No it was a wild one. Caught it and now it's sitting in my PC as I have long since completed my team.

No, it isn't a glitch.
You can find both forms in Vast Poni Canyon (regardless of which game you're playing).
However you can only evolve Rockruff into Midday in Sun and into Midnight in Moon.

At the very least they'll be on 3DS and not on Switch.
Honestly though... I'm not sure if it was even necessary to make a Sun 2/Moon 2 set (a la Gen V), I'd personally prefer they put all that effort into the development of a future Gen VIII (or Sinnoh remakes) rather than on Alola sequels... But oh well, I guess I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe this time they'll provide a decently entertaining challenge (as Sun/Moon proved to be disappointingly easy).

Only pokken dx for the Switch was worth any sort of announcement in my opinion, but so far there's still rumors of a pokemon rpg like game involving the first gen still in the works.

Now, if US/UM ends up being a sequel ala B2/W2, I'd call that a nice thing to get. And I might end up getting Silver, as my old copy's battery died, and it was my personal favorite of the series, so if I can get it on the cheap, might do it.

Same, my original silver's battery died and to get the remake is still like 50$ USD and its not compatible with the pokebank, this eshop version is. As for US/UM, I heard its like an alternative/retelling of the original Sun and Moon games.

How this will work IDK, but I heard there will be gyms instead of trials and that Gladion will be leading the Ather Foundtion.

So it's basically like Crystal, Emerald and Platinum... only that split into two games this time around.
Not really fond of this concept to be honest, but it's good to know that if this rumour is actually confirmed then I'll be saving 40€ (as I find pointless to buy the same game twice).

I haven't touched Pokémon at all. After seeing how much dialogue Yokai Watch has, Pokémon just feels so dull. Would be cool if Pokémon could talk already..like in Mystery Dungeon.

All my hype is entirely focused on what it matters to me right now: Sonic Mania (only five more days...).

Besides not to mention that it's way too early to determine if I should let my reactions being led by either hype or just sheer unadultered anger when it comes to this set of games.
If they're meant to be a sequel of Sun/Moon (a la White 2/Black 2), then I could see me myself moderately hyped in a not so distant future... However if this set of games are meant to be a Crystal/Emerald/Platinum version of sorts meant to completely overwrite Sun/Moon... I'd be pretty pissed off since that would pretty much mean that I literally spent 40 € in vain when I acquired my Sun copy.

And there's also the fact that this new new evolutionary form is not obtainable by normal means and the only way to achieve it is by a Rockruff that can only be achieved by special distribution...

.P.S.: However if the rumours I heard happen to be true and there are some Gen 2 to mon getting an Alola form... That could be a decent start to have my interest picqued...
