Re: Fire emblem Awakening
I know that, I even noted which were the strength and flaw of each characters in my last post...
On other news, I maxed Millie(For the record she ended with 1 more def point than Vinz.) and decided to make an all My Units team(Although I'll need to get more people for it.), for the heck of it and also since they make the strongest units.
Among those I took my tactician from my second game and turned him into a War Monk for the heck of it, here's his stats:
Alvan
Lv1 War Monk
Str:39
Mag:39
Skill:40
Spd:45(Strength)
Luck:44(Flaw)
Def:38
Res:42
Skills:ALL Breakers (Sword, Axe, Lance, Bow and Tomebreaker)
Axe:A Staff:D(Because you can't really train staves fast.)
I have the most random ideas sometimes, like, once my brother starts his game I'll use his char to make a General with Pavise, Aegis, Renewal, Tomebreaker and Luna.
Finally, I find it sad that you apparently can't get Shadowgift normally.

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
I exclusively save my arms scrolls for my staff users. Mostly because the people who actually fight get up to A rank in their weapons through the grinding I already put them through.
Started a female playthrough btw. I plan on marrying her to Yarne, mostly because he kicks a hell of a lot of ass on my main playthrough, and because I'm pairing Donny and Panne on this one.
Speaking of, LET'S TALK SHIPS!! Hahaha!!
First things first. My favorite pairings on my main playthrough;
Ricken X Tharja: It's extremely cute and she doesn't display ANY of her crazier tendencies in this.
Donnel X Nowi: Extremely cute with the whole childhood marriage promise thing at the end of it. Also turns Nah into one hell of a bruiser.
Brady X Noire: I'm a sucker for vulnerable moments, especially when these two end up sharing a medical tent all the time.
Yarne X Lucina: They vow to protect eachother in the end of their support line. Also, it pretty much turns Yarne into one of those Laguz royals(Not really, but he tears up in my game so the connection's there)

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
Lol, I paired Gaius with Panne, they have some pretty funny Dialouge. And Yarne managed to gain some sick skills thanks to the pairing. Nah and Yarne seem like an obvious pair, but their actually cute together in my opinion.
Now...I wonder...since Donnel has only a few classes to change from, would it be smart to change him into a demon fighter?

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
Lesse... I originally paired Panne up with Stahl. It's somewhat touching, and hilarious when Stahl basically face>peppers himself(Panne ends up licking the searing juices off his face, that actually clinched it for me lol)
As for Gaius. I paired him with Cherche. It's actually really sweet. The end of it basically has Cherche(Usually a bulky wyvern riding axe wielder) noting how Gaius(A speedy but fragile thief) keeps throwing himself in front of attacks meant for her.
Hmm... Oh! There's one pairing I doubt I'll stray from though. And that's pairing Lissa with Vaike, just because it fits... everything.
As for changing Donnel, I'm not sure. I'm usually content with making him a hero and being done with it. Check the stats and see what he's really good at. Though it may be worth it anyway due to the Dread Fighter's Aggressor skill. I mean you can always change back.

Same as me.ShadowTengu wrote:Gaius. I paired him with Cherche.
Again, same.ShadowTengu wrote:Lissa with Vaike
Other pairings I made are Millie & Chrom(due to the game auto-marrying them after the first part.) and in my second game I have Alvan & Nowi(I never knew you could kill a big snake by throwing a rock between its eyes), Cordelia & Stahl and Ricken & Panne (Ricken basically annoys Panne and sometime in that Ricken cries after hearing Panne's story.) Yeah, I don't do much pair ups.
And by the way, what's that "Dread Fighter" thing you mentioned?

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
Lol, I also paired up Lissa and Vaike. That's pretty funny. They seem like a very cute Couple. I did Ricken with Marribele, Nowi with Gregor, Lon'qu with Miriel, Chrom with Sumia, Allen with Tharja.
As for children, I liked Owain's and Noire's pair up. TRhey have a cute and funny dialouge.
Speaking of Dialouge, am I the only who laughed his ass off when Owain and Inigo started arguing at their first Support convo?

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
Dread Fighter is the class you get from the Lost Bloodlines 2 DLC chapter. It's basically a ninja that can use axes, swords, and tomes. They've got fantastic resistance(Mine capped at 44, three more than my defense stat) and they get a couple nice skills, such as resistance +10(Kinda redundant) and Aggressor(Plus 10 damage when making an attack, not defending)Oersted wrote:And by the way, what's that "Dread Fighter" thing you mentioned?
And Aces, no, no you are not. I just love the "Eternal Chastity" exchange. For a game like this it continually impresses me with just how consistently good the writing is.

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
I find Noire's support logs to be funny. the way she just suddenly changes her attitude when she gets serious. BLOOD AND THUNDER! Very funny way to start of a convo there.
Oh, if you guys haven't tried, do smash bretheren 1 and use Tharja to fight the Boss Micaiah, they have a funny little convo

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
Guys, DLC Smash brethren 2 just came out today! I finally got the bride bouquet Promotion Item.
I changed Noire into one. She's actually good as one. Plus, it helps the fact that her facial expression with the bride costume on makes it look like she's embarrassed, so cute

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
I prefer leaving Noire as a sniper myself. With Luna and Vengence she absolutely ruins everyone with a Double Bow.
But yeah, I really liked this DLC chapter, mostly due to the bevy of sacred stones stuff in it(Music, characters, etc.) And I loved the little conversation with Erika at the end of it. Who knew you could become a bride by catching a bouquet eh?

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
Well Noire's skill is kinda sacrificed as her stats show
Before:
Name: Noire
Lvl: 9
Class: Sniper
Hp: 80
Str: 42
Mag: 33
Skill: 50
Spd: 45
Lck: 45
Def: 42
Res: 29
Wpn levels: Bow A
Wife/Husband: Owain
Mother: Tharja
Father: Allen
Skills: All stats + 2, Tomebreaker, Astra, Lethality, Bowfaire
After:
Name: Noire
Lvl: 12
Class: Bride
Hp: 80
Str: 41
Mag: 42
Skill: 44
Spd: 47
Lck: 45
Def: 43
Res: 38
Wpn levels: Lnc A, Bow A, Stf A
Wife/Husband: Owain
Mother: Tharja
Father: Allen
Skills: Lancefaire, Tomebreaker, Astra, Lethality, Bowfaire
Her skill is lowered so her chances of activating her deadly skills like Astra and Lethality are toned down, but her speed and much higher resistance cap makes it worth the trouble. And loosing just one on strength isn't really a set back.
I couldn't think of any other units to change into a bride, and choosing Noire was a hard choice, but in the end I chose her.
I guess there's also the downside that she can't use longbow, towering bow, or double bow which sucks, but now she can fight close range

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
Finally tried the game. I jumped straight into hard mode classic. It's definitely proving challenging to not get anyone killed. I love how the game forces strategy (unlike Disgaea) and you can't just charge in and kill everything. I hear later on it's easier once you max stats out and stuff though, which is true to most RPGs anyway..
I'm only on chapter 5 but so far Sumia is my favorite girl. Her lack of confidence, cute personality, and clumsiness along with her amazing feathery winged steed makes her an instant fave. Favorite guy has to be Kellam the invisible tank! Funny enough I read that kellam means "peaceful dove" in Irish. We would get along good. ^^

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
Okay, I just played the DLC map "Death's Embrace" and...yikes, nearly failed it and almost all of my units are maxed! x_x
Two things makes it difficult, one:most of the map is covered in spikes which puts every character at 1HP at the end of the enemy turn(thankfully) and two:the risens there have very high stats. Oh, and did I forget to mention you have ONLY 10 turns to finish the map and the risens respawn up to turn 9. >_>

Yeah, at least the spikes also bring enemies to 1HP there's a also a zone that fully heals those in it, I cleared it on turn 9, btw.Feathers wrote:Wow that's crazy.
Very helpful skills are Lifetaker and Galeforce.
Oh yeah, while I'm at it, here's my full My Unit team:

Re: Fire emblem Awakening
I just met Olivia the shy Dancer/Singer, I think I'm in love!
She's exactly how I imagine a siren (though more showy haha) so most likely I will be marrying her.
I LOVE this game, I can't stop playing it.
My Chrom married Maribelle last night, they make a good pair I think.

Re: [3DS] Fire Emblem Awakening
I'm on Chapter 21 on my Hard/Classic mode now, and my team is pretty strong (most of em have around 70 HP with mostly capped stats). Donnel (Warrior) is easily my MVP and he basically CANNOT DIE, then Olivia (Sword Master), and myself (Dark Knight) usually can beat an entire map. I'm going for all healing skills on my character so he can have Sol, Heal after turn, and Heal after kill. I love all the skill options but it sure is a pain getting EXP after a second class change.
I'm taking my time on this one. I sure am going to miss it when I'm finished. $3 per DLC map seems like a waste though, I'd be better off saving for a new game. Still, I love the game and it's one of my favorite offline games since 2007, which is saying A LOT from a picky game critic like myself. ^^
As for new characters- I'm happy with Cynthia the Pegasus Rider, she's easily the most entertaining girl in the game next to Tharja. I accidentally missed Severa since the boss ran up and attacked my Donnel (aka suicide), but she didn't seem like a very nice character so I didn't go back and replay the map and just saved. >_<

That sucks, Severa can be a bitch, but she does have a reason for it.

Re: [3DS] Fire Emblem Awakening
Since It's been ages since I've played FE awakening (Considering I've been playing a game series that is currently dominating Japans portable console sales) I might as well give abit of an update
First, I've managed to get every character (Including parent, child, spotpass, dlc and some streetpass) the limit breaker skill. It took a long...boooooring amounts of grinding Rouge's and Redeemers 3 just to get that damn skill book. Afterwards came the long, painful procces of releveling everyone so I can increase their stats to maximum with Limit breaker again, it didn't take as long as I thought, and for the most part, I paired up units that can support each other (Still laughing about Gaius and Libra's Support convo ).
Second, I had one more DLC character to get before having them all, and it was Katarina. Now why is it so hard to get her you ask? Well because you have to beat the nearly Impossible to beat DLC Apotheosis which is known as the hardest DLC since every enemy there has maximum stats, with unbelievably cheap skills like the following
Dragonskin
Aegis+
Pavise+
Hawkeye
Vengeance
And other skills that I can't remember.
It took me 29 turns to beat it. And because I was playing on Hard Classic, I had to be extra careful, or I would risk loosing one of my units (Which happened several times, I always resetted it everytime I loose someone)
So yea, I'm a happy camper, all I really have to do now is get all of the support conversations possible, getting the S conversations will be a royal pain in the ass, but those humorous convo's are worth it

By which you mean stats higher than the cap, and that even WITH limit breaker, right?Pokemonaces wrote: every enemy there has maximum stats
Anyhow, congrats Poke, personally I have yet to clear Apotheosis, only managed to clear the first wave. But then again I haven't played for a very long time.
