Post by Drazzimyr »

I got both earlier today, but I'm working on playing X first. At this moment, my team is a Frogadier (named Hayabusa), a Charmeleon (named Smaug) and a Fletchling (named Pet Shop).

Anyone who correctly guess the references in my teams names get's a cookie.

Hayabusa-> Ninja Gaiden (You get extra bropoints if you named your frog basing it on the 8 bit games rather than the newer sagas).
Smaug-> The Hobbit
Pet Shop-> Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Act 3: Star Crusaders (Pretty clever name by the way).
And Kaijin you are the "Perentie" of this place, IMO.

Just a question, are we giving away friend codes for the game around here? I can't remember if anyone's made a thread or anything for that.

I think there's a thread for that. Nope, there isn't. There's ones for everything else though.

And also, I got the following so far.

Beedrill
Braixen
Wartortle
Pansear
Pansage
Fletchling

Not my fully established team yet, still working that out.

There IS a friend code sharing thread. Look for a thread called "Rezeed's Nintendo Dojo".

Then where is it? Nevermind. It's in the online games section for some reason... That's why I could not find it.

Update

Full team
Lvl 30 Gardevoir Female
Lvl 25 Qualadin Male (Nickname Chesknight)
Lvl 23 Raichu Male
Lvl 23 Pidgeotto Female
Lvl 22 Panpour Male
Lvl 28 Combusken Male

Two badges so far

This game get progressively more challenging as you go, for instance, I have a pretty hard time getting my team's lvl balanced out because of the fact that the wild pokemon don't give enough EXP as I want it to, that and they're pretty strong...or my pokemon suck.

Eitherway, it's been 3 months since I've played pokemon so I guess I'm a bit rusty, and getting used to the Fairy type adjustment is a hassle for me as well.

But at least as good news, I'm ahead from most of my friends nearby that have the game like I do. Hopefully I can get a megastone for Gardevoir soon :3

Decided to pay homage to both Megaman Battle Network and Yu-Gi-Oh with my Froakie's name: Uragaeru. Atop being named for Flip-Flop Frog's Japanese name, it also refers to the Undernet (Ura Net in JP), as a tip of the hat to its incoming Dark type.

Got Y version, and I've just mashed the 1st Gym. Is it just me or is the move it gives you a little . . . creepy?

EDIT: I have a Honedge now~! Though, oddly enough . . . well, while the Pokedex says that anyone who grabs Honedge's handle will get wrapped up and drained of their life energy, for some reason in Pokemon Amie, my Honedge likes it when I give attention to that spot.

Also, for some reason, somehow, my Honedge is a girl. A female Honedge. How do swords have genders?

This is kind of a silly question seeing how all of you guys are basically sticking to the already existing pokémon (the only "kalos"mons used in your teams are either the starters and the Fletching line (that looks pretty promising despite that nasty quadraweakness to rock)), but... Has someone tried the Espurr evolutionary line?

I kinda like the whole line's design (both genders) and I could use a psychic type that is not weak to poison and can evolve in game without having to trade it if/when I lay my hands on both a 3DS and a game of my own, but it would nice to have an opinion about it (stat distribution, movepool, etc...) beorehand...

Well The pokemon I chose for my party have proven reliable to me in the past games, so I see no reason why I shouldn't stick with it.

I had to repeat the Yveltal capture scene 3 times just so I can get it with good EV's and IV's. Wasn't much of a hassle. Apparently Yveltal is more special attack than physical (Since most of his moves were special attacks)

I'm on my way now to the final Gym leader. Then it's off to beat the game. Afterwards I'll transfer a boat load of my pokemon from white/white2

My Honedge made it to Level 22. She wants to learn Aerial Ace.

Upon dwelling on it, the reason this bothers me isn't that it's not a Flying-type (floating sword and all that), but that her Ability for her first two stages is No Guard. A Pokemon that has No Guard, is learning a move that's designed to not miss.

If it's happened before, whoops, but I can't help but find it odd running into it now.

Roster update: Replaced the monkeys with a Gloom, and an Amaura.

Amaura's just a cutie. :D

Update

I caught Mewtwo and Zygarde! I've had to soft rest the game so many f***ing times just so I can get the ones with good EV's.

Edit
Spoiler: show
I just realized that Malva, ones of the Elite Four, is a perfect for guys who have a serious Femdom fetish, bitch looks down on you even after you beat her ass :stunned:

Amaura is not only a cutie, its ability is a GODSEND. Refrigerate turns all normal type moves into ice STAB moves when used by either Amaura or Aurorus.
Strength becomes a physical 80 base power physical STAB move, making it really useful since its even stronger than Ice Punch.
Both Hyper Beam and Giga Impact turn into 150 base power ice STAB moves, making them stronger than Blizzard and even Kyurem's signature moves Ice Burn and Freeze Shock.

That little thing is delightfully broken... I can't barely wait to train it myself...

.P.S.: Marriland caught two Espurrs (one of each gender) and he's training one (for the time being) on his Pokémon X video walkthrough, so hopefully I'll be able to see for myself how good a Meowstic is before training one. (And by the way, there was no need to quote my whole post just to (not) give me an answer, aces..)

Oh, sorry Kaijin, if it upset you in anyway, I didn't mean it, honest :what!?:

On a sidenote, along with Refigirate, there's also Pixilate and Aerilate. With Pixilate, I can use my sweet Mega Gardevoir to demolish Dragon type pokemon with a fairy touched Hyper beam :goodjob:

Well, just bought the Y version but since they didn't have any remaining physical cartridges I had to buy the downloadable version(which I'm downloading as I write this.) and so I'll probably share my team and my thoughts about the game soon enough.

There any other Pokemon that have Pixilate that you've found? (Same question about Aerilate.) It'll be good to know for future teambuilding (it never ends~).

On my own side note, a funny thing happened on the way to the forum. That is to say, in the 3rd Gym. So, for once I'm using the Spoiler tag for actual spoilers!
Spoiler: show
I was fighting that one trainer with the Hariyama that knows Whirlwind; their previous Pokemon knocked my Floette for a loop, so I switched to my Doublade to beat their next Pokemon down with Shadow Sneak . . . but, that first turn I used Swords Dance and promptly learned hey, this guy knows Whirlwind!

Of course, it pulled out my Fletchinder.

The battle played out like this: Peck, Whirlwind, Shadow Sneak (they'd pulled Doublade back out), Whirlwind, Peck (Fletchinder again). They fainted from that other Peck. It was just too silly, and the end of that battle to boot.
Needless to say, I was laughing 'til the next trainer.
