So I heard this game Bioshock Infinite is amazing, anyone tried it yet? Or is it all hype?

I played the first one and it was nothing amazing in my opinion, although the powers were interesting.

Well, I'm holding off on it personally. I've been hearing a lot of great things though. Metascore has it at 96/100 at the moment according to it's Steam page.

IT isn't perfect,

i preferred a lot the gameplay of the older bioshocks on those i could stack up on First aid kits and EVE HYPOS to dominate on boss fights that were supposed to pose a challenge (silent hill level type of hoarding...yeah im like that), now you your EVE (or mana bar) is replace by a "Salts" bar, which serves the same purposed but cannot be regained mannually by injecting an EVE HYPO, once you run out you have to find Salt potions or eat some nutrients to refill some of it, and the best Vigors (the powers) are too bloody consuming to keep your Salts up its not even worth using them

and besides, enemies die quickly as hell now due to the two weapon limit mechanic, where it feels more "CoD" like

the big daddy version of enemies though, are quite challenging, which is good, don't they dare disgrace them bid daddies, that'd be the worst sin they could make!

i liked the weapons in the last games as well, due to it not having the 2 weapons maximum capacity and the upgrades on them actually show what they did to the weapon and add a whole other mechanic to the weapon's playstyles (such as the rocket launcher's damage immunity upgrade which made it an awesome weapon if you got ganged up by enemies, you'd just shoot the ground and they would scatter away from you, without you suffering any damage)

however i have to admit, the artistic style and design of the city if beautiful and the best thing in the whole game for me

and i actually cared about the characters in this one, all of them, in the other games the only character i ever truly cared about was Eleanor

Using the sky hook, its just awesome jumping rails and travel at rolercoster's speeds around town

i could go on, but i don't want to give spoilers, so thats all that i have to say about it

it is A GREAT GAME but its in my opinion not worth a 98/100 or a 9/10

thats just me, the game is 8/10 at best

I finally bought (was half off on steam) and completed this game. It's amazing, and definitely more fun than the older Bioshocks in my opinion. If you play on Hard mode or up, the game is punishingly challenging as well. Medium or below is just way too easy though.

I heard a lot was removed the game (such as Elizabeth having a more active role) which did disappoint me.

One thing that dissappointed me was that the "boys of silence" turned out to be exactly the opposite of what they initially were supposed to be.
They were portrayed as people who couldn't see you, but could hear you instead. But they were just restyled cameras from the first two games, that couldn't hear for shit. (i unloaded an entire shotgun in the same room and he didn't even flinch) So yeah, a complete 180 there, development wise. :whatever:

One funny thing i should mention: When i played on hard mode, i ran out of all ammo and salts whilst fighting the siren for the first time, so i had to resort to the tactic of sitting in the corner of the map, waiting for her to fly by so i could melee her in the face. It took me 15 minutes to take her down from 10% remaining health. (there should be an achivement for that)

Nope, there aren't any real Big daddy's either.
This game is a entirely seperate event from the first two games, so there is no adam or eve, or splicers of any kind.
Also, this game has a AMAZING storyline (wich gets a bit confusing at the end, but is good nevertheless).

It takes place in the flying city of Columbia, a idealistic, peaceful, high-class world full of luxury and shizz. The main objective is to find a certain individual, but you soon get framed as a public enemy, and get involved in a revolution, led by the minorities being surpressed by the rich, white people.
So, most of the enemies you will be facing are just regular humans, some powered with "vigors" (this game's version of plasmids), and some semi-boss characters.
The game has a lot of fun weapons (is a hand cranked gatling gun good enough for ya?), unique powers, and quite a bit of side quests.

It has recieved some criticism for being different from the other games, but on it's own it's just plain awesome.
Available on steam and totally worth buying. :goodjob:

My favorite part of the game : Murder of Crows. Nothing like blazing through levels with a shotgun, blasting faces up close, hurling crow swarms and nests and going, "GO FORTH MY CROW ARMY, AND DESTROY THE WICKED ONES!"

Wait, why is everyone staring? *hides*

Meh, shock jockey is better: nothing like fighting enemies with an assault rifle while shooting electrified crystals from your hands to eletrocute/create laser traps for enemies >:D

although it with crows is quite good too, "Go my electrical crows of electrodoom!"

I used shock for non-bio units (what kind of harpy lover wouldn't love lightning?). Charge (wind snatch ;)) was extremely fun as well. Those were my main 3. A suitable set for my playstyle and likes I'd say.

Try bucking bronco (earth one that makes enemies float) with the devil's kiss (flaming grenade!) to make an explosion that erupts into a rain of firebombs around the area, all for a pretty minor salt cost, good for clearing rooms of mooks

My top three has to be: 1. Charge , 2. Bucking bronco, 3. Possesion
Since i'm more of a gunslinger, i use the Vigors mostly as support elements.

Come to think of it, BuBo+Charge combo would be fun to try. (batter up!)

I didn't use possession until I got the upgrade to reduce the salts it would use up, it was just too high -_-

My favorite was return to sender, skeleton hands is nasty but hey, if i can make a shield to block bullets and then throw the shield back to do damage is a lot of fun to use, specially against patriots "You can have these 100 bullets you just sprayed onto me back you son of a bitch!"
