Heh heh, some are a bit vain, but usually the humanoid representation of the ship looks like the bow sprit or figurehead of the original ship

I've got some more detail and base colours in, here is an update to phantom ship. I am going with with more mangaesque toning method of using a red tone to do the skin and it seems to be working really well. I haven't made her underpainting tones visible yet. Also if you look at her ear, the back side of the ear has wood carvings covering it. The wood carvings are very sensitive, almost like scratching a scab feels really good.

I like the use of pastel coloring, gives some eerieness and age, but approachable and gentle

Thanks, that is what I am going for! Here is an update I gave her wood carvings on the back and top of her ears, shaded it, shaded the bowsprit and have reworked the wood shading on the ship. I actually feel I need to add line art to the wooden planks on the aft section.

This is the cat si, essentially my catgirl mamonme. I am also working on lorelie at the moment. I am focusing more on the Scottish mythology of cat si and the idea of it being able to steal your soul... Although with her kind it would be with sensuous cuteness.

So keeping with the whole year of the harpy theme, I have been working on lorelie quite a bit and have a big update. Most of her skin tones are complete, I am still busy with shading her wings and cleaning up her lines, but I do have a question is the first lorelie's feet better than the second one? I rescaled them to make them a bit smaller. I'm also thinking of adding a feather sticking out of her hair like an ahoge...

In my new years resolution I decided to learn to draw once more. (I was only half decent in High School). I figured if I truly cared about my stories regardless of the setting whether they are my own or someone else's I would do more than just write it out. I'd want to spoil them with illustrations to boot, but never felt too confident in my skills from day 1.

What's helping me out right now is seeing your rough sketches from page 1 on this wip page you have. Seeing how much you've improved in so little time gives me a little bit of hope that I can do the same.

So once again great drawings, and I can't wait to see Lorelie in all her glory soon Raet!

Yes I definitely like the smaller "feet" better. The feather cowlick sounds like an interesting idea, I'd like to see how it would look at least. Interesting take how you went with the Goddess Isis' winged look instead of the fully winged arms or just back wings. Don't see those kind of harpies often. The shading on her legs looks nice, adds some sexiness, and she retains her purity look well.

Yes, for me I like to experiment, it wouldn't look as cool if the harpy couldn't have outstretched hands, so as with impundulu their wings are like arms. Just more lightweight. Instead of having a pinky finger, the finger shifted down and became the alula! Thanks, her legs look even better now as I have done more shading.

Today I travelled to far northern Taiwan and it was absolutely beautiful! I gave zvezda's dress some thought on the trip and this is what I have comeup with so far.

Yes I do, but firstly I do live in Taiwan and secondly, where should I post them? Also TMM has a terrible cap on the file size of images, all of these images are over 5 megs so I won't be able to

So here is a small sample of lorelie, I still have to finish fine tuning her wing feathers on her arms.

So I have been shading zvezda! I am very happy with how my wanderin' star is turning out! The protrusions are fins which form a star shape around her head.

While most of her inspiration draws from Peter Pan, Zvezda as with the Mariah, also takes some inspiration from songs my mom used to sing at bed time. These songs came from the movie Paint your Wagon, an old American movie that she loved. Wandering Star by Lee Marvin is one of the sources of inspiration for zvezda.

So I have been working hard with both Cat Si and Zvezda. With Cat Si most of her base and tone shading is complete. I am just working on her dress which is quite challenging. Zvezda has received more tone and I have adjusted more of her features.

Thank you Feathers, I'm glad you like her. The first one had to have the dress revamped, so I am still busy with her. However the Cat Si is a cat, and cats are usually seen as a symbol of sensuality, hence the pose.
