Asmund and Gabriel:

The invader looks up directly at Kanbei as he questions him "I'll tell you all I know, but remember I'm just a foot soldier so they haven't told me much, however those simple questions I can answer...first off I started out in a bands of bandits, personally I am from Spectra where I served under my 'former' boss Andrea. I don't know who was the one who brought us into this, but they believe that peace was impossible in the state our region is now, and the only way to achieve it is to merge all of the kingdoms together under his new Empire's regime. The peace meeting was a trap, one that all the leaders fell for and got themselves captured by forces much stronger than me."

Kanbei simply glares at the trespasser keeping his emotions in check "Typical, it is easy to criticize our traditions, but his answer is to take it all for himself under the belief that will solve everything that he is the one to unite the nation...Well, I can tell you he is not the first to attempt such a coup and I highly doubt he will be the last. That answers most of my earlier questions, but I have more. You mentioned your 'boss' Andrea, I can assume that is the ghost warrior partnered with Misdreavus what can you tell me about the girl with the Zorua and the loudmouth boy paired with a Grimer? What are they lieutenants, captains or something else in this so-called new Empire?"

The prisoner rubs his chin "You mean Robin and Leopold? Yeah, I can't stand that guy either such and elitist attitude even when he loses he acts like he did it on purpose..." Kanbei loudly grunts to get the man to focus. "R-right, well Robin is a Kunoichi a ninja trained in infiltration and sabotage, she for some reason can't speak on her own, but she does seem to be able to communicate with her Pokemon without talking. When she combines her skills with her Zorua's Illusion ability she is able to pose as anyone. I don't know anything about her personally, but I heard she was exiled from her clan in Varlox or something. She honestly creeps me out, also her Zorua is a off color from normal ones...kind of like the Metalnian's Pokemon."

The man continues "Now, as for Leopold I can't really say much about him I heard he was a drop out from the Maiasmya royal army they say he hates those of nobility, but that's a rumor among the platoon...it makes sense though, he's sharper than he looks. He's even the one who pitched the battle plan we used to our captain Waylon who was in charge of taking over the plains region."


Nate and Ivadi:

Cassandra mulls over Nate's words as Athena moves first and follows Nate's command and uses a light psychic attack on the foe Foongus knocking it out (-14 Hp).

Peter swears under his breath as his partner is defeated "Drat, and we were so close too." The battle pauses as the Greatwood warrior picks up his fallen Pokemon to remove him from the battlefield. "Hopefully Foongus will recover before the invaders return, I doubt there is Revival Herb in the pantry, but I will try to mix some berries together for berry juice to get my friend back in shape when he does recover." Peter then turns to Ivadi "Do not falter yet my friend. It may look tough now, but I believe you can pull through."

Cassandra jumps us as Peter goes into the pantry and goes to follow him "I'll help too, that way I can make myself useful and try to take my mind off of home."

The battle then resumes and Ivadi's turn is next as Zeke unleashes a mild psychic attack on the opposing Trapinch (-7 Hp).

Mia's turn is next as she commands Trapinch to use Feint attack on Zeke. Trapinch waits until the moment Zeke lowers it's guard then charges forward and attacks (-10 Hp).

Athena and Trapinch receive 62 experience points each, and Athena reaches level 8.

things look bad for the two when they look around glancing at something he grins ["i'll pay for this later but..."] "ok Zeke, use confusion!" he said pointing at the chandelier above hitting it with a mild psycic attack to drop it over Athena and Trapinch

Listening to the prisoner helped clear some some of the holes Asmund had in his mind but still more questions remained. He waited till the prisoner was done before speaking himself.

"Speaking of battle plans, from the time you were first recruited till today how long have these take-overs been conducted for? No take-over happens within a day, no matter how well planned. As to this Waylon, could he possibly be close to the leader of your former group? Further, did you hear any tidbits as to the next destination, the next kingdom to be targeted?" He took a quick moment to take a deep breath.

"Lastly, would you have any idea as to where the Kingdom leaders are being taken to, or being held? If you don't, do you know who would?" On the outside Asmund would look calm and collected, with an excellent poker face. On the inside however Asmund was deeply worried for his parents safety, and while he could keep that worry hidden from most, he had the errant thought that if anyone could see past his strong facade it would be Sir Kanbei. For the moment he could keep his worry at bay and stay focused.

[Nexous]

I nod, and bow as Peter removes his partner from battle. "You both faught well. I wish your foongus a speedy recovery." Once he was out of the way I return my attention to the battle. "Athena use Misty Terrain, and prevent status aliments!"

[Heero]

Gabriel smirks at the mention of Robin, "Ah that's her name? she was a pushover. me and Deino soundly beat her. if the rest of the army is that patheticlly weak then we have nothing to worry about."

[Drack]

Asmund and Gabriel:

The prisoner merely shakes his head at Gabriel's insult and says nothing. When Asmund asks more questions the man obliges "I'm not sure like I said I'm just a foot soldier, so I don't get invited to meetings. I do agree though it must of taken them a while to plan something whether it was months or years though I cannot say. I do know they have far more powerful warriors at their disposal from what I've heard from Waylon's talks with Leopold and the others and they are attempting strikes at other kingdoms like Waylon is here from a powerful dark knight to an enchantress who from the rumors I heard can manipulate warriors to her will with her Pokemon's Hypnosis attack...in terms of power I think Waylon is the weakest of the leaders they posses.

The man continues "I don't know where they are keeping your parents, Waylon might know. I did hear that Varlox is the planned capital so if I were to guess that would be the place, though that is on the other side of the continent so you're in a long trip if you're going to free them."

Ashley snaps slamming her hands on the table "Why Varlox!? Why, is my homeland so important...why did you say earlier that you weren't supposed to attack me?"

The prisoner just looks down with a terrified look on his face "I-I don't know, I just follow my orders...look you want to know our battle plan for Palette I'll tell you. The sabotage Leopold and his squad preformed was supposed to weaken the defensive wall around Palette so when we invade our main forces can focus on Kanbei and the remaining resistance, then then our scout teams can surround and overwhelm them."

Nate and Ivadi:

Athena moves first thanks to it's new speed and uses Misty Terrain enveloping the field in a thick pink mist covering everything and allowing only the trainers and the Pokemon to be seen and preventing status aliments from occurring. This prevents Zeke's attack on the chandelier from succeeding. (I looked up the Natural Objects system from X and Y to decide this, as all terrain moves negate them from being attacked.)

Mia goes to move next but stops "Eh, I'm not a fan of two on one battles...if you two would like I think it would be more fun to make this a battle royal with one winner."

Iva sighs in relief "well im fine with that." he said smiling as zeke nods

[Nexous]

"Very well, but just know you are the more dangerous adversary of the two of you. Granted in a Ralts battle Mine would probably be whittled down first, but seeing the power you attack with I fear you could finish us in one hit. That being said I apologize for turning on you like this. Athena use confusion on Trapinch!"
(I'm happy with this turn of events I wanted to see you get experience from this too. Now for the confusion off after this!)

[Heero]

"if Varlox is the main focus of their attacks then we should send what forces we can to help. send a scouting party first before attacking. i'll volenteer to lead the party."
Gabriel looks to the prisoner "look at at me again and you'll feel the burn of Deino's dragon rage."

"well things are heating up. confusion on the trapinch as well." Iva said as zeke obliged

After his questions had been answered Asmund had turned pensive, tapping his chin with a finger while the conversation continued. He shifted his gaze to the dragon prince when he gave his rebuttal.

"Threats and bouts of pride won't aid us here Prince Gabriel. While you do bring up a point about the kingdom of Varlox, acting to liberate Varlox now will do us more harm in the long term." Asmund looked at the Fandarian with a cool and calculative gaze.

"While it is true that a scouting party could reach Varlox and gain a great deal of information, the party wouldn't have the numbers to back them up when it came time to make the assault. Also, the time it would take to reach Varlox and gain useful information would give these interlopers time to dig in and establish their own fortifications. Making the assault even more harrowing" Exhaling through his nose he gave a slight shake of his head, turning towards the map.

"Right now we don't have the appropriate numbers to wage an assault in Varlox while also liberating Palette at the same time. Right now our immediate concern should be removing these invaders from Palette and establishing our own base to stage our resistance from. Once Palette has been liberated we can focus on gaining support from the neighbouring Kingdoms before retaking the Plains Region. No army can march on an empty stomach, the Plains are the largest exporters of crops and berries in all the Kingdoms and I believe that is the likely reason why they were taken first." He then looked from the map to Kanbei.

"Sir Kanbei, capturing this Waylon is, in my mind, a top priority as we move to liberate your Kingdom and home. Once in our custody we can gain more information on the enemy and their plans." He turned to look towards Ashley, giving her a nod. "As well as their connection to Varlox." Turning back he leaned forward with his arms on the table.

"What are your thoughts, Sir Kanbei?"

[Drack]

Asmund and Gabriel:

Kanbei nods at Asmund's words "Very well put, I agree with you one hundred percent, and as for you son of Fangdar this captive has been nothing but cooperative with us, so I politely ask you to show restraint to our prisoner as he is in my care...if he steps out of line I shall handle it myself." He then turns to Maxwell "Go out and try to find Team Echo, or any other members of our guard as they might soon begin to return, and relay the information of the invaders attack plans...scout out these holes Leopold made and try to set up some defensive positioning. If they plan to attack at nightfall we have roughly two hours to prepare."

Maxwell nods "Will do, and I will return once I give your men and women some direction to finalize the battle plan with you, and check on my students of course." With that Maxwell and Spinda swiftly make their leave out of the throne room to go out once again into the village.

Meanwhile, the Wattray warrior steps up in front of the group his partner Tynamo quickly darting around in the air around him "If I may Sir Kanbei, I would like to ask your guest a question...I know I might be getting a bit ahead of myself, but it would ease my mind if I had some light shed on how exactly this 'Empire' managed to conquer Wattray so quickly. Even with a full invasion force they would of struggled against Wattray's natural defense."

The Laval warrior then speaks up holding her Vulpix in her arms "You mentioned that before Graham...what exactly is this defense?"

Graham's eyes light up when she asks "Well Olivia, my homeland is constantly bombarded by powerful thunderstorms so much that anyone without a Electric Pokemon, or a Pokemon that draws in and is immune to electricity will have a hard time. While this protection is nice, it is hard on our environment...for along time we had to rely on assistance from Palette for food as most of our lands were barren, however thanks to recent breakthroughs in science we have mass produced lighting rods through our land to make save havens for passage, produce our own food, and further expand, but still without the knowledge of these 'safe zones' an invading force would be too battered by the thunder to fight way before they reached our walls. This would seem to imply that the Empire has placed spies in our ranks to ease there invasions."

Kanbei rubs his chin "Yes, I knew as much about Wattray and it has puzzled me too, as well as Steelfist's state, their king was well loved and has held the title of Steelfist's king for over two years now, so I doubt that the people willingly surrendered to this force, but I will refrain from talking about lady Cassandra's when she is not present."

The prisoner speaks up "It's true, I wasn't in Wattray but from what I hear they were able to convince a top official to turn, apparently your father had stopped some research about a crystal. The man help us find safe passage to Wattray under the pretense that we allowed him continue his research freely."

Nate and Ivadi:

Athena moves first and attacks with confusion on Trapinch damaging it (-10 Hp). Zeke then attacks as well with another confusion finishing off Trapinch (-7 Hp).

The battle pauses and Mia picks up her unconscious partner "You did great Trapinch it was my own fault for playing nice." She then lets out a sigh before turning back towards both of you "It's alright, next time I won't hold back though and win for sure." She says in an ominous yet cheerful tone before joining Cassandra and Peter while humming to herself.

Athena and Zeke earn 69 experience points each.

with a smile and bow to the defeated party Ivadi goes for the initiative "alright Zeke use confusion!" he said

"Crystal? Must have been something dangerous if the research had been halted..." a sudden thought came to Asmund, who turned to look at the Orris Prince.

"Victor, if you recall we had lunch the last time I visited nearly a year ago. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you mention in passing that an envoy from Wattray had come asking for the aid of Orris' Gem masters? I can't recall if your parents had accepted or denied the request." In all the lands Orris had the richest gem mines and was the main exporter of rare gems to the other Kingdoms. They held the greatest knowledge of the various stones and gems that came from the ground, so when anything new was discovered they were the first to be contacted.

"That'll be another question for Waylon when he's captured. Whatever this crystal is, it was important enough to this scientist if he was willing to betray his own kingdom in order to continue said research." He turned towards Graham. "Either that or this scientist wished to get back at your father out of spite for stopping said research. Did you happen to hear anything about this?" His tone wasn't accusatory, merely curious.

[Nexous]

I bow politely as my former partner retrieved her pokemon. "Again, I'm sorry for turning on you. I just couldn't simply hand either of you the victory by attacking the other Ralts." Once Mia has cleared the arena I declare my next attack. "Athena use confusion! We're still in this one."

[Heero]

Gabriel's face flushes red with embarresment over his behavior and leans against the wall arms crossed listening to graham and the others discuss recent events.

[Drack]

Asmund and Gabriel:

Victor speaks up as Asmund asks him about his knowledge about the crystal "Hm, if I recall correctly they only sent us notes they had gathered from studying the odd stone. My father laughed them out when they told them the lead scientist refused to actually give us the crystal to examine. Dad said the only way to learn more about the gem was for them to let our gem masters study it personally as another person's notes won't give any new information. I never heard anything else about it after that."

Graham has a scowl on his face appearing to be lost in thought until Asmund questions him allowing him to regain his focus "...Cyn, to be more precise Professor Theo Cyn...my instructor. I was aware he and my father were were at odds with each other, but I never imagined he would resort to treason. Once the talks with Orris fell through my father ordered for the crystal to be returned to where it was found as he thought Cyn had become obsessed with it, but we know now what that has led to. I only seen the crystal once, when Wattray was in possession of it Cyn would study it privately it is a small yellow crystal that could fit into the palm of your hand."

"Hmm..." Kanbei seems intrigued by this news but says nothing looking lost in thought.

"Um, is something wrong Kanbei?" Edea asks noticing his change in attitude.

Kanbei snaps back into attention crossing his arms "Nothing to worry about my lady. I had an idea about this crystal but we are getting sidetracked enough now as it is. Right now Palette's defense comes first, if we fail here there is no where to fall back to." He then returns his attention back to the prisoner "You said that Leopold's plan was to destroy parts of our wall to to surround and overwhelm us...do you know where those key spots that he targeted are?" Kanbei asks as he pushes the map of Palette in front of the man.

"Y-yeah, I have a rough idea..." The prisoner says nervously as he quickly points to three spots on the barrier the north, south, and west walls.

Clair frowns as the intruder marks the map "They are too far apart for your whole army to cover and protect the village."

Reyn chimes in "We could though...there are what eighteen of us heirs total right, so we spit up we can cover the holes keep the bad guys out, while Kanbei and his men can take the main army's head on assault."

Graham seems perplexed by Reyn's idea "That...could work, a bit reckless for my taste as capturing any of us could spell disaster, but so far this Empire seem within our level of power. Yes, our total divided by three would give us three even teams of six to fend off intruders, so in theory it could work."

Nate and Ivadi:

Athena moves first and attacks with confusion dealing little damage to Zeke (-4 Hp). Zeke then attacks as well with another confusion dealing minimal damage (-3 Hp).

The next turn starts and Athena attacks again with another confusion doing non very effective damage (-4 Hp). Zeke attacks once again dealing damage to Athena with confusion (-3 Hp).

The final turns with Athena attacking with confusion dealing damage (-4 Hp). Zeke then attacks with confusion damaging the foe Athena and knocking it out to end the battle.

Zeke: 2/24

Zeke gains 187 experience points, and reaches level 8.

Ivadi smiles as he hugs Zeke "good work Zeke!" he said happily as he cheered. they then bowed respectfully to their foes "that was a lovely fight, im glad we had this chance to spar."

[Creator_Drake]

Asmund tapped a finger against his chin.

"Yes, 3 teams of 6 could work well. The question is how do we split ourselves up? We need not only cover each others weaknesses in typing but also in experience. Some of our partners have grown a little stronger but not everyone has climbed the same pace. As for type correct me if I'm wrong but we've only seen Dark, Ghost and Poison types which poses its own facet to this logical puzzle." He held up a closed fist, 3 fingers not fully raised.

"Dark types have a weakness to Fighting, Bug and Fairy type attacks which will make counter coverage a little easier. Not only that, but they only have partial resistance from Ghost and other Dark attacks, meaning most other moves will do damage. Having Lady Edea, Lady Cassandra and Sir Reyn each at one spot in the barrier should help in this area. Furthermore, Fighting types such as Sir Reyn's Heracross can resist Dark attacks, same for Fairy types like Sir Nate's Ralts and Dark types like Lady Ashley's Sneasel. The main disadvantage we have is that Psychic types like Beldum here and Ghost types are weak to them, and in return Dark types are immune to Psychic attacks." He raised one finger.

"Ghost types on the other hand will be a little trickier. Their only weakness is to Ghost and Dark attacks, can resist Bug and Poison moves while Fighting and Normal moves will pass right through them with no effect. By the same token however, Normal types such as Lady Edea's Whishmer are completely immune to Ghost moves. Their attacks won't as much damage to Lady Ashley's Sneasel but will against Beldum and other Psychic and Ghost types on our side. Splitting Lady Ashley, Lady Yuri and Sir Gabriel amongst the teams will keep us covered in that area." A second finger rose.

"Lastly are Poison types. They can resist Bug, Fairy, Grass, Fighting and other Poison moves and are strong against Grass and Fairy types. On the other hand they are weak to Ground and Psychic moves, have trouble with Ground, Rock, Ghost and other Poison types and have no effect on Steel types." He couldn't help the small but proud smile that formed but quickly hid it once more.

"Placing Lady Clair, Sir Victor and myself at the open areas will help further balance the teams as well." A third finger rose and held a moment before he closed the fist, then crossed his arms.

"I know there is far more to this battle than simple type advantages but I think it would be a good place to start from. Also, I can't speak for the other heir's or their opinions, merely from my own knowledge and observations. This idea for teams is quite possible, it simply seems like a puzzle to me in how to balance ourselves out. What do you all think?"

[Nexous]

I pick up Athena. "It's ok, we suffered our first true loss today. Come lets find Mia perhaps seeing she isn't the only one to suffer loss from our split will act as a salve for her wounds... more importantly she may have found one for yours."
