Ermm, I got a job now.” He lied.
"That’s wonderful son. What job is that?"
"Emm... banker. I’m,a banker now."

The next day, inside Saint Mou Forces Headquarters
"What is your name, new guy?" The caption in heavy armor plate asked his name.
"My name is Edison Law, sir!" He replied smartly, adding a salute which was customary to military recruits upon entry.
"Law? I think I’ve heard of your last name before... wait a sec. Yeah, I remember now. One of our long term soldiers with that last name disappeared some time ago, right?"
"Yes, sir. He’s my father."
"I hope you’ll have better luck than your father." He patted Edison's shoulder. "You’ll have to start off as a guard. Let Ai show you the way to armory."
The girl in leather armor appeared from a door behind the captain, and she give Edison a smile. Edison nodded once but quickly averted his eyes to make himself less awkward.
"Please take care of me from now on," Edison said.
"I will. My name is Tataru Ai, yours?" Ai asked.
"Edison Law," he answered.
"You have cool last name." She joked, giving Edison a playful quick jab at his gut. She clearly didn’t put all of her strength in it, but her punch caused Edison to buckle slightly.
She took him to the armory. Inside the armory, there were rows upon rows of armor, weapons and equipment of different shapes and designs. Ai take out the basic guard equipment which, as Edison saw, was a piece leather armor, a helmet, a shiny grey whistle, boots, and a short sword. She blew the dust off of it and passed it to him.
"There you go," She smiled again.
"Dusty." He said, putting the leather armor on him.

"Let's go!" Ai said, while dragging Edison by his arm out of the armory.
"Wait, what about training?" He asked.
"Evening, we have it in the evening." She replied.
"Oh." Edison followed Ai to patrol the streets.
The first week, he tried to avoid the routes his mother would normally take and he almost bumped into her in market. Then they would have training in the evening each night, he never thought she was exceptional at fighting and got beaten by her 6 times.
"Ouch! That hurt!" He said, getting smacked on the neck by her wooden sword.
"You okay? I hope I’m not hitting you too hard." She said, while returning to her stance.
"I'm fine, I never thought you’re THAT good." He said, rubbing his neck.
Ai was fast, but noticed she lacked strength. Edison swung his wooden sword at her and their swords clashed together, he pushed his sword against hers, hoping he could win this power struggle at least once. However, Ai quickly turn around and accidentally tripped him with her feet.
"Whoa!?" Edison yelled in surprise as he stumble forward. "Watch out!" Ai yelled, grabbing his arm and trying to pull him back, but he was heavier than her though and they both fell together with Ai laying on top of Edison, face to face with each other. He could feel her breasts pressing into his chest and felt a slight erection growing.
"Err... Ai?" He noticed she stopped moving. Looking at her. Her face was red as a monkey's butt. "Ai?"
"Is... is that your...?" Ai could feel something hard touching her groin as well.
The captain just entered the room to take off his helmet, revealing a scar right between his eyes across his face, just noticing them on the floor.
"What in heaven's name are you two doing in the training room!?" The captain yelled.
"No... nothing!" Ai quickly gets up off of Edison.
"We were just training!" Edison stood up too.
"Training?" The Captain narrowed his eyes and looked at them, then he changed into his casual outfit from his armor and went out. "Well then, enjoy your training Ai."
"Yes, father." She saluted.
"What!? He’s your dad!? Why didn’t you tell me!?" Edison jumped and look at Ai.
"You never asked."
"Oh, I get it..." He scratched his head.
Edison went home in night for dinner and rest, he just thought thank god that his mother didn't ask him about his job during the week as a recruit. He walked into his room and saw his brother reading a book.
"How is your exam result, Ivan?" he asked his brother.
"Pretty good, bro." he answered.
"What are you reading?" He noticed the book title.
"'Monster Girl Encyclopedia', I like the dude who wro-"
"Give me that!" Edison forcefully took the book from him.
"Hey, what the fuck are you doing, bro!?" Ivan glared at him.
"How. In. The. World. You. Got. This!?" He questioned his brother like he was a criminal.
"My classmate!" He replied.
Edison threw the book at Ivan. "I don’t want to see that book again!!" He warned his brother before climbing into bed.
"Fuck you, Ed!" he cursed.
"Language!"

The next morning, Ivan doesn't greet his elder brother like he usually does. Edison looked at the date, the 13th of February, Ivan's 16th birthday. He had totally forgotten about it and wanted to make up for what he did last night. He went to the guard’s headquarter for guard duty but noticed Ai, very happy with a letter in her hand along with many other guards too.
"What's that letter?" He asked.
"My salary, we got 500 mingus each month." She said with a smile on her face. "Go claim yours too!"
"Salary..." He had an idea pop out in his head.

Edison and Ai started their patrol in the shopping district. He had been thinking that he could buy a present for his brother, Ivan. When he mentioned this to Ai, she immediately offered her assistance.
"What do you think your brother would like for a gift?" Ai asked.
"Well...he liked getting more info about Mamonos just for no reason" Edison said, scratching his head a bit while pondering what gift he should get.
"Okay... I don't think there is anything we could simply buy that is related to mamono. Maybe something simpler. What else?" Ai said, before she noticed a magic shop between a row of shops. "Does your brother have any interest in magic?"
"A little. He liked to collect magical rock, stone, jewel and stuff like that." Edison replied while looking around. He heard no response from Ai and when he turned to look at her, he noticed she was already halfway towards that magic shop.
"Ai?"
Edison followed her into a magic shop called "Might of Elvin". As he look around, there were all sorts of magical items. All over the shop, there were strange items like crystal balls, potions, staffs, books and magically enchanted weapons. A man in white robes could be seen sleeping on a table.
"Sir?" Ai poked the man. "Hello?"
"Uhh... Kumo... huh?" The man wake up and wiped saliva off his mouth. "Oh sorry, my name is Elvin. The shopkeeper of-"
"Let me guess. Elvin, right? Yeah, we get it," Edison said. "Do you have some magical gems for sale? Something not too expensive, if you don't mind."
"For your brother? I may have just what you're looking for," Elvin opened his drawer and took out two green jewels
(Question: Now how does Elvin know his brother?)
"The Jewels of bond!" He held it to Edison.
"Jewels of bond?" He took it from Elvin and looked at them.
"Yeah, they were found in the same rock. If one of the two wielders is in danger, the other jewel will glow in a different color depending on how great the danger is."
"How much?" Edison asked.
"Not much, just 560 mingus."
"Aw! That's way over my budget. I guess I'll just buy one then." he complained.
"You can't do that, sir. Why do you think they’re called the 'Jewels of bond'?" Elvin explained and adjusted his hat. "How much you got on you?"
"500 mingus,"
"Right, 500 mingus will do."
"I won't be back!" Edison left the money at the desk and promptly took the two jewels. "Thank you! And we will see about that." Elvin took the money and smiled.

After their shift ended, Edison felt slightly bummed about his purchase. He had spent all of his hard-earned money in just one day. Ai couldn't help but notice Edison's downcast look, but chose instead not to make any rude lectures and such. He did have the best of intentions, but may have chosen poorly about the gift he had bought. 'If he wanted something magical, he could have just taken a healing potion. That's nowhere near as expensive as those gems, but I guess he should learn to watch his wallet by himself' she rationalized.
After his evening training with the other guards, Edison went straight home. When he arrived, he ate silently and walked into his room. After a while, Ivan entered and sat down to read a book that was same as the one from yesterday.
"You really like that book, don't you?" Edison asked.
"Yeah, so? Why do you even care!?"
"Look, I’m sorry for what I did last night, but happy birthday!" Edison said, holding out the Jewels of bond in his hand. "Here's your present."
Ivan lowered his book and took one for closer inspection. "Jewels of bond, eh? This is rare stuff, Edison. This can't be cheap..."
"What about the another one?" Edison ask.
"Keep it, bro" Ivan said. "It is jewels of bond after all and I've read all about them from my studies, and thanks." Ivan wore the jewel around his neck and went back to reading his book.

Next day, he returned to his job. Only to find out the guards in Headquarter were wounded or knocked out. He worried about Ai and looked for her. He search through washrooms, locker rooms, training rooms until he found Ai's father, the captain of the guards, lightly wounded and knocked out.
"Are you okay, sir!?" He woke him up and helped him up.
"Arghh... my head, what is happening!?" Captain asked.
"I don’t know, sir." He replied.
"Where is Ai!?" Captain questioned.
"I’m still looking for her, sir." Edison answered.
"Let's go look for her then!" Captain and Edison searched together for her, seeing dead bodies at the main hall. They see Ai being captured by a female succubus who is sitting on a chair.
"Don't come any closer!" Ai shouted.
"Ai, I’m coming for you!"
"No! Stop!"
Edison ran to her, only to get shocked by a force field surrounding her.
"Let her go, you demon!" Captain pulled out his katana while taunting the succubus.
The succubus opened her eyes and stood up, spreading her wings. "I’ve been expecting you, Edison Law."
"How did you know my name!?" He asked.
"Your father, Edward Law, took something really important to our lord. I want you to find him or this..." She start choking Ai lightly as she sees captain trying to get closer. "Pretty little girl becomes one of us."
"My father...? Didn’t he die because of the... mamono?" Edison widened his eyes and looked at the succubus.
"He’s alive, somewhere in the West. We can sense him but only the bond of bloods can find him. Don't forget to get strong, my lord... will need your soul too." The succubus looked at Edison with her lust-filled eyes and licked her upper lips. "We will meet again."
She then chanted some spell and a magical picture appeared on the floor, then she disappeared along with Ai. "Ai!!" the captain ran to where she was. Edison still dumbfounded about what she said, him being a not-so normal person after all.
"You’re the one who’s responsible for this!" The captain grabbed Edison's shoulder and snapped him out.
"I... I will do what she said and find Ai," Edison slapped his hand away from his shoulder. "And I will look for my father," He said as he was about to leave.
"Wait, she is my daughter too. I will be coming with you," Captain joined Edison. "Yes, sir." He said.
"Call me Genji, Tataru Genji" Genji introduced himself as captain.
"Alright, sir Genji. Before that, I’m gonna find someway to tell my family about that... can't leave without leaving a message after all." Edison sighed.

Edison writes a message on a piece of paper, he snuck into his home in the night when his family members were sleeping. He treaded lightly to avoid making noise to wake up his mother and brother. Edison then left the message on the table before making his departure.
He made his way to the outskirts of Saint Mou city to meet up with Genji at a small camp fire, Genji had prepared a variety of equipment for Edison such as leather armor, a small backpack and a short sword. He held out a flask filled with pure clean water.
"This water's for drinking?" Edison asked.
"No, it is the Holy water of light, if you find yourself lost in darkness. It will brighten your path and guide you to safety," Genji replied.
"Thank you, sir Genji," Edison took the flask and asked. "I’ve never been outside before, do you know where we‘re going?"
Genji sat down and rolled open a map beside the camp fire. "You see this town not so far away from Saint Mou? That is Vorman Town, where human and mamono live together, we will go there first," Genji pointed at the small house icon on it.
"Wait, there are two paths..." Edison noticed the paths split up. "Which path will we use?"
"We’ll take the long path," He said.
"Why don't we take the shortcut?" Edison suggested.
"There’s a lot of dangerous mamono in the shorter path, we can't risk it." Genji stood with his idea. "I still remember those slimes and amazons..."
They put out the camp fire, packed up and began their journey at night. Edison felt worried as they travelled through the forest in darkness. Until dawn comes, they took a rest beside a small well and drank water from it. After an hour of rest, they filled their bottles with clean well water and continued their path. Edison saw some skeletons shattered across the path and it reminded him of these stink of the rotten bodies of the Saint Mou soldiers who had died in war in the past while he waited for his father to return, which he never returned... His body never been found.

At dusk, when they were about to get some rest, a man wielding blades and wearing a cloak stood before them.
"Halt! If you want to pass me in one piece, give out all you can give." He pointed his blade at Edison and Genji.
"Criminals these days, you have to take them out before they can do more damage." Genji said, while pulling his katana out. "Watch closely."
The bandit quickly charged towards Genji as he raised his katana. Edison quickly reacted by drawing his sword out. "Out of the way, Law!" He shouted at him and he stood in front while Edison complied. Genji then swung his katana downward into the ground, still far from the bandit‘s position.
"What the?" Edison looked at Genji.
"Don't worry, look at him," He said, putting his katana back into his scabbard.
The bandit who was standing in front of them just stopped his movement, his face suddenly split in half with blood spraying out, much to Edison’s surprise.
"Holy cow! Is that magic?" Edison jumped back and asked.
"Not at all, skill." Genji said, walking past Edison.
"Okay..." Edison looked at the body, he doesn't even bother to loot it fearing it may affect his sanity. He followed Genji and sighed.

They set up tents nearby for the night. Edison staring into the camp fire, thinking about his family and his father. "Edison." Genji tapped his back with his own short sword.
"What is it, sir Genji?" He turn his head to Genji.
"Let me teach you that ability I pulled off earlier, it will help you in future battles." Genji held out Edison's short sword to him.
"Sure, why not?" Edison smiled, standing up and grabbed his sword.
"Steady your breath, balance your body, ready your sword and swing!" he instructed. "You said it wasn't magic, how is that possible?" Edison said as he swung his sword.
"It's about how hard and clean you swing your sword. Try again!" Genji said.
"Hmm! Nothing... Yeargh! (Sigh)... sir, I don't think it’s possible for me to do," He said, lowering his sword.
"Give me your sword, son." Edison give his sword to Genji. "Watch again."
He pointed it at a leaf on a tree. He swung the sword without much effect and cut the leaf down from a distance. Then he returned the sword to Edison and pats his shoulder. "My daughter's life still depends on you..." Genji said, getting into his tent.
Edison closed his eyes and thinks back Genji's movement. He readied the sword, rose it and swung. "One... two... three!" He thought about while repeating his swings again. A few hours of non stop swinging, he finally made a cut at the outer layer from a tree in front of him.
"I did it!" He looked at Genji, already fallen asleep. "Well, practice makes perfect."
He rubbed his left eye as he felt sore and tired, then he crawled into his tent and slept for the night…

"This water's for drinking?" Edison asked.
"No, it is the Holy water of light, if you find yourself lost in darkness. It will brighten your path and guide you to safety," Genji replied.
"Thank you, sir Genji," Edison took the flask and asked. "I’ve never been outside before, do you know where we‘re going?"

A few minutes later, everything just went completely silent. "I wonder what happened ahead." Edison thought. "HELP!!!" A female voice screamed.
Edison heard the scream and ran to its source. While running past some bushes and tall grass, a girl rammed into him and caused him to fall on his back.
"Wait a minute, this feels familiar somehow??" He thought to himself as he felt something heavy and soft on his stomach, he raises head and look at the girl. "What the... ma... mamono?"
She has white and black hair, a pair of small horns on her head, pair of cow ears is under it, she also have a pair of furry cow legs and pair of... huge breasts?
"Please... help me..." The holstaurus girl whispered.
Suddenly, two men in fur coats dived out from the bushes. The first one did a successful landing roll while the other one landed face first, planting his head into the dirt. Edison couldn't help but chuckled from what he saw.
"There you are! Stop running and we won't hurt you, Rudos." The man said while pointing his pistol at her while his other partner got up and dusting off his face.
"N-no! You people hunt us for your own desire!" Said the holstaurus, then she turned to Edison. "Please, keep them away from me!"
Edison doesn't know what to do; he just lay there, looking at the holstaurus and the two guys there.
"Yo, you’d better just walk away, so we won't hurt you either." The other man pointed his pistol at Edison as well.
"What should I do? Save this mamono who doesn't have anything to do with me and risk getting shot to death? Or just walk away?" Edison thought as he made a choice. He pushed the holstaurus away from him and stands up, he then takes a few steps away from her. "What...? No..." Tears formed in her eyes.
"Wise choice you’ve made young man." One of them walked toward the holstaurus and pull her away by her hair.
"Ahh!! Please!! I beg you! Help!" The holstaurus cried as she was being pulled away.
"Shut the fuck up, Rudos!"
Each scream heard from the holstaurus was like a spike impaling into his mind and sanity. Edison narrowed his eyes, clenching his fists and biting his lower lip. Edison made another choice from his determinable mind.
"Let, Her, Go!" He stomped at the dirt and yelled at them.
"Oh? What if we don't?" One of them turned around and faced Edison.
"I will force you to!" Edison pulled out his short sword as he taunted them.
"Oh? A grave decision you’ll make young man." He pointed his gun at Edison again while he thought about last night, trying to get the same feeling he had when he successfully made the first wind of blade. ‘One, two, three!!!’ His mind screamed as he swiped his sword at the air toward that man.
That man thought he missed, but then he felt a sharp pain on his right arm. When he looked at his arm, he noticed it was bleeding. "What the hell!?" He dropped his pistol in pain.
As he dropped his gun, Edison noticed this would be the best chance for another strike. He quickly charge towards the man and rammed him down with his shoulder. He thought his thanks to Ai's training in regards to quicker reaction time. Before the man could recover, Edison quickly kicked him in the face and knocking him out.
The other man, surprised by Edison's sudden attack aimed his gun at him, pulling the trigger and hitting him in right shoulder, "Ahhhrgh!!!" Edison yelled from the pain. "You bastard!!!" The man tried to finish him off, aiming for his head next, but before he could react, he suddenly felt a sharp pain of a blade piercing his back, through the heart and out his chest, killing him instantly before the blade was quickly pulled out of him, leaving the man to drop dead.
"Genji!?" Edison sighed in relief as he noticed who his saviour was; he then swatted the blood off his katana and placed it back in the scabbard. That holstaurus quickly ran to Edison and checked his wound. "Ar-are you okay?"
"It’s just a fle- Awwwww!! Don't touch it!" Edison felt the bullet embedded in his shoulder. Genji picked up a pistol from one of them and he sighed. "Mamono hunters… Not bad for your first real fight, son." He tossed the gun to Edison. "P-08, you will need it."
"Hold still, I-I will try to treat the wound." She put her hand on Edison's forehead, relieving the pain somehow as he felt the warmth of her hand. "What is your name?"
"Edison, Edison Law... your?" he said.
"Ju-just call me Rudos, okay?" She introduced herself while treating his wound.

A few hours later, Rudos had finished managing his gunshot wound, stopping the bleeding and covering it up with bandages. While she was doing first aid, Edison couldn’t help but notice her pair of huge breasts pressing him a few times while being treated.
"Thanks, Rudos." He said as he looked at the bandage that’s covering his shoulder.
"No... I should be the one thanking you, for saving me back there." Rudos blushed and shakes her head in approval.
"Well, you’ve made it up by healing me. It's fine now."
"That won't do, because of me. You got shot, there should be more I can do. Until then...Please let me stay with you!" Rudos bows to Edison.
"Oooookay... that'sss... good." Edison couldn't deny her.
"Great... a new friend, the more the merrier..." Genji whispered under his armor.
In light of his current experience, Edison was starting to develop a different opinion toward the mamono instead of his initial thoughts of hating them.

After hours of walking until evening, they set up tents beside the road and Genji decides to train Edison more on basic combat.
"Swing faster! Cleaner movement!" Genji shouted as he’s dodging Edison's sword, then he readied his katana. "And watch my movement!"
Genji quickly swung his katana at Edison, but he crouched quickly to dodge it. "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!" He yelled as he continued to parry a few incoming swings from Genji, who then kicks Edison down and points his blade at his throat. "Will you yield?"
"I will not!" Edison swings his blade at Genji's katana and rolled away to stand up.
"Very good, son. You have potential to become a Saint Mou soldier, like your father. Warm hearted and determinate." Genji said as he put his katana back into his scabbard while Rudos was watching them while she sat beside of camp fire.
"How much do you know about my father?" Edison questioned as he sat down beside Rudos who was blushing a bit. "Much, we were team-mates and he was my... best friend." Genji sits down on the opposite side of camp fire.
"We were top rank soldiers of Saint Mou up until our last mission... To eliminate all mamono in a town west of Saint Mou..." Rudos widened her eyes and shocked from what Genji said. "As soon as our troops arrived in that town, we drawn our blades... there was mass innocent murdering... including the humans, but Edward and I tried to stop them. We failed, however Edward found the last mamono. A young holstaurus, he carried her to safety and he never returned..."
"So that's how he went missing... eh? Rudos?" Edison notice Rudos is shuddering while staring into the camp fire. "Rudos, are you okay?"
"Tha... That’s your father...?" Tears began to form in Rudos's eyes. "I... I... I... pushed him off a cliff!!!"
Rudos cries out as she bowed down to Edison. As the camp fire flashed, Genji noticed Edison's shadow become the figure of a demon in a split second. "Hm...?"
"I am sorry!! I am sorry!! I didn't mean it!" Rudos kept bowing to Edison, begging his forgiveness.
"You're that holstaurus!?" Edison narrowed his eyes, looking down at Rudos. Who then sobbed and said "Yes.. I am... I was so angry that time, the feeling of my parents murdered right in my sight had given me so much pain..."
"Well, since that succubus said he's still alive... I somehow have faith in her." He scratched his head, Genji then opened his mouth. "What? You got charmed by her?"
"No, not really. If my father isn't alive, she’d have no reason to capture your daughter and blackmail me to find my father." Edison shakes his head. "I just have no forsaken clue where in the world he’d be in the west."
"Well, old bone like me needs to get some sleep." Genji gets into his tent to sleep as he remembered about what that succubus said and thought. ‘The cursed soul for sacrifice to the Demonlord...?’
Edison pats on Rudos's shoulder, she rose her head and looked at him. "Don't worry, I'm not angry anyways... But how’s your life after that?"
"I... I wandered into Vorman Town and they adopted me, then became a nurse as I grew up." Rudos replied shyly.
"Many good people in Vorman Town, eh? How come you got hunted by two mamono hunters yesterday?"
"Well, he said we can have... Have a better life together in Saint Mou, I loved him and I... I didn't know he was a mamono hunter until his friend showed up, so I ran away." She said, looking away from Edison.
"I won't look down on you, Rudos. We are friends now, right?" Edison pats Rudos on her shoulder again.
"Friends? Ye-yeah." Rudos blushed even more.

"Finally..." Edison sighed in relief as he saw the buildings and walls of Vorman Town.

As they walk into Vorman Town, Edison saw many kinds of mamono along with human together all over the streets. To him, it was a sign of peace. They walked into a Tavern(Or restaurant), with a lamia waitress sliding towards them with her long snake tail.
"Welcome and please have a seat!" She welcomed them.

"I will have some fried noodles and some red hot tea." Genji said, putting down his menu.
"Eh..." Edison said, still looking at the menu, ‘That's a lot of food’ He thought.

"Half boiled cockatrice egg? And... soy milk." Edison said before putting down his menu too.
"Alright! What about you, holstaurus?" The lamia asked after she was done writing Edison/Genji’s order on paper and turned to Rudos.
"I... I will have salad and water." She replied nervously.
"Please wait," the waitress said. As she slid away into the kitchen, Rudos then tapped Edison's shoulder.
"Are you sure about the half boiled cockatrice?" She asked as Edison looked at her,
"Yeah, I don't see why not?"
"Do you know what a cockatrice is?"
"Another kind of chicken?"
"No... It’s another kind of harpy mamono."
"For real?! Would eating that make me some sort of cannibal?" He exclaimed.
"Don't worry, the egg isn't fertilized." Genji explained.
The lamia waitress then slid out from the kitchen with food on some serving plates in each of her hands, then she put the food on the table carefully. "There you go." Edison stared at the bowl of the half boiled cockatrice egg, deciding whether he should eat it or not while Genji slurped some fried noodle and Rudos puts a chopped tomato in her mouth, then they both staring at Edison while chewing their food.
"Are you gonna eat that Edison?" Rudos asked while she swallowed her tomato.
"It's not good wasting food you know." Genji said while he sipped some more noodle.
Edison rose his arm and summoned the lamia waitress, asking for recommendations at eating the egg, "Add some soy sauce and pepper powder then mix them together, you’ll love it!" Edison does so and takes a small sip from it, he found the taste pretty good and unique. After they finished eating, they paid and went to a weapon shop nearby.
"Hmm... not good enough..." Genji whispered in his armor while looking at a normal length sword. Rudos and Edison simply glanced at the various piles of weapons in the shop "At least it’s better than that short sword Edison has... I will have it."
He paid the shopkeeper and left the weapon shop. As the trio started looking for a inn for night, Edison noticed a statue in the middle of the town.
"Who’s that?" Edison asked.
"He is Kart Vorman, the one who built this town." Rudos answered. "To make peace between human and mamono, he was also father in law of many mamono and also took care of me for many years..."
"A good person, huh?" Edison replied, then he say. " Where is he now?"
"He... he was murdered by someone, someone who was wearing a particular robe, had a scarface and was a gunner..."
Rudos answered in depression. "Sorry about that, Rudos..."
They turn a corner and Edison accidentally bumped into a girl, who fell down on her bottom. "Ow." Edison saw her underwear under her skirt by accident and noticed she had a tail, a pair of horns, bat wings, a pair of nice breasts and long beautiful pink hair.
"Oh, sorry... lady?" He apologised and held his hand out. "Are you okay?"
"It's okay, I'm fine." She replied before she took his hand to stand up and pats the dust off her skirt.
"Ah, Rudos. Long time no see." The succubus noticed Rudos before greeting her.
