Hello all.

sorry i haven't posted in a while...life has been busy you know, but hey, its something we all deal with. but im back, and i hope i can start posting more often.

Anyway, today I've got something different to show you. As some of you might be aware, i am a fan of fighting video games. Specifically here, I'm talking about Soul Calibur V. Me and my mate Ace (pokemonaces) both hand out on Fridays and duke it out a few times, and one thing we have a lot of fun doing is making customized characters. so...when presented by his idea of making a Dhampir character, naturally, i when ahead and took the challenge (Challenge Excepted )

Well, after a about 10 minutes of work this is what i came up with. hope you enjoy.

Lol, not bad I used to try and remake characters in the Soul Calibur 3 back in the day

Ah. The character is made from scratch, but I'm using Raphael's style with her, as the rapier is used by her in the picture. in battle she is above average, able to compete with quite a few other the fighters, though she stumbles on the high defense characters, as her hits are fast, but low in power.

Damn what's your secret to drawing? Would take me a couple days to make something like that pic with the two girls and the mention of a whistle.

Ah then with the way I'm building up with my drawings it'll hopefully take 5 if I put the effort and get the teachings. Any tips you might wish to share?

Nya...Were do i start

I took anatomy classes to understand the human body, though artist models (those weird looking wood people with no face) or having a friend model works too. hell, even a mirror and yourself do well. even so, the best advice i can give you is to find your own style, and work with it till its perfect. your never going to make a drawing that everyone will like, as everyone has personal preferences in they style of their choosing. id study an art style you particularly like or are good at, and find ways to mirror it at first, than tweak it to make it your own. I'm not saying copy...that's no fun. I'm saying look around and explore till you find a medium your both good with and enjoy. i like pencil per say, but I'm also not bad with oil paint or pastel, and i like sculpture too. As for art basic...one of the biggest pieces of advice is value scale. always adjust light and dark to make your picture interesting. utilize your medium to the fullest and dont forget all of the basics. Form, Shape, color, value, texture, space, ect. Though, my biggest piece of advice...is patience. ironically, im not a patient person, but ill still spend hours on a single part of a drawing. granted, much of the stuff you see on my blog was manage in a matter of a shorter time, but im capable of realistic pencil drawings if you give me about half a day to complete them.


All in all, here the important part: Find a style you like, Practice with it, Remember your basic, Learn with and from your Medium, Be Patient with your work, and Have fun.

Also, good news. im Going to College!

This being said, im taking drawing classes. so over the course of the next semester, my drawing skills will improve by a college level, so i shall provide better drawings
