"Heh, thanks Wren. I'll be sure to put it to good use." He gave the woman a nod and an apprecitive smile as he grabbed the gauntlet in hand, before slipping it on. Immediately he felt the smallest of pricks before the section around his forearm seemed to meld to it. Turning his arm in everywhich way he could, he noticed a seal on the underside, near the crook of his elbow. It glowed a moment before fading, the seal looking more like an extensive design in the material more than anything. Drake nodded approvingly.

"Nice. So Wren what do I need to know about proper maintenance, taking it off if need be, and the ever accidental case of breaking it?"

Wren smiled, and looked to Niri for approval as she took his gauntleted hand. Once she got her approval, she gently stroked the seal three times, in a different direction each time. The seal shimmered, and the gauntlet came loose again. Stroking it again, the gauntlet resealed itself.

"Most facilities will have a technician on hand willing to fix it for you," Wren said. "Because of the delicate tech, I'm afraid field maintenance isn't possible without a Mad Scientist, and because of their periodic insanity, it's too risky. A Junkia like me could pull the materials to fix it out of their backpack and fix it, but it's too random to be reliable." She cricked her neck. However, these new models have greater durability than the previous model. They can't take too much, but they can take a hit much stronger than the previous ones."

He gave her a sharp nod.

"Good to know, although I doubt I'd ever get a Mad Scientist, things are insane enough as is with my Leviathan." His quip earned him a slap on the arm from said 'maiden.

"Master!" He merely laughed, it was all in good fun after all.

Wren laughed. It was a good laugh, one belonging to someone who'd lived a good life and was perfectly content. "Glad to see you kids got a good relationship," she said. "Reminds me of my husband." She sighed happily. "Anyway, you need anything else, you stop by anytime. This old robot's more than happy to give you a hand with it."

Elsewhere, Mary was trying to convince Myriad to let go of a particularly adorable and particularly expensive plush toy of a white unicorn pony. This had resulted in the comical sight of Mary stuck halfway into Myriad's shell, her legs dangling out as the shell tried to hold her back, Myriad curled up inside her shell and pouting

"You can't just waste Master Vlad's money like this, Myri," she said.

"But it is so cute and fwuffy and I wuvs her so!" Myriad said, sticking her tongue out at Mary.

"Can do Wren." Chuckling he gave her a two-finger salute beofre turning to find that scene Myriad and Mary were in. With a raised brow he perused his bond with Mary to see what this was all about...he idly wondered how he became so used to it now but shelved the thought for later. Coming to the center of the issue scratched the bak of his with a sigh.

"Alright alright you two that's enough. Mary stop trying to force Myr to give you the toy and Myr, let Mary down gently alright?"

Myriad pouted, but let Mary go. The DemiElohim dusted herself off and blushed. "In my defense, I wasn't grabbing it from her. She just had her shell grab me when I suggested that she not waste your money right now," she said.

Myriad sighed. "...It's rare that I get cute stuff, okay? My pals that I hung around with in Lady Elohim's library didn't really get it, and I never really had the money for it," she admitted.

The Video Girl smiled. "We can hold it for you if you make partial payment now," she said. "Just pay it off in installments."

"Plus," the Broadcast added, her belly monitor displaying various items that could be purchased this way, "If you want to get a lot of stuff, you can pay for a tessaract pack in the same fashion."

"Tempting, but I'll hold off on the pack for now." He looked at Mary.

"Alright, I understand. But if its something small like this that you want, its fine so long as we have the funds for it. And if we do both you and Niri can grab something as well if you like, it's fine by me."

"I am content to be with you, Master Vlad," Mary said, bowing and smiling.

"Suck up," Myriad teased.

"That comes later," Mary said, her smirk becoming mischievous. "Among other things."

Myriad blushed, looking out of her shell, holding the cute unicorn plush with the purple mane. "...I can really have this, Master?"

He gave Myriad an encouraging smile.

"Like I said, it's fine by me. I can see that it means a great deal to you so I have no problem with it. Besides..." His smiled turned even more mischievous than Mary's. "...you can consider it a present from me to commemorate our intensive taming." Turning to Niri if she wanted anything, but she merely shook her head, telling him no. With a shrug he walked up to Mary and pulled her in for a sharp kiss. It was quick, leaving her breathless.

"I'll hold you both to that 'suck-up' comment, just so you know." And with a cat-like grin gave Mary's rear a playful slap and squeeze. Watching from behind Niri giggled.

"Master is in a playful mood today."

Myriad smiled and hugged the plushie, blushing. "Thank you, Master."

Mary blushed, grinning. "Oh, I'll definately 'hold up' my end of the bargain," she said. She nodded to Niri. "That he is. Shall we pay for Myriad's present and be on our way?"

"That we shall, and that reminds me..." Checking one of the isles Drake came across some regular pokeballs, on sale "Buy 2 get the 3rd Free!". Placing the items on the counter purchasing the items had been a snap, 6 balls and the plush brely put a dent into his funds. Their business done he bade the 3 working 'maidens farewell and walked out the store with the girls in tow, Myraid hugging her new toy happily.

"Now then, Mary, would you happen to know where we would go the get to Chrono's tower from here?"

Myriad hugged her plushie tightly, singing softly inside her shell, her shell bodies not mimicing the action. Mary looked thoughtful for a moment, and then nodded. "This way," she said.

She led them down a hallway past the lounge and the gift shop, down a hall that forced the tall DemiElohim to bend over a little and fold her wings back. They came up to a door that said "Authorized Personnel Only," which opened for them, allowing them into a much larger room with a single portal on the ground. Mary nodded. "This is the way to Lady Chronos," she said. "Just step in."

To demonstrate, she stepped in the portal, a clock appearing as she vanished, slowly ticking away, a cosmetic effect of the portal.

Well, that's certainly a way to travel. Once Mary had gone through, Drake motioned for Myriad and Niri to go on. Each did so without hesitation, soon leaving him alone in the room.

"I know you can hear me Abyss, Mainframe. I hope to be back soon when I can, and hopefully it'll under more pleasant circumstances. I'll get you to smile again Mainframe, that I promise you." With his cliche line finished he gave one last goodbye before stepping onto tye transporter, his form soon disappearing.

When the others stepped out of the portal, they found themselves in a large room, several portals lining the room. The sound of heavy gears was in the background, each portal flickering slightly, each one generating an image symbolic of the Legendary's lair it led to. The portal they stepped out of held the image of a computer monitor. Over on the far corner was a heavenly gateway, symbolic of Mary's mother. Mary, standing by it, bowed to Drake when he appeared.

"Welcome to the Clocktower," Mary said, "home of Lady Chronos."

Gazing about he he nodded in appreciation of the decore, it seemed fitting to him. The teleportation hadn't felt any different from other methods he'd used before, so he was easily able to get past it.

"Pretty nice place. Since this is a tower, which floor are we on now, and from that, which floor would we find Chronos herself? Any last minute warnings about her own quirks?"

Mary's grin turned strained. "...This room tends to shift from 'era' to 'era.' All the floors are decorated according to era, from the very beginnings of time to some unspecified time in the future," she said. "It's difficult to predict where she is at any given time. She may time travel randomly when talking to you, and she tends to shift tenses a lot. Like one minute she'll be

Mary sighed. "She... she's almost as unpredictable as Lady Macavity at times," she said.

At that point, the portal leading to Macavity's home shifted to a poster saying "Praise me more!"

For a moment Drake blinked before lightly slapping a fist into the palm of his opposite hand.

"Riiiight, time traveler. I tend to forget a times how awkward it can be to speak with someone who can do that." He ignored the poster that led to Macavity's home, while shrugging.

"Well, we're here now, better get this show on the road. If you could lead on Mary?"

Mary nodded, and led them out. It turns out that the portal room was currently on the 'Renaissance Era' of the Clocktower, the entire floor having a museum-esque feel with art and Da Vinci-style devices in various rooms around the long circle of the center of the tower. Some of the rooms held projectile defenses specific to the era. In the center of the tower was a series of gears and cogs arranged in a pattern which shouldn't work, but did, extending high up into the distance.

Mary nodded. "We're about a third of the way up," she said. "We can explore various eras if you want. Lady Chronos already knows we are here, and will find us when she feels like speaking with us."

"Eh, true enough, that and we might run into other people that you know or could prove to be valuable friends in the future. I've always been a fan of ancient history so this is actually a good thing.Wonder what the Edo Era is like here."

Mary nodded, smiling. "A lot of historians come here," she said. "Lady Chronos is the most powerful time traveler in the world, so they know everything she puts in her museums in 100% accurate."

Myriad whistled softly, rotating her shell around. "Even with eyes going everywhere, it's hard to take all this in..." she said, hugging her plushie.

Mary smiled, and motioned for them to go down. Edo Period was three floors down.
