This news is pretty old but ya I agree that it was pretty stupid that they got sent to prison straight away and that sentence is just plain wtf.

Here the sitrep two of the Bohemia Interactive staff (creators of ARMA series) have been arrested in Greece on charges of "espionage" when taking photos of the landscape on the Island of Lemnos. In recent news the Czech President (Greece's ally) has stepped in appealing to the Greek Court asking for the release of the two devs. Who happen to be Czech citizens.
