Re: Stranded Deep
I've had my eyes on Stranded Deep almost since it came out on Early Access. And just like this video shows, it's very good at hitting your scavenger addiction receptors (specially mine, as I am seriously into shipwrecks and plane wrecks), but, with patch after patch, its reviews had shifted in such violent ways some times (Right now it's at Very Positive, but about a year ago, it was on Mixed) I have chosen to let this one simmer a bit before I buy it.
Over all, the game concept IS very good, but like with all Early Access, it might be best to wait until it's out. Specially regarding how high its requirements might get...

Re: Stranded Deep
Ah, the game where it's easier and faster to push a Jerry Can against the edge of the life raft than it is to actually build a motorised raft.
To find him, you must forget the stories...
Forget the legends...
You have to do more than walk in his footsteps...
For he is more than the sum of his actions...
I tell you this, not because I trust you...
But because all our lives are at stake...
Because the seeds of our future... are sown in his past...
Forget the legends...

For he is more than the sum of his actions...
I tell you this, not because I trust you...

Because the seeds of our future... are sown in his past...

Re: Stranded Deep
Oh boy...
I DL'd the latest version of this game yesterday to see how it was and man.... Let's just say this is a case of a game that looks much better on trailers and screencaps.
Sure, there are many cool wrecks and proceduraly-generated islands, but out of every minute you spend exploring a cool shipwreck, you're gonna spend 40 looking for more coconuts to drink from. Finding food isn't that hard (because other than coconuts, you can also eat crabs, small fish and a couple fruits), but getting water is a complete hassle, because drinking sea water makes you throw up (which honestly, is far better than what drinking too much salt water does you in real life...) and other than drinking from Coconuts, your only alternative is to build water stills, which fill too slowly to be helpful.
And all of this is without including all of the weird glitches the game seems to have...

Re: Stranded Deep
I figured, it's the curse of Early Access. They show the best stuff on screenshots and trailers, but the actual game is a mess.
