[Wii U] Hyrule Warriors

Apparently, Tecmo-Koei(The makers of the Dynasty Warriors series), Team Ninja, and Nintendo are working together on this game and they have some pretty interesting features going for this game.

Some of the currently established details:
- Ocarina of Time Impa is playable.
- Being Released August 14th
- Premium set comes with a Triforce shaped clock, and serial codes for 6 special costumes.
- Will also be a ‘Treasure Box’ version available on Amazon and Tecmo Koei’s online store ‘GAMECITY’, but no details yet on what it includes.
- Developed by ωForce, Team NINJA, supervised by Aonuma.
- Story is Link an in-training soldier must rescue the Princess Zelda from the witch Shia who has been turned evil somehow.
- 2 player mode where one person is on the GamePad, while another is on the TV. When playing alone the GamePad acts as a menu.
- Equipping different weapons onto characters will change the way they fight, including speed focused one-handed swords to heavier weapons that focus on damage.
- Weapon upgrade system and character growth/improvement
- Musou action combined with the Zelda series’ Z-targeting means you can avoid attacks and focus on enemy weak spots.
- Zelda series’ spin attack appears instead of the Musou Ranbu (?) of the musou franchise.
- Bombs make an appearance, won’t just be used for throwing at enemies.
- Impa, a captain of the Royal Army, appears as a playable character wielding a giant long sword.
- Several other characters are playable too. Aonuma was surprised by how many.
- Playable at E3.
- Development is 70% complete.

From the looks if it, I'd say it's a cheap cash grab (no offense to anyone that likes it!). I hope I'm wrong though. Still disappointed that Zelda isn't playable yet. The damsel in distress thing with her just needs to go away already. Zelda franchise has so much potential and I can't understand why they wouldn't seize the opportunity the glorify Zelda, Midna, etc. and REALLY cash in on their greatness instead of repeatedly milking Link for all he's worth.

Whose to say she won't be playable in some shape or form. The warriors games are known for having rosters that are large and varied. Heck, the smallest roaster count for a warriors game I've seen was about 15 characters. That should tell you something about this game.

Here's also another little interesting tidbit. Koei-Tecmo, the people mainly developing it, who went on record to say they are big time zelda fans, actually approached Miyamoto and asked him while asking Miyamoto to ask on their behalf to Aonuma(The current director of the Zelda series) if they could make this game. They actually asked for their permission to make this game in collaboration and with Aonuma's supervision. The fact it's non-canon and meant to be a labor of love should help that fact. They even made impa close to her Ocarina of Time Incarnation.

For those who worry that Zelda isn't playable, put those worries to rest cause she is! Not just that, but the Twilight Princess, Midna, is playable too!

after so many Dynasty warriors game, I grown tired of same theme same characters and some background.

But I am glad they to do other theme and making me more interest in it.

We have new character reveals. Agitha, Zant, and Argorok from Twilight princess are going to be in the game with the first being officially comfirmed to be playable. Her play style will have her main weapon is a parasol, but she also commands a legion of insects. Along with that, the Original Character for this game, Lana, is also playable and she her fighting style is purely magic based.

On another note, Kenkou Cross himself is even on board this hype train.

This game is starting to sound bland now. Now that I look at the real game it looks like a mod or fan work of an existing title at this point.

Well, the game is not complete so it's still subject to change and can become even better. It is true the devs working on it are fans, but Aonuma is looking over their should in the matter.

To be fair, the Warriors series(Dynasty, Samurai, and Orochi) are known for having a large and diverse playable character roster. So it's to be expected that they have all sorts of playstyles and weapon types being done with the entire cast. In fact, in samurai warriors, there's a character that uses a kodama as a weapon and that's no joke.

In anycase, try to reserve judgement until the official release, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Errrr... not really...

I honestly don't know what to think about this one...
Team Ninja being behind and introducing heavy Musou elements into an Adventure oriented (with slight RPG touches here and there) series? That doesn't sound like the brightest idea to me...
Even some of the designs look "un-Zelda-like" (the main villainess seems more fitting on a DoA).

Oh well, time will tell... And Lana looks quite adorable.

Zelda is playable now and I was talking about the user Whippe Lash as she would be referred to as the insect queen. Speaking of queens, zelda is going to be the queen of hyrule in this game according to Aonuma. Apparently, the Japanese version of A link Between words has Zelda the queen.

Well Rez the gameplay doesn't look like my box o' graham crackers. Too much mass slaughter and it doesn't seem like much else. I do enjoy a lot of action in my games, but this seems over the top for me. I'd probably check it when the price goes (way) down though. Just to see Zelda's lights and Midna's shadows.

Well she does look awesome. I'd love to see her playable in a real Zelda Nintendo made game (besides Smash anyway) some day.

The more I see of this game the more I love it. Then again, I've always been a fan of the hack n' slash action of the Warriors series. (Warriors Orochi 3 is my favorite so far.) This is looking like a very worthy addition.

According to this week's weekly Famitsu, FI from skyward sword has been confirmed to be a playable character.
