Monster Rancher

[Nexous]

History: Before the world's continents broke up into pieces, a huge disaster hit the world. The world was very empty so new lifeforms filled the emptiness. However, new life forms brought new troubles, but humans were not trusted with the new lifeforms so they were sealed in "disc stones". Many years have passed since then and humans were finally trusted with the secret of "disc stones". Today people still continue searching for these missing "disc stones" to unlock the lifeforms within.

It is said that the "disc stones" are almost impossible to find among the ancient ruins. It is said that one monster is trapped inside each one. One day a group of workers excavating the ancient ruins happened to dig up one of these mythical disc stones. The worker who first discovered a disc stone took the disc to the Monsters' Temple. There the priests, using the ancient methods, unlocked the monster inside the disc stone. Soon monster were becoming more common, and with any new power, someone steps up to abuse that power. That person is known only as Moo. Moo has found a way to turn monsters evil. A brave king once gathered an army, and tried to stop Moo. He failed miserably, now Everyone fears his name. There is a legend of powerful monster named Phoenix, that is said to be able to stop Moo.

Gamers:
It is E3 and, you are exited to see the release of the new Monster Ranches Genesis. It is suppose to be the greatest games in the series, with graphics so realistic the characters look like actors. Everyone is standing around waiting for it to begin. You find yourself to be one of the closest people to the stage it will be displayed on. All the lights go out, as the onstage spotlights come on. Rather than introducing the game however it just starts playing. The screen springs to life, and a book comes on screen. The text is in a made up language, however the voice that speaks is clear, and understandable. He begins to read the History of this world. The screen once again goes black, then a small village slowly becomes illuminated. The camera begins to move through the street, and comes to a merchant. To everyone's excitement the rumors where true. He looked like a human actor, and the monsters looked just as real.(read the following.)

Residents:
In a bazaar a merchant by the name of Jean, was peddling his goods. Many people walked buy, and some stopped to look. It was a small town, but the business was good. The people of this town where having a festival. Earlier that day someone sold Jean a Stone Disk, which he now had wrapped up, and at his side. A traveler by the name of Gabriel was looking at the other wares, when all of a sudden a bell began to ring in the distance. All the residents of the village began to run about in a panic. Within seconds the residents where in there homes with the doors locked. Some of the merchants where banging on doors trying to get in to no avail, and others where packing up their wagons, and leaving. In the confusion only two don't seem familiar with the bells meaning. The merchant, and the traveler remain in place dazed by the shock. Then a group of black Lizardmen, led by a black flamed Salamander enter the village. "Where is the disk?" The salamander asks the two men. Before anyone could ask however a lightning bolt strikes out of nowhere. The oddest thing about it however is that is was red, and a red streak lingered where it hit. More, and more began to hit the same spot.

Gamers:(Again!)
A voice came over the intercom. "We are very sorry about that. There seems to be a small bug, I assure you however it is not on any of the test discs. Ouch! Can I get some technicians up here? The console won't reset, or eject the game." Suddenly a strong wind comes from behind everyone blowing toward the screen. Lights begin to pop. With a sickening feeling of dread, you realize it i not a wind coming from behind you, but rather a vacuum coming from the screen. You find yourself being pulled in by a force now too strong for you to resist. You see two others who now share your fate whatever it may be. As you are pulled into the Screen to your shock rather than smashing into it you are pulled through it. There is nothing but black for what seems like forever, then finally some light, you are moving toward it at break neck speeds.

Everyone:
Suddenly three people fall from the sky landing on Jean's cart. The three men are unhurt. It distracts the black lizards long enough for Jean, and Gabriel enough time to jump on the wagon, and escape. About half an hour of riding later you find a large wooded area. Following a path into it seems like the best idea, and another fifteen minutes later you come across a clearing. You find it a good time to figure out what is going on, and decide a plan.

[Heero]

Gabriel hops off the wagon and starts to ask where did the three strangers come from when he spots the stone disk. "Where did you get that?!? and while i'm at it where did you three come from and what's with those strange cloths..."

[Oersted]

When the screen transitioned to the streets of a village I was amazed to see how...real it looked, hell, I wondered it was really actors we were seeing, of course I presumed that it was only the graphic used for cut-scenes...

But then weird stuff started happening, apparently they were having problems with the game, then there was a strong wind coming behind me, wait...no. It wasn't wind, it more like a suction, coming from the screen and getting stronger, quickly enough I can't resist the pull anymore and actually get dragged off my feet, as I expect to crash through the screen and evidently get injured I instead find myself passing through it, like some kind of portal, and then its all blackness, but after a bit I see light...

When I start seeing normally again I am quickly reminded that gravity is a bitch and land on my ass in some cart, then, after some blurry bits I was in a clearing in a wooded area along with four other dudes, one of said dude starts asking questions in a rather quick pace "Huh, while I'd love to answer some of your questions I feel like I've been watching a movie on fast forward and only now start to actually pay attention...So give me a minute to try and understand what the hell just happened, alright?"

[Heero]

(sigh) "yeah i guess i'll give you that, need to settle down form that chaos." he then starts to walk around the clearing.

[axc_o]

"they are not that rare, I even got a similar one for sale. The desings on them are the odd ones *staring* what means niiké? sounds asian to me and why do ya need so many large pockets in your pants?"
by now Jean has noticed the stone disk in the men's hands, but since it wasn't the "disk donna" he was looking for the tradesman focused in the weird green jacket one of the men was wearing

[Creator_Drake]

Drake was amazed as the game played out. now this was the level of graphics gamers wanted! He couldn't wait to start playing. Then the technical malfunctions occured, lights popping out, and the weird wind blowing towards the screen. He gripped a nearby handrail as the wind grew stronger, becoming more like a vacuum. He watched as two others were pulled off their feet towards the screen when he realised his grip was loosening. He tried to re-affirm his grip but it was in vain. Grasping at air with wide eyes, Drake was soon pulled into darkness.

Tumbling with no sense of direction, the sudden light blinded Drake for a moment. Feeling the wind rush past his face, he looked around only to find him falling towards a cart. While miraculously landing between the other 2 from before, unfortunately he landed hard. His sense of balance was shot further as the cart lurched forward. The ride was a bumpy one until finally stopping into a clearing.

Holding a hand to his head, Drake shakes off his sense of vertigo. Blinking as his eyes came into focus, he found himself not in the stands of E3 but in the cart he fell into, and rode in. Watching the peddler and another man get off the wagon, he sat up trying to get his bearings.

The other man whirled to the peddler, asking where he got the monster disk, before whirling to him and the others, asking where they had come from and about their clothes. Hearing the men at his sides groan, he stood, soon helping the others to their feet. The man on his left pretty much summed up the way how he felt, before the first man to speak began to walk around the clearing.

"Trust me buddy, you wouldn't believe us even if we told you."

Drake turned to the peddler, listening as he talked.

"Nike is just a symbol for a business with the same name. He's got so many pockets cause they were made like that." He then noticed the peddler look at each of them in turn before settling on his dress shirt.

"So... you like my shirt?"

[Heero]

Gabriel stops as one of the other strangers was talking to him and walks over to the group. "try me buddy. and merchant they those disks are rarer then you think..we should take that to a altar and revive it." gabe looks at the disk wistfully before turning his attention back to the newcomers.

[Creator_Drake]

Drake raised a brow, before shrugging as he sat down on the edge of the cart.

"Alright, hows this? We're from a completely different world, one ruled by technology more advanced than you can imagine. We were at a gathering called a convention for virtual entertainment created by this technology, where your world was being showcased. The 3 of us were somehow sucked into a giant viewing window called a screen and dropped into this cart. Oh, and monsters don't exist there."

He waited for the reaction.

"Ah, right, my names Drake by the way."

[Heero]

Gabriel blinked for a moment, taking in the information. "Soo what your saying is all of this a fake and doesn't exist except to entertain you people...and everything that i do is for nothing b/c in reality i don't exist?" he walks over to drake and looks him in the eye. "So my father disappearing looking for rare stone disks IS JUST SOME PLOT MADE UP BY PEOPLE IN ANOTHER WORLD! AND THAT ATTACK WE JUST ESCAPED IS JUST FINE!" Gabriel takes a deep breath and gives drake a hard look then storms off.

[Creator_Drake]

Watching him storm off, Drake sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"That could have gone better. Way to go Drake, open mouth insert foot..." He mumbled to himself, pinching the bridge of his nose. He looked at the peddler.

"Sorry about that, I didn't mean to make it sound like it did, I'm usually better with words. Although, I'm still trying to get over the shock that I'm even here in the first place." He trailed off, gazing at his hands resting in his lap.

[Oersted]

I look as one of the other guys from Earth tries to explain to the younger of the two people from this world how we ended up here, only to get the guy angry, of course I'd be angry too if someone indirectly told me world was a fabrication...
I say "Looks like you hit nerve, Drake. Then again, maybe you could try sugarcoating it next time?" as I get off the cart and look in the direction the guy Drake pissed off went in. "Hrmm..."

[Creator_Drake]

Drake nods to the one on his left as he got off the wagon.
"Yeah, though I can't change it now. I'll apologize once he's cooled down a bit. Although, thinking on it now, I think I may have been partially wrong..." He then stood from the wagon, only to lean on the edge. Brow creasing as he stared ahead, he braced one arm with a hand, and idly stroked the small beard on his chin with the other.

[axc_o]

(sorry guys, my sister stole the computer yesterday just after my first post)
"yeah, I think I could sell it for a good price if I make copies of it..."
Jean was already murmuring about business when he heard the group came from a world nothing of this was real
"oh!? You mean there is another world with no monsters in it? Do you think they would like to buy a lost amazon treasure I stole a decade ago in exchange for a business lisence to work there? I also got many fist-sized normal and enchanted gemstones if any of you are interested. Hey ya! the one with the pocketspants, can ya check if any of ya broke something with your fall? I was sure to tie everything tight and keep the perfumes in cushions, but I also got several boxes on top and those clay jars and pots and... Oh and put on the gloves at your left, some of my things are sharp, it actually suprises me none of ya are hurt with the spears, swords and knifes I got on the backpart especially with that duhalan sword, that thing never lost it edge in all these two years"
Jean said as he calmed the mares that pulled the chart and saved their lives

(dammit, I sent the post late and didn't read that no one was on the chart... Oersted, can you answer please?)

[Oersted]

"Well, that's IF we see him again, from what we saw back at E3 he was just a random client for mister merchant here." I said as I turned my attention to said merchant who then asks me to check if we broke anything in his cart "Sure thing." I then get back on the cart taking the gloves when he mentions sharp objects, I then start looking through the merchandise "To answer your question...given some of the stuff you have here I'd say you could get arrested or at least get in trouble with the authorities..." I stop looking through the stuff to look at the merchant "Well, we'd have to find a way to go back first, if there is a way to go back that is." I then sigh before continuing "Anyway, your stuff doesn't look too damaged, from what I can tell anyway."

Taking off the gloves and putting them back where I found them I once again get off the cart, then making my way to the merchant "Might as well introduce myself now, before something else happens...My name's Ruhiel, what's yours, merchant?"

[axc_o]

"the name's Jean Paul, but friends call me axc, tradesman extraordinary"
said the older man while offering and shaking hands with Ruhiel
"by the bye, mind telling me what was the item that would get me arrested in your world? Depending on your answer is my liking of your world"
Jean said while checking his chart's clay pots section
"lady Luck be graced, none of these got broke even after the rush"
the merchant grabs some cheap clothes a sword, a spear and a pair of knifes and returns to the trio of otherworldly men
"say guys, since none of ya seen to carry a weapon, what about an trade? your odd clothes for weapons and cotton clothes I brought from a weavers town? you don't want to grab tha much attention no?"

[Oersted]

"Nice to meet you, Jean and well, I'm not the most knowledgeable person about laws, but I'm pretty sure carrying and selling weapons is highly restricted where I live." I then watch as Jean is looking over his stuff and after a while start rummaging through it, and then take out a bunch of plain cloths and a few weapons...wait, did he really offer to trade for their cloths? After hearing the rather weird offer I cross my arms and sigh "I don't know what's weirder, the fact you want to trade for our cloths or the fact you want to trade WEAPONS to a group of total strangers...And I'm sorry to say but its a no deal for me, while I don't really like to draw attention I don't know how to use a weapon so I'd probably hurt myself on accident anyway."

[axc_o]

"well, unless it was a highly rare village attack the one we just witnessed and the village's people left us to die I really recommend ya to learn how to use a weapon and adquire one if not from me really soon. And I ain't no parent nor babysitter to leave ya alone and defenseless"
said Jean as he threw the spear for Ruhiel to catch and after seeing him bluntly grab it he turns to the other two men
"how about ya boys? Want to man up, face the dangers this 'fake' world have and trade for weapons?"

[Creator_Drake]

Besides learning the names of the peddler and one of the 2men that came with him, Drake had tuned most of the conversation out. Until the end that is.

"No kidding?" He shook his head ruefully before turning to Ruhiel.

"I can understand what you mean but, think about the kind of chance this is. Besides, there's a chance that, Jean was it? Right, there's a chance that Jean might have training versions of these weapons in stock." He turned back to Jean.

"I'll consider trading once I know what clothes you have in stock. As for weapons, don't really know which to choose to be honest. While I've never actually 'trained' with any of them, I think I could use any of them. With me being as tall as I am, and my long arms I have a bit of a reach advantage, especially with the spear, no offence to anyone here. As for the sword and knives, what make are they?"

[Oersted]

After I grabbed the spear that Jean threw to me I sigh "Look, I'll find another way to pay for it, I'd rather keep my cloths, especially since cotton cloths tends to give me rashes." I then turn to Drake "And what good would training weapons be? We don't have somebody to teach us how to use those weapons, its not like guns where you just point somewhere and press the trigger." after that I bring my hand to my face and stay quiet for a few moments "...I'm going for a walk, I'd like to reflect on what happened up to now, and maybe I'll be less whiny when I get back." I then left, walking in a straight line so I would easily be able to find my way back.

Once I got far enough I leaned against a tree and sat down, trying to sort out what happened and what I should do...

[Heero]

Gabriel steps over behind where Ruhiel and leanes against the same tree "So what's this i hear about guns? what are those? and sorry for storming off there it's a lot to take in. I can help you guys learn to wield weapons if you want...this world is much more dangerous than yours i would guess. by the way i'm gabriel."
