I dunno what are you are trying to imply there... Since "Worm" is a perfectly acceptable term for them.Severontous wrote:I guarantee you it is just a flat out Engrish typo.
Heck... It would be the first time that a typo would actually be accurate (it's not like when Kenkou used the term "Bicorn" when he should have actually used the term "Twonicorn"...)

First of all, I was referring to the "Engrish" interpratation (you know... the rule gap between japanese and english).
Second, give me a source link other than wikipedia of all things. It's about as credible as those spam emails promising free money.
Lastly about your point since you just had to bring it up, right or wrong as far as I am concerned, it is not. It will always be wyrm in my eyes, no alternatives, no debates.
Now go away and let me have my illusion. >_>

The LAST time I ever try to be helpful (And by the way, I could have given you like dozens of better links to support my point, but with my family gathered in my home and snapping into each other...each one louder than the previous one like I didn't have time to go searching more thoroughly).
You know what... Screw it, if you want to sink into the bliss of ignorance so be it. However I expect the same treatment for you in the future, if the situation somehow reverts in any possible future thread I expect you to remain silent.

You can't argue with J.R.R. Tolkien.
Anyway, for this worm/wyrm. She is more of the violent, straight forward and simple personal.

The problem with using the spelling "Worm" is that is brings a different creature to mind, and though I'm not as knowledgeable on mythology as some others here, there just might be a creature based on a worm or earthworm, thus "Wurm" or "Wyrm" are the better spellings, if for no other reason than to avoid confusion.

She looks more lamia-dragon mix than the Ryu (to me at least) so...she is helluva okay in my book (and thanks God Kenkou changed the spelling)

If we consider that drakes are smaller, and wingless (or posses small vestigial wings) dragons, I assume a MGE Drake could be... a loli dragon!!!Shadow of Legend wrote:How would a Drake differ from the dragon-types we've seen so far?

Re: Wurm
Following that train of thought, "wurm" shouldn't be an option either since it's both Dutch for worm and German for maggot.
Not to mention that it could cause controversy due to its similar name with Lindwurm (a venomous, wingless and bipedal dragon from both Scandinavian and German lore which name could be translated as "constrictor snake").
Simply put: I think that reason of the name change wasn't common sense, but social pressure among his fanbase.

From what I can remember, in some sources of fiction/fantasy, calling a dragon a "wyrm", "wurm", or "worm" was basically a form of insulting it. I'd think that unless they were Skyrim dragons, doing something like that would be something along the lines of a Too Dumb To Live, Tempting Fate stunt.
For the record, if the dragon in question were female and had at least human-level intelligence, I'd be showering her with compliments, partly trying to seduce her, partly trying to win her favor so we could get to know each other better and maybe become friends (and later, lovers). If it were male, I'd probably try and make friends while seeing if it were possible to somehow become a dragon, myself. Otherwise (if it didn't have human-level intelligence), depending on how hostile it seemed, I'd either try to examine it or leave.

I believe it's supposed to be ``Wyrm´´. I dunno why KK mispelled that but, honestly, it ain't the first time; in the Skeleton's profile, he wrote her name as ``Skelton´´.Katsoro wrote:O_O WUT? whats a Wurm? She is clearly a Dragonized lamia.
