Flare makes things

So during the initial lockdown, I thought to myself "I need something new to do." and started looking up how to make stuff from resin. And being a nerd, I knew I had to make dice.

These are my first real attempt. A couple of voids in the D4 and D6, but not bad for a first attempt.

Those look pretty good Flare! What was the process like for you?

Mix resin, add in dye, mix well, pour into mold, let set up for 24 hours.

NIce, the one in the middle looks especially great

Yeah, that one was a bit of a bear to demold too. X_X

But learning as I go along too.

So, done a few more... had some successes, and a couple of....not successes.

That purple one... I'm just ashamed of, as it initially was really good, but then I mixed up some to fill in a void it had... and I screwed THAT up, and it became a sticky mess. >_<

Made using Metallic model paints.

And I daresay, I think I nailed the blue water one.

Definitely digging the ice-themed dice. I'd almost think the Schnee's took part in its making.

Realized I never posted this here!!

And it's amazing what one can make with tile grout. Made some miniature bases... surprisingly strong, and they take paint well!

These are actually goddamn amazing. When I made dice for games where we didn't have any I just chiseled them out of wood, plastic, or linoleum blocks. These though, with the paints, look like real official dice. Especially the metallic paints. Resin is an amazing substance.

Well, these are real dice. Gave a few to friends as Christmas gifts.
And also got more to show off!



Sadly, the D20 needs a redo, due to big bubbles on one side that I cannot easily fix.

And also, took one of my Christmas ornaments, and made a mold of it.

Here is what came out.



And with that, I coat it with nail polish that is glittery and whatnot, and boom, fun things that can be used for other holidays, or just for fun!

Made one to hang off of my fan's speed chain.

Well yeah perhaps I said it wrong but they are "better" than official dice they are custom dice to the degree I would compare to custom fightsticks. Even the apparently "flawed" D20 ones you just showed I would compare so marbles so I still would buy honestly.Just paint some black into the numbers and before you realize it you got a new style.

Well, the flawed D20... Several faces had voids, and it would mess up the balance.
