REUNION

The breeze blew its way over the surface of the sea. On the cliff's edge overlooking the tides, Joseph looked down.
Three years. Three years since his girlfriend Erin had fallen from her bike while riding along the cliffs and plunged into the ocean. Three years since Joseph was told that the love of his life was dead. Three years of endless mental anguish.
It was all over now. Today, Joseph swore he would put an end to his suffering. He readied himself, dangling his toes over the edge, then gave in to gravity and plunged forward. His body fell towards the waters for several seconds before finally making contact with the water. When he finally hit the ocean's surface, it was like falling through glass. Pain surged through his body, knocking him into a semi-conscious state.
As Joseph floated through the water, he felt something take his hand. Suddenly, a humanoid shape drifted in front of him. The figure leaned forward, and Joseph felt lips pressing against his own. And just like that, he felt rejuvenated-like he had a chance at survival. His injuries from hitting the water seemed to disappear. He brushed his hand against his neck and felt what were probably gills growing on the sides. He focused on the figure in front of him, and was awed by what he saw.
A curvaceous naked woman with light blue skin and long, navy-blue hair stood in front of him. She had six small spines growing out of the top of her head that looked vaguely like a crown. She had a long finned tail and fins in the place of feet on her legs.
A nereid! Joseph thought to himself. The two of them stood there for several seconds, her orange eyes staring into him, before she spoke. "How did you get down here?" she asked. "I jumped" he replied. She looked surprised. "On purpose?" she inquired. Joseph nodded "Yes" he bowed his head "I was trying to end my own life." The nereid frowned "Now why would you want to do that?" she asked. Joseph shook his head and replied "Three years ago, I lost the love of my life in this very place."
The nereid fell silent for a moment, staring at Joseph. Then, a smile spread across her face. "Oh Joseph" she said "you never lost her-we just got separated!"
Joseph snapped to attention. "You don't mean-" She leaned in and kissed him. "E-Erin, is that you?" he stammered.
Erin grinned. "Of course, my dear. I was saved by the goddess Poseidon, and now I've saved you. We can be together again!" The reunited lovers embraced. "I never thought this would happen" whispered Joseph. Erin smiled "But it did happen." She began unbuttoning Joseph's shirt. "Now, let's get back to the best part of our love."

I remember reading this one on MGU, though it is a bit short, I think it's pretty nice and sweet with a good ending.
