Not sure where to post this since it talks about the pokemon lore and real world inspiration behind it, but considering it talks about the handheld games figured this was alright.

Note: This is a just a theory but a really good one that ties all the games together and concludes that after Sun & Moon there will be a reboot of the world.

So, if this proves to be true (thing that we still don't know) that means that no Sinnoh games remake will be made (considering how they've been releasing remakes, it was pretty much assumed that Sinnoh should potentially get their remakes on Gen 7)?
And Kaijin you are the "Perentie" of this place, IMO.

If this proves to be true than likely the Sinnoh games won't receive a remake. The main reason for these past remakes were likely to not only be used to hold us over until Sun and Moon came out but to include the new evolutions into the game. The video mentions Diamond and Pearl briefly but mostly in the sense their legendarys are gods, and that Omega and Alpha's legendary pokemon are not only forces of destruction but represent the elements Fire and water which are key elements in his theory.

Plus in my opinion the games are not too old with their release on the DS and the previous games being on the GBC & GBA.

Cataclysmic FAIL

Post by Kaijin »

Omega and Alpha's legendary pokemon are not only forces of destruction but represent the elements Fire and water which are key elements in his theory.
Technically speaking they represent the land, the sea and the sky (or the lithosphere, the hydrosphere and atmosphere).

I know that Groudon is red and for whatever reason got a Fire subtyping that did it more harm than help (weakness to Ground), but calling it the embodiment of fire just for those shallow reasons sound... wrong. (Heck even the so called "GOD" Heatran would pass as a more convincing embodiment/representation of fire than our good ol' continent pokémon)

Oh well... If the rest of the theory is as accurate as this part, I pretty much can see coming a "Shining Diamond" and "Lustrous Pearl" in a not so far future.
And Kaijin you are the "Perentie" of this place, IMO.

You'll have to watch the video since I can't accurately summarize it, but his base for the theory is Alchemy and its drive for the azoth.

Doesn't seem a specially alluring concept when they base part of their claim in the inability of recognizing the meanings behind of the "Element Trio" (aka Weather Trio)... and leave Rayquaza out of the equation just... because of..Yes (I guess).

If I were to guess the main reason that may prevent Sinnoh remakes from being developed is that Game Freak might consider that a Sun 2/Moon 2 or even a thrid title (a la Crystal, Emerald, Platinum) let's call it "Eclipse" (for now) should prove more profitable than remaking Gen IV from scratch... which would be a major shame (Gen IV did quite a great amount of things right after all) but in the end money makes the world go round.

Eclipse? That sounds VERY like them. Remember everyone, Kaijin called it! I'll probably skip the next Pokémon. After XY, I lost hope for the games.

Wrong! As that has been leaked... TODAY! ^^

New pokémon confirmed:

-Tapukoko (yeah... It finally ended up being a real thing...^^U)-> Electric/Fairy (even if looks nothing like a Fairy... looks more similar to an Electric based Sigilyph)
-Charjabug-> Bug/Electric (Actually that's a great typing)
-Vikavolt-> Bug/Electric (Charjabug's evolution and pretty badass design)
-Drampa-> Normal/Dragon (I don't know what to feel here... I (like quite a lot of people) was looking forward to see this typing... but meant as an evolution for Dunsparce...x_X)
-Bruxish-> Water/Psychic (Awful typing, fitting for one of the ugliest designs seen on a water type... Heck it makes Huntail look like a Milotic in comparision).
-Cutiefly-> Bug/Fairy
-Togedemaru-> Steel/Electric (Our trademark electric rodent for this region: Great typing... even with x4 weakness to ground, great concept (based on a porcupine) and good design... Good news since Dedenne was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT en every possible aspect).

It's also confirmed that the Zygarde we know (and learned to tolerate), who is known as 50% form, will be able to transform automatically into its "Gundam" form once it gets pummeled enough.

I've always found it interesting that the generation I consider to be the best yet in pokemon (for many reasons) is the breaking point for others.

<><><>

As for the new reveals, I am a bit indifferent to most of them (Tapu Koko is cool and all but not my kind of cool). However, Vikavolt is one of the most awesome-looking Bug types so I am hoping it has stats, moves and an ability to back up its looks. Vivillon showed that they can make a early Bug that is still a decent battler late in the game. Cutiefly is exactly that, adorable. And I am liking Togedemaru more as time passes.

Errrr... I already posted it quite a few hours ago (in form of an hyperlink), but thanks for making me look that I fail as "reporter"...I guess? ¬¬

.P.S.: It doesn't matter how many times I look a Tapu Koko... I can't see why is regarded as a fairy... Electric/Flying? Why not... Electric/Psychic? Wouldn't be odd... But Fairy? Oh well... It's one another of those "What the heck" moments Alola is giving us (like the "sun" pokémon being weak to fire...).

Well... if it helps, "Fairy" seems to be the "mythical/benevolent spirit" type, as well as the "fluffy cute thing" type. See Xerneas and the clock lady thing. I love Tapu Koko's design, personally; I can buy that that's what a totem warrior would look like as a Pokemon. And, it's been mentioned before, the Steel typing on lion-Metagross+ is probably a funny nod to the fact that the sun's mass contains mostly vast quantities of iron, and none of the fire-resistant types make quite as much sense for it (ground, water, and fire, none of which are present on or in the sun).

Looking forward to the stoner dragon, though. That looks cool.

When the pokémon in question looks like a floating Scrafty...doesn't help that much... But hey... You get an A for effort.

Anyway... Let's get to business:

-Iwanko and Nekoala finally get their localized names: Rockruff and Komala.
-Charjabug and Vikavolt are confirmed to be part of the Grubbin evolutionary line (Grubbin-> Charjabug-> Vikavolt)

More info HERE

Also (Despite appearing in the link I posted...) I'll leave the localized trailer as well (steal my thunder now, I dare you ¬¬)

Also remember that the Shaymin event for both X/Y and ORAS has already started and lasts until July 24th.
It's a wi-fi mystery gift event that gives you a lvl.100 Shaymin with a Micle Berry (no Gracidea).

How to get a Gracidea on Gen VI?

-X/Y: Talk to a woman in Snowbelle City's Pokémon Center with Shaymin on your party.
-ORAS: Go to the Berry Master's house (the one on Route 123) and talk to a man with Shaymin in your party.

Has Levitate as its ability.

On a side note mentioning that Togedemaru has both Iron Barbs and Lightningrod as its abilities.

And I've seen a few people who are disappointed in that, but hey, I say being able to freely switch into a powerful neutral attack (Earthquake) and be immune to Spikes/Toxic Spikes is always a good thing. Now lets just hope it has at Scolipede-like stats or better.

<><><>

As for Tapu Koko's typing (and how loosely defined Fairy types are in general), I've long subscribed to the idea that a pokemon's type is ultimately decided by whatever magical energy (or energies for dual types) are most dominant within its body, and while its physical structure usually reflects that energy, it doesn't have to. This explains typings that don't seem to match a pokemon's appearance, as well as how things like Protean work (i.e. the pokemon uses the power of a move it summons to change the energy in its own body into that type of energy, changing its own typing).

Okay... Then try and explain why Granbull is a Fairy type (other than Snubbull being pink... which shouldn't even be a reason to begin with) or why Game Freak decided to "recycle" Team Galactic, dress them as a bunch of gaudy bouncers (only Female Flare Admis look appealing designwise) and changed their goal to "let's turn the region (and world) into an elitist dance club" for the Kalos arc...

You guys are seriously overanalyzing things for no reason,as most of Game Freak's "strikes of genius" can be summarized like this:

Image
Why not?

Heck I can even picture them using 20 sided die in order to do brainstorming/choices.

Image
Game Freak staff's most valuable choice making asset

There are things that are no worth questioning and reasoning behind typings as these franchise has been showing for two decades (Goodra should either be Water/Dragon or Poison/Dragon, the Tepig line should have been either Fire/Ground or Fire/Rock, Blastoise should have been retconned as Water/Steel as soon as Steel got introduced, Glalie should be Ice/Rock and so on... and on... and on... and on...) is one of them.

They probably use that dice roll on a lot of other games too. Quite funny seeing that giant flashing die, since it's kind of like a long standing inside joke I have with my friends, though I went for the divination rocks gag instead. :)

Nothing about Tegpig says it's line should be Fire/Ground or Fire/Rock and nothing about Glalie says it should be Ice/Rock. As for Granbull being Fairy-Type it's based on Cu Sith from Celtic mythology. It' also known as the Fairy Pokemon along with Clefairy.

Body made of rock and covered by thick layers of ice... Which should easliy translate as Ice/Rock.
