You tend to draw a lot of them directly facing the screen. The side view adds more cuteness and detail (in my opinion) on the second one.

So I have been working hard with both Cat Si and Zvezda. With Cat Si most of her base and tone shading is complete. I am just working on her dress which is quite challenging. Zvezda has received more tone and I have adjusted more of her features.

I have reconfirmed my love for cats with this one! Tnaks man by the way I've already send you the info.

Well I mean, I can't just show the back of the head can I? I want people to see the outfit she's wearing as it is her profile picture, which is why I usually draw them looking towards us. My harpy and succubus art will be from the side looking back, but generally I like drawing a mamonme moving towards the viewer. The Zvezda has that pose, because she is a star in the sky

I think that's very clever using motion to display your art as well as a kind of reveal of personality of the character as well!

The Lorei Siren would be cuter not looking directly at the screen in my opinion..I think it's a boring pose myself, but that's just me ya know, just preference..not talking about a bad skill level or anything! >.< (which is not the case)

I've done some drawing myself and I realized that drawing the first directly at the screen was not a pose I liked very much. I also realized how much harder it is to draw a 3/4 view head, which is what eventually killed my drawing pursuits..because it was so hard for me to do. Read books (Burne Hogarth) and the like, but still it was hard. Probably the hardest thing for me to accomplish if I ever wanted to draw, I think..

Like Kaaiman, I started properly colouring and cleaning up shoggo while taking a break from another design; cat si. This is because her dress is giving me some trouble with the creases . Her colour design is influenced by Timiddarkspy's Qrilithia from Somewhere Beyond the Sea.

I'm glad you like her! You can find her original art at the beginning of this gallery. I actually designed her as far back as 2012! Shoggo are interesting because they often play the role of servant, but are actually the lady of the house! They do the servant role for fun. Seeing as originally it said they can grow limbs at will, I made them bio-engineering and energy manipulation geniuses. Unfortunately they cannot fix their own problems.

This is the belle dame, she is an undead mamonme swathed in a dress of fire. They are usually born from those who could and would lead.

This is concept art for the Praxis variant of the ushi oni. I am going with the water buffalo horns seen in the original mythological images. I am also going with the spiny orb weaver as the abdomen, as the spines should make her look a bit more monstrous than a normal aranaei. I still need to cover those legs in fur, but she is getting there.

Zenko is in the shading process while this image is already obsolete, I have already started shading the designs on her kimono as well. She is wearing a kimono with geta, obidome and kanzashi

Ushi Oni is (dangerously) cute! I love the pose and design! That's definitely a new top favorite. Can't wait to see her final design.
