Huh, Bounsweet turned out to be a 3-stage sexualized (dat booty) queen thing... I somehow thought that it would stay a one-stage thing, oh well. We still have the wreath thingy for that. Also, I am predicting a ton of fanart for her. I only hope that they have a 50/50 male split like Gardevoir, because that would be hilarious.

Love the Cutiefly evolution, the new Dragon/Fighting guys look a little weird, but I'll get used to them... and no mistake, Muk is another Dark type. -_- Well, I'd say he LOOKS better than the old Muk, though. Type: Null's evolution is like a mini Arceus, which is crazy badass and I love it.

Altogether, nice. Looking forward to it.

Steenee is the another Grass-type PokeLoli and I love it. Alolan Muk looks so cool. I love its color scheme.

Alolan Grimer actually makes kind of sense it looks like that (as its Dark typing makes it look like a murkier than usual Grimer)... but what the heck happened to Muk? It looks... weird... as it was made out of Play Doh.

Image
Mix all of these together and you'll get your very own (Alolan) Muk

Its typing is really good... But its appearance on the other hand...(Delta Muk still looks better).

As for the new mons...The Dragon final form looks actually badass, its typing will make it cringe to any Fairy type it makes eye contact with but still is a really cool combination (and one I was personally looking forward for quite a long while), depending on its BST (which I assume it will be 600 since it looks like Alolan pseudo legendary line) spending countless levels raising a frail, goofy and ugly whelp (Jangmo-o's headscale makes it look like it had an arse on top of its head ^^U) might prove actually quite worthy.

.P.S.: Was really necessary to make yet another Arceus though?

I think it's ment to represent an oil slick, but that's just my theory.

It would make sense...somehow... But that colour pattern looks way too vibrant for something meant to represent a sentinent mass of "chapapote" (Once again, Grimer pulls it off almost perfectly...except for that yellow line under its jaw).

Image
I fail to see any Alolan connection with this.

Alolan Muk looks like it was made out of Mega Mack (the liquid in Sonic 2's Chemical Plant Zone) instead of oil.

Image
Plenty of chemical Alolan goodness

But then again... In the end the only thing I'm gonna care about Alolan Muk is its typing (unless the Skorupi line appears in Alolan Dex, then I won't care about it at all)...

Demo is live all! Spoilers follow for the demo's events of course, though I won't name the specific leaks that have come about from it here just in case some want to avoid them.

Regardless of criticisms from the things revealed in the leaks (despite some efforts, data miners were able to get a lot), the game itself looks and feels awesome to play. If the full game is anything like the demo it will be the most immersive pokemon game yet. The music, how expressive everyone is (aside from our player character sadly), and how much more fluidly the interactive pokemon in the overworld move are all great touches.

I honestly felt genuine shock too when that Hakkamo-o got angry at me taking its picture and ran up to my character, revealing it to be a Totem Pokemon that towered over me (makes one wonder how big a totem version of Kommo-oh would be). That was an awesome moment. :goodjob:

After seeing all the leaks I'm more interested. I think they did Nintendo a service in my case.

I think Game Freak put all that stuff there on purpose because they want us to see what's coming. What if they're hiding other stuff for later reveals?

So the time has come to take on THE question: which starter should I pick?

-Contrary Snivy
-Iron Fist Chimchar
-Sheer Force Totodile

Because after what've been found by data mining in the demo, it's time to face what I've feared most about this game: for the first time after 7 generations... I don't like any of the official starters.

As for the demo itself... well I've barely tried so I can't give my proper two cents until I've cleared it and/or squeezed until the last drop of content possible from it... But I already have a huge grip about it: I was pretty much looking forward to control anything "Alolan" (I'm referring to mon native and exclusive to Alolan dex not Alola forms) rather than what you've been given by the start of the demo.

.P.S.:
Image
Nermal, is that you?

(In times like this is when I suddenly get happy to see that Game Freak doesn't give a damn about anything belonging to Gen II to V)

The demo is short, barely informative, and hammy. I really, really hope it's not at all indicative of the game itself.

Though, the world looks gorgeous! I mean, wow, the environment design literally could not be better (aside from the boring cave). The rest of the design... eh, I hope there's an option to make it less flashy and sparkly with the UI bits.

Well, if you go around and talk with the people, they reveal that more events will occur in X number of days.

Why? Whatever have Team Braian done to you? Poor things...XD

Seriously now... I don't care if they end up the most evil plot of all pokétime, if their reasons become the most coherent and well explained of all evil teams (for the time being the only thing we know is that their leader is just...butthurt for some unknown reason) or if for once they're the only team that ends up screwing up the pokéworld... There's absolutely NO WAY IN HELL I'll ever take them seriously...
I mean... come on: the grunts are just a bunch of canis and chonis (cani (male)/choni (female) are pretty much the Spaniard equivalent of...a chav), their second in command is a kogal that applies her make up with a roller, their "executioner" is a genderswap of Idolm@sters Cinderella Girls' Koume (the horror movies addict 13 y.o idol) and their oh so great and oh so butthurt leader... is one hell of a Kanji Tatsumi knock off (Persona 4's delinquent with a heart of gold).

As for the demo itself... I played almost everything (except the come here until X number of days "events") and it was... disappointingly short (for something taking up more than 3k blocks of your SD card's space I expected WAY more).
Other than that, with the very few the demo lets out and what videos and screenshots have shown us so far... Sure I can say it's immersive, but in the wrong way... It doesn't feel Pokémon-ish, I couldn't feel like I was playing Pokémon at all... If I had to call it somehow, I would probably refer to it as "Shin Megami Mon: Pokérsona".

Anyway... time will tell though, I'll give it the chance once it comes out here almost a week later than the rest of the world (Nintendo and Game Freak sure know how to hold grudges for no reason) as pretty much deserves it though (this series hasn't let me down so far).

.P.S.: On the brightest side... Female ace trainers are adorable, not Black and White level of adorable (those twin drill will forever remain unbeaten) but still really adorable ^^

While Agreeing with Kaijin, they did say the Moon and Sun Demo wouldn't accurately represent the final games. In fact, they said the demo is it's own thing like a proof of concept.

Or Playstation TV in my case. :)

I'll eventually get Pokémon Sun, when it's no longer mainstream. Sometime in the distant future...

Starter Trisappointment

Post by Kaijin »

New trailer is out.

Well... Aren't those starters "surpising"?

And we finally have them there... in all their officially disappointing "glory".

First of all we have Decidueye (aka Junaiper), which actually got a type change (Perentie actually managed to predict something? I'm officially terrified). Design wise is one heck from an improvement as we go from: Shaved Coconut-> Fabiowl-> Archer class servant. Also it's new typing despite being NOT GOOD is an improvement over the infamous Grass/Flying... But something tells me it's gonna be WAY TOO FRAIL to be considered remotely useful.

Next we have... THAT HIDEOUS BARA THING... err... sorry... Incineroar. Typewise it's actually not that bad (out of the starter trio typing Fire is the only type that is beneficial to Dark)... But that design... ugh... A beefy, buffed up design didn't help Emboar, didn't help Chesnaught... Why would they even think that it would help this time around? It doesn't look like a Dark type, it looks more fitting in Street Fighter's roster than in a Pokédex (and more considering that its "trademark move" is a blatant rip off of Zangief's Spinning Lariat).
When I first saw Litten I was expecting to see something lithe, stealthy, majestic... like Luxray (or Uranium's Metalynx and Inflagetah), something remotely feline... Not something that looks like a Mexican luchador with a cat mask on.

And finally Primarina, that is Water/Fairy as I well pointed out back in the past (and got made fun of as a result...yay). Typewise...It's hands down the best of the three BY FAR, its design on the other hand... well... let's say that the Water miracle didn't come this time (that trend had to come to an end some time). It's one of those mon I would have to soft reset hundreds of times to get a female (it's the new Braixen), depending on its stat distribution might be worth giving a try... just for the typing alone (but I tink I'll stick to the breed me a starter from other gen though).

On the brightest side... Cosmog's ability is amazing.

.P.S.: Green a legend? I love Gen I and all... But that's one heck of an overstatement. Green's reign as a champion lasted for...five minutes.
And Kaijin you are the "Perentie" of this place, IMO.

You were never made fun of about Primarina's typing. As for Cosmog I wonder if theroies about it are true.
