"If you would like Athena, and I could run ahead. We have no offensive attacks that can effect his pokemon." I say remembering how he slipped past Athena, and almost captured Adea. "If we can deliver this information to anyone in Palette, we can at least be of some use in this situation."

Asmund hummed to himself at Nate's suggestion for his words did have merit, like Clair's suggestion. Looking over he caught sight of Reyn's partner Heracross. Sure, fighting types were good against dark types, but Sableye was also a Ghost type which made every fighting and regular move Heracross knew void. But if they went with Nate... The Metalnian nodded to himself before looking back at Nate.
"Your idea also has merit behind it Sir Nate, but it would be unwise to go alone with the state of affairs. A slight change of plans is needed." He looked to Reyn.
"Sir Reyn, along with Heracross go with Sir Nate and Athena, and help each other reach the castle together. Odds are the others will have rallied and expelled those that attacked the castle. They may have even found Sir Kanbei or he may have escaped imprisonment." He looked between the pair while adjusting a shoulder strap.
"Be quick, be swift and be safe. May the Beast Trio guide your steps."

Gabriel looks on in surprise as the three grunts get thrown into the hall by Kanbei's Slaking. marveling in the show of force he makes a note to not tussle with him til he's much stronger. "Impressive Sir Kanbei. Your Slaking is a force to be reckoned with. Much respect." He says as he bows ever so slightly to the pokemon as does Deino.

Asmund and Nate:
Clair has her Swinub use Odor Sleuth on the man and his Pokemon locking onto their scent. Reyn then nods at Asmund's suggestion "Right, me and Heracross will go too...we will try to reach the others and get some healing supplies to fix your Beldum up, the rest of you be careful." He then looks to Nate "Alright let's get going."
Ivadi and Gabriel:
Kanbei looks to both groups and lets out a relieved sigh "Good, it seems like most of you are alright...it seems seven of you are still unaccounted for including Lady Edea."
Peter then speaks up "Sir Kanbei, it appears the castle has been cleared out of intruders...if you are going to look for the others I would like to join you."
"No." Kanbei says gruffly "It is too dangerous, these invaders are quite crafty to have infiltrated the castle so easily, and I fear we have yet to see what they are truly capable of."
"If you think that is the case then we should help you." Cassandra says boldly stepping forward with her Riolu "Forgive me Sir Kanbei, but I think some of us should go with you, the intruders are impersonating the guards, one of them was even able to pass off as you using her Zorua, that was how they were able to lure the real guards away."
"I see, that explains a lot." Kanbei says in a worried tone "Alright, I don't really like the idea, but if any of you want to assist me the come along the rest of you can hold up in here to stay safe."
Cassandra and Peter along with there Pokemon quickly step up next to Kanbei and his Slacking looking back to the rest of the group to see who else joins.
Asmund:
You and the others slowly begin to make your way back to the castle, moving carefully to not give the prisoner a chance to escape. Yuri speaks up while the group travels "I wonder who is behind this...these attackers seem more organized than typical bandits."
"True, but it doesn't matter who is leading them at the moment they will all be defeated and driven from here regardless." Ashley says coldly "In Varlox we deal with thugs like you in a much harsher manner."
"W-wait, your the Varlox princess Ashley Crimson!?" The man says nervously "We weren't supposed to attack you...we are going to be in so much trouble when this is over..."
"Just what is that supposed to mean!?" Ashley shouts
"Relax, he is likely trying to anger you to act reckless and give him a chance to escape." Yuri says in an attempt to calm Ashley down.
Nate:
You and Reyn quickly make your way back to the village. Upon entering you spot the end of a battle between Zelos and one of the intruders and her Purrloin. "Purrloin, use Foul Play on that fool!" Purrloin then turns Lotad's power against it damaging it (-10 Hp).
Zelos then huffs in an annoyed tone "Damn this is annoying, Lotad finish this with another Giga Drain." Lotad then saps Purrloin's energy knocking it out (-12 Hp) and then recovers some of its own strength from Purrloin's taken energy (+5 Hp).
Lotad gains 85 experience points and reaches level 6.
Lotad: 11/22 Hp
Purrloin: 0/20 Hp
Zelos sighs as his foe runs away, turning around he then spots you and Reyn "Ah you two...what a fine mess we have stepped in. Some people who appear to be guards are locking up people in their homes, they don't even have normal type Pokemon to boot they all have Dark type Pokemon, so I have no idea what's going on."
"W-what?" Reyn says with a confused look "They all have Dark type Pokemon in the village, but the thugs who attacked us in the forest used Ghost type Pokemon...what does this mean, I suppose guessing will get us no where. Zelos where are the others? We were able to get some information from one of the attackers after we captured him that my prove useful."
"I hope it's good information, because I'm pretty sure everyone knows the village is being attacked already." Zelos says sarcastically "But anyways, I guess they would be at the castle holding the line...I haven't seen or heard from any of them out here since all this started. Alright, the two of you go on ahead and deliver that info, and I will stay back here and assist with handling the prisoner when they catch up."

Asmund gave another nod to Reyn before he, Nate and their partners left. A small smile formed at the thought of getting Beldum healed but he schooled his features, that comes later after they succeeded in getting to the castle. It seems that today still had surprises for the group with the captive's reaction to Ashley's identity.
'Now isn't that interesting, for him to react like that...' His eyes narrowed as he looked at the captives back while they walked. He scratched his chin while giving a hum.
"So Lady Ashley wasn't supposed to be a target." His comment was off-hand, as if he were speaking about the weather. "Makes me wonder if there are other heirs they were supposed to avoid."

"The information is as follows. We captured, and interagated one of the intruders. He claims that that he was to capture Edea so Kanbei would surrender without a fight, and that Steelfist and Wattray have both fallen. That is what he claims anyway." I then turn to Reyn. "If they are truly using dark pokemon I regret to say Athena, and I will be leaning on you if it comes to another battle. We will lend as much support as we are able."

(Sorry for the long delay everyone I have been rather busy lately, and had some computer issues.)
Nate:
"Hmm, sounds pretty drastic if any of it is true, but if you think it's too dangerous then you should give these to your Pokemon if they get in a pinch." Zelos says flatly as he hands you and Reyn one Oran Berry each. "The lady at the berry shop gave me a bit of supplies after she healed Lotad and everything started going crazy she even gave me a Revival Herb in case things got too dangerous."
Reyn nods as he gives his Oran Berry to Heracross "Thanks Zelos, stay safe...alright lets head out Nate."
As you quickly travel through the village you find in eerily quiet until you and Reyn spot the end of a battle between one of the invaders and her Absol, and a young villager with his Lickitung. Behind the boy is a small band of more villagers and their Pokemon who all appear to have been defeated...
The woman then orders her Pokemon "Absol use Sucker Punch on Lickitung!" Absol charges forward with an underhanded strike to take out the Lickitung and end the battle (-13 Hp).
Absol: 13/23
Lickitung: 0/25
"Argh, I-I can't lose here..." The boy says as his Lickitung is knocked back into him and they both fall to the ground knocked out.
The woman smirks as she gives her Pokemon a Oran Berry "Good job Absol, without their teacher those kids were easy pickings..." She then trails off as she notices you and Reyn "This should be interesting...I hope the two of you put up a better fight than that brat and his friends."
Reyn quickly steps forward along with his partner and then looks back at you "I know your unsure about battling Dark type Pokemon, so I'll face her while you go on ahead and-"
He is quickly cut off by the woman "I won't let either of you escape, Absol use Perish Song!" The foe Pokemon then unleashes a sinister melody and a dark ring of light surrounds the three of you and your Pokemon. The woman then sneers as the ring begins to slowly close in "You only have a short amount of time to defeat me before that attack takes all of us out."
"Damn, looks like we have no choice to but for the both of us to battle her now." Ryen says as he prepares to battle

After the two of you speak and take a spot next to Kanbei and Cassandra the two groups of heirs quickly gather together to discuss a plan, they all talk among themselves quietly until Peter and his Foongus, Aidan and his Litwick, and the heir from Orris and his Aron step up together as Aidan speaks up "We decided this was the most efficient way to divide our forces."
Kanbei then nods as the search party gathers together "Alright, I have no idea what we will be facing once we leave the castle we are limited on warriors and supplies so try to make every move count...I apologize I do not have any healing items to help, but I will do my best to protect each of you."
"Um excuse me." A castle maid says as she approaches everyone with a small basket of berries, she also appears to be one of the maids that Ivadi's group protected earlier "I-I never did get to thank those that saved us from those horrible men earlier, so I looked into the pantry's emergency supplies to give you these..." She is able to give all the heirs an Oran Berry and Kanbei a Sitrus Berry.
"Thank you, this may turn things in our favor." Kanbei says as he gives his berry to Slacking to hold "Alright, once everyone is prepared we will leave, if you have anything you want to say before we leave I suggest you do so now because I believe we have a tough battle ahead of us."
Asmund:
"Me too, if any of that is true then it seems to imply that perhaps some kingdoms are involved in this attack...not that I believe Ashley or any of the others are truly involved, because I would hate to believe such a horrible thing." Clair says after you speak
"B-bah, I'm not giving away anymore information." The captured man says loudly
Ashley sighs trying to calm down "I-It has to be a lie...I refuse to believe my father would be a part of something so despicable." The others all remain silent at this comment pondering the implications of it being true as the group finally reaches the village gate. Upon reaching the village you quickly spot Zelos and his Lotad who appear to be on lookout, once he spots you and the group he signals for everyone to come over.

"I wouldn't have abandoned you anyway. Athena, and I may not be able to do much damage, but we can act as support! You just focus on taking her out before that ring closes in. Athena start with growl!"
(By my calculations Reyn's Herracross should be at 23 hp.)

Hearing Clair words made Asmund glad that someone from the group was thinking along similar lines as he was. He passed her a nod as they walked, giving their captive a cool silence. His mind on the other hand was awhirl when Ashley spoke, not knowing what the answers he sought could be. Until they got proof they couldn't place her father as the culprit and odds were he wasn't at fault anyway.
Seeing Zelos waiting for them up ahead the Metalnian placed his thoughts aside for now. Raising a hand in greeting.
"Greetings be to you, Sir Zelos. It is good to see both yourself and your partner unharmed." He grasped their prisoner on the arm, feeling the man flinch.
"We've captured one of the enemy members as you've no doubt heard from Sir Nate and Sir Reyn. I take it you were waiting for us so we can regroup with the others at the castle?"
Seeing Zelos waiting for them up ahead the Metalnian placed his thoughts aside for now. Raising a hand in greeting.
"Greetings be to you, Sir Zelos. It is good to see both yourself and your partner unharmed." He grasped their prisoner on the arm, feeling the man flinch.
"We've captured one of the enemy members as you've no doubt heard from Sir Nate and Sir Reyn. I take it you were waiting for us so we can regroup with the others at the castle?"

Ivadi and Gabriel:
The others all nod in agreement after giving each of their Pokemon the berries they received. Kanbei then looks to his partner Slacking who lets out an annoyed grunt as it lazily gets up to it's feet "Alright, if that is the case then let's head out." He pauses to address the others "Block the doors as we leave and be mindful before you decide to let anyone in, as at least one of the invaders can alter their appearance to fool you."
The six of you and Kanbei then step outside the castle and the outside appears to be rather deserted, however as you approach the castle gate leading to the village several of the invader appear to be blocking the way with a few of them being familiar one being Leopold and his Grimer the warrior Ivadi battled earlier, and the other being Robin and her Zorua that Gabriel battled, and they are also accompanied by a slightly older female warrior with long purple hair and her partner Misdreavus...along with a few more grunts still in the fake guard armor.
Leopold steps up as the Kanbei and the others prepare to defend themselves "Well-well, what do we have here...the old man himself and a handful of the warlords in training just the people I was wanting to bump into. We are ready to accept your surrender gramps."
He is then interrupted by Peter "Your the scoundrel that we defeated in the castle, who are you to be making such demands!?"
Leopold scoffs and dismissively turns away "Quiet boy the grown ups are talking, besides like I already said before I was only stalling for time in that battle...I had no real interest in winning. Now, back to the matter at hand what is your answer Kanbei?"
Kanbei scowls "If you believe I will hand over my lords castle over to mere ruffians like you for one second you're more delusional than I though."
Leopold sarcastically laughs "Look around you old man the deck is stacked against you, to start our lovely silent assassin Robin sent your real guards to the far corners of your territory away form this battle while posing as you. Then, Andrea and her team warriors using ghost type Pokemon managed to get your princess Edea and some of the other royal brats away with no protection...and captured Edea..."
"W-WHAT!?" Kanbei shouts in disbelief "You must be lying, where is your proof!?"
"...You know I'm wondering that myself..." Leopold says as he says looking back at Andrea "You said you captured her...but I haven't seen her yet myself, so tell your men to hurry up the old man won't fold without proof."
Andrea then looks on nervously "O-of course I caught her, how could I fail when the rest of you succeeded..." She quickly turns towards the village "Oh, I see someone approaching that must be my warriors bringing her here..." She then trails off turning pale as it is Nate and Reyn along with their Pokemon instead "N-no, not you two your going to ruin EVERYTHING!!" She shouts throwing a childish fit.
Nate:
"Argh, damn I can't believe I lost to you brats...I'll get you back for this!" The woman shouts as she throws down a smoke bomb to cover her escape with her Pokemon.
Reyn looks on as as she flees turning his attention to the knocked out students "I would like to help them, but I don't think we have the time to assist them all...I think they will be fine if Zelos and the others aren't too far behind us, so I think we should keep going."
The two of you keep going and as you reach the gate to the castle courtyard you see Andrea and her Misdreavus and more of the invaders as Kanbei and some of the others stand off against them. When Andrea see you she turn pale and beings to throw a tantrum "N-no, not you two...you're going to ruin EVERYTHING!!"
Asmund:
As you speak Zelos nods and crosses his arms "Yeah, they told me everything. They also said that your Pokemon was knocked out in the battle to capture our new 'friend', so I have this for you..." He then reaches into his pocket and hands you a Revival Herb "That should bring you Beldum back up to speed, though the lady at the shop told me it's rather bitter, so much that even Pokemon that normally love bitter food can't stand it." He then turns his attention to the prisoner "Now, as for you what to you have to say about yourself?" He says giving the prisoner a stern look as he crosses his arms.
The man simply grumbles to himself not even lifting his head to look at Zelos, he just simply looks down in defeat as you hold him.
"Ha, well you can write to us all about it from you new home in prison." Zelos says gleefully taunting the man "Besides, who in your little merry band had the bright idea to attack to attack Palette...I mean even if you succeeded here our parents who are much-much stronger than us would not stand for this."
"...I think that is enough Zelos, taunting a helpless prisoner will get us nowhere...besides the others need us." Yuri says placing a hand on his shoulder.

With a nod Asmund grabbed the Revival Herb from Zelos and, after giving their prisoner a quick glance, stepped aside for some room. Taking off his coat Asmund gently placed his partner on the ground and undid the straps. Looking at the herb a moment, Asmund nodded to himself before folding the herb leaves between his hands. Eyes focused the man began rubbing his hands together hard, crushing the plant leaves. Since he didn't have a mortar on hand this was the second best thing he could do. Helped that Asmund had prior experience.
Nose crinkling at the scent, the Metalnian spared a quick glance towards the prisoner's direction before stopping. Opening his hands slowly he gazed at his work. Seeing the herb leaved moderately crushed Asmund immediately cupped the herb in one hand before placing it over Beldum's head, below the eye. It was always a mystery on how his partner actually ate but at the moment Asmund didn't care, he was simply relieved as his partner began to devour the herb pieces.
Lifting his hand away the others would see only a few pieces left on Asmund's hand, the rest having vanished down Beldum's gullet. For a moment Beldum was still, before giving a great shudder, or as much of a shudder a block of living metal could give. Rising from his partners jacket Beldum wobbled in the air before straightening itself. It opened it's single eye, seeing Asmund's relieved face facing it.
"Glad to see you return my friend. I'm sorry I had to give you such a bitter tasting herb but it was needed and time is something we don't have." Picking up his jacket from the ground, Asmund shook off whatever dirt remained before putting it on. The whole time he had yet to break eye contact from Beldum.
"Dum, Belbeldum." Rising higher, Beldum swung around and 'lightly' swatted Asmund on the shoulder before resuming it's usual place. Despite this the man simply chuckled.
"Yes, I know my friend, I'm just glad you're alright." Rubbing his arm where his partner has swatted him, he turned back to the group. Smile disappearing, he resumed his previous post by the prisoner. He then looked at Zelos and Yuri.

Reyn chimes in on Nate's statement "Right, we captured your ally and he told us everything!"
Leopold just sighs covering his face with his left hand after Reyn speaks "I should of expected you to fail Andrea you're useless like always, I would of dealt with capturing her myself, but I knew you couldn't be trusted to handle my end of the job."
"B-but, there was too many of them..." Andrea start to plead
Leopold holds up his hand glaring at her with an annoyed expression "I don't want to hear it, if we get through this without much more trouble I'll consider not telling Waylon how you messed this up...now stand back and watch as I clean up your mess." He says arrogantly as he reaches into his pockets and pulls out what appears to be a signal horn.
"What, do you think calling for reinforcements will protect you from my wrath?" Kanbei says in an angered tone.
Leopold sneers as he quickly blows on the horn and it makes a loud flat sound that seems to resonate through the entire village "Not quite gramps, you see while Robin was busy sending your forces away and Andrea was...wasting time I was in charge of something much more important. In case all else failed and we were forced to battle you old man I was in charge of 'tipping the scales' in our favor, because after you are arguably one of the strongest warriors in the region you could likely take out most of our infiltration team without breaking a sweat, so last night my men and I made our way into the village and set some traps on all of the defensive structures in Palette, and now that I sent the signal my men will level the village's defenses letting our main army march straight to you old man, and not even you can hold them all off!"
Before anyone can act, just as Leopold had said several of Palette's key defensive structures are begin to crumble simultaneously through the village, causing the ground to mildly quake from the damage.
Kanbei shouts his voice filled with rage "Y-You FIEND, I will make you pay for what you've done ten-fold. Slacking use-!" However, his command is cut off as four Mightyena charge in and ambush Slacking with Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Poison Fang, and Thunder Fang in unison and two of them use Intimidate two lower Slacking's Attack (-50 hp total) "Argh, what the blazes is going on?!" Kanbei yells in confusion
Leopold laughs as the Mightyena's apparent trainers emerge from their hiding spots "Calm down old man, we had our warriors move the civilians out of the danger zones no one should be hurt, but I already told you the deck is stacked against you...I requested The Mightyena brothers from our main army assist us to help wear you down. In the wild Mightyena normally battle in packs so they are experts in fighting with the numbers advantage."
Kanbei stands his ground "You think this will stop us...I will show you the true power of my bond with Slacking with Return!" Slacking snorts loudly and slams into the first Mightyena with all of it's might doing massive damage and knocking out the foe in a single hit (-130 HP).

"But, so you Arachnis and Pixie punks don't feel left out I have some backup warriors for you..." He says as a grunt with a Ekans and another with a Carvanha prepare to battle Nate and Reyn.
Leopold, Robin, and Andrea then prepare to battle Ivadi and Gabriel. Cassandra goes to stand next to the both of you, however she is stopped by the Orris warrior "You should stay out of this battle, type-wise there is little you can do to help against these guys."
"Bah, fine whatever...you can fight in my place, but this is the LAST time someone will keep me from a battle today." Cassandra says in an annoyed tone as she steps back letting him and his Aron take her and Riolu's spot.
Nate:
Reyn attacks first "Let's go Heracross hit that Carvanha with a Rock Blast!" Heracross slams it's horn into the ground to launch rocks at the foe Carvanha, as two rocks hit their mark (-12 Hp).
Carvanha and it's trainer move next "Carvanha, strike back at Heracross with Thrash." Carvanha then flings it's body into Heracross with all of it's might (-10 Hp)
Ekans and it's trainer then attack "Ekans, use Poison Sting on Ralts." Ekans launches a poisoned barb from it's mouth hitting Ralts (-8 Hp).

The battle starts with Andrea attacking first "Alright, I'll prove my usefulness in this battle...go my little Misdreavus and use Psywave on that Aron." Misdreavus then lauches a odd wave of psychic power at Aron damaging it (-7 Hp).
Robin and her Zorua attack next as she silently nods to her Pokemon as it uses Extrasensory on Aron hitting it with a powerful psychic attack (-6 Hp), However after the attack Aron eats it's Oran Berry recovering a bit of energy back (+10 Hp).

Zelos sighs crossing his arms "Right-right of course, let's not hold this up any longer...if we all work together we should have the trash out of here in time for tea." All of the others shake their heads in disapproval of Zelo's words, but the group now continues to make it's way to regroup with the others through the village.
As you move through the village you fine it eerily quiet as no one is around on the streets and all of the windows in the buildings are covered and the doors locked. Clair says nervously as everyone moves "Ah, this is spooky just not long ago this streets were lively with people, but now it's like a ghost town."
"Yes, but stay on your guard there is no telling where one of these intruders are lurking waiting to ambush us...I can't see anyone, but I can't help but feel like we are being watched." Ashley says cautiously as she looks around.
After a short time of nothing eventful happening you and the group reach the warrior school and see what appears to be the remains of a battles as several of Palette's young warrior's and their Pokemon are left defeated on the ground, however some of the students start to stir as you approach. Edea, Heather and Yuri rush to the students aid as Ashley keeps watch for more intruders, and Clair assists you in watching the prisoner.
"I-I am alright, I'm more worried about the others and my partner Lickitung." One of the students says as he is helped to his feet by Yuri.
"What happened here it looks like you and the others were in quite the battle?" Yuri asks
"Umph, we were training this morning with some of the guest heirs when those goons struck...one of them was able to masquerade as Kabei with the help of her Zorua. We were able to fend them off at first, but the other heirs left to get the real Kanbei and then our teacher left as well too help some of villagers elsewhere...me and Lickitung were the last one's standing when two other warriors showed up...one with a Heracross and another with a Ralts, but I lost consciousness before the battled the last remaining warrior."
Heather brightens up with the boy mentions Heracross and Ralts "That was Reyn and Nate it has to be w-" However, her words are cut short by what sounds like a loud signal horn blaring from what sounds like the castle "Ah, what was that Edea...a warning alarm?"
Edea frowns looking puzzled, but before she can speak a loud boom is heard and several of Palette's key defensive structures are begin to crumble simultaneously through the village causing the ground to quake beneath you.

Zelos sighs crossing his arms "Right-right of course, let's not hold this up any longer...if we all work together we should have the trash out of here in time for tea." All of the others shake their heads in disapproval of Zelo's words, but the group now continues to make it's way to regroup with the others through the village.
As you move through the village you fine it eerily quiet as no one is around on the streets and all of the windows in the buildings are covered and the doors locked. Clair says nervously as everyone moves "Ah, this is spooky just not long ago this streets were lively with people, but now it's like a ghost town."
"Yes, but stay on your guard there is no telling where one of these intruders are lurking waiting to ambush us...I can't see anyone, but I can't help but feel like we are being watched." Ashley says cautiously as she looks around.
After a short time of nothing eventful happening you and the group reach the warrior school and see what appears to be the remains of a battles as several of Palette's young warrior's and their Pokemon are left defeated on the ground, however some of the students start to stir as you approach. Edea, Heather and Yuri rush to the students aid as Ashley keeps watch for more intruders, and Clair assists you in watching the prisoner.
"I-I am alright, I'm more worried about the others and my partner Lickitung." One of the students says as he is helped to his feet by Yuri.
"What happened here it looks like you and the others were in quite the battle?" Yuri asks
"Umph, we were training this morning with some of the guest heirs when those goons struck...one of them was able to masquerade as Kabei with the help of her Zorua. We were able to fend them off at first, but the other heirs left to get the real Kanbei and then our teacher left as well too help some of villagers elsewhere...me and Lickitung were the last one's standing when two other warriors showed up...one with a Heracross and another with a Ralts, but I lost consciousness before the battled the last remaining warrior."
Heather brightens up with the boy mentions Heracross and Ralts "That was Reyn and Nate it has to be w-" However, her words are cut short by what sounds like a loud signal horn blaring from what sounds like the castle "Ah, what was that Edea...a warning alarm?"
Edea frowns looking puzzled, but before she can speak a loud boom is heard and several of Palette's key defensive structures are begin to crumble simultaneously through the village causing the ground to quake beneath you.

I watch everything go down mostly silently, then when the battle begins I look on slightly perplexed. "How is that Carvanha moving on land?" I'm quickly snapped out of it when Athena is hit. "I hate to use this so soon..." I say as I activate my warriors ability." Sorry I didn't heal you last battle Reyn, now Athena hit that over grown worm with confusion! "
