[PS Vita] Monster Monpiece

Thanks to a random websearch I found out about a new "rubbing" based ecchi monster girl card game (yes and they are actually CALLED monster girls by name). From Compile Heart, the makers of Hyper Dimension Neptuina and Agarest War, we have Monster Monpiece coming to the VITA this Spring.

Our time is here, monster girl fans, the new MG order is finally coming (maybe?)! :happyness:

I heard that the US release is removing a lot of MGs sadly, because of censoring crap..including "Vampire, Kraken, Goblin, Cockatrice, Kobold, Skeleton, Titania, Bahamut, Fia, Brownie, Pegasus, Mandragora, Mau Sibau, Rafflesia, Death Scorpion, Phantom, and the Tengu".

This is such madness though! The Cockatrice and Tengu were removed?! I am a sad birdman today..I hope at least a Siren and Harpy exist. I'm sure others will be saddened by some in this list too. :( Still, I'm gona grab this game for my shiny new Vita that I picked up last XMAS because hey, A MONSTER GIRL GAME! 8-)

"Gameplay" (LOL)

Ecchi or not, I'm damn excited to play an ENGLISH story driven MONSTER GIRL game completely about monster girls with RPG and card elements. :goodjob:

Based from the comments, I don't think this game will be well-received...

Yeah, I can understand why a more hardcore MGQ fan would like MGQ more than a softcore MG Vita title. The rubbing thing does seem a bit silly, but I'm more into less serious games that do not involve rape so it could be a winner for me. I need Vita titles so I'm gettin' it regardless, unless the reviews and Let's Plays show a REALLY bad game anyway! I'll be sure to let you all know how it is if I do get it though. ;)

I do admit that I've noticed that Compile Heart games are usually or miss. Humor and/or ecchi plays a big role in their games most of the time, from what I've seen. Personally I like their games for the monster girls and wacky humor.

Well now, this is amazing! Finaly the MGs are getting into the limelight of the mainstream!! Hopefully, this will be the first of many.

Still, it's very sad to see that, as usual, the game will be getting a serious case of Bowldlerization here at occident. Sheesh..... Hopefully someone will create a sort of uncensoring patch or something along those lines (IF such a thing can be applied to the game, that is. I'm rather ignorant about if that's possible for newer consoles).

...I think I'll stick to getting Demon Gaze in April. I may need Vita games, but I'd rather use the money that would otherwise buy this game to get a 64gb memory card for my Vita instead. This 32gb is getting filled with PSP games already.

I like monster girls, sure, but rubbing 'em in public, and with it being a card game? Not so sure about that one. I have a feeling it'll wind up like Valhalla Knights 3.
Beware the wrath of the minor roles!

This is coming to the US? I'm surprised by this. America has never been very popular for mainstream games about perversion. Hence Ar Tonelico's status of cult following.

Yeah Helios, seen Conception II? It's causing quite a stir as well. http://www.atlus.com/conception2/

Also.. http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/surge ... 250033606/ We have the Vita quickly becoming the new ecchi platform of choice..thanks to it's rubbable screen.

LOL Truth be told I'd not play this in public. I usually pick the most violent games to play in public. I scare away many people with SMT IV for example. "What are you playing?" "This is like Pokemon for adults, with demons." "Oh, umm..that sounds um cool, I never heard of that..." *leaves*

Their MUST be harpies in the game though, or they will not get my $$.

Official response snippet from the Devs.
We kept the same number of cards in the game as the original Japanese version, but replaced some of the higher level Monster Girl images with the “less exposed” lower level versions of the corresponding Monster Girls due to some intense sexual imagery. The number of censored cards is about 40 out of the approximately 350 card images available in the game. This means that over 300 cards are left untouched from the original images. That said, each card that has had its image removed will still have the same number of levels for the player to increase, but the higher level card images will be the same as the lower level, even though they have leveled up and have become more powerful. We would like to emphasize that the game’s playtime, the game’s system, and the game’s features are all the same as the original Japanese release, and players can level up their Monster Girls to the highest levels as well, again, matching the Japanese release.
Seems that main censors were from the loli characters (I should of known that kind of thing would be the cause), which I honestly don't think is a big deal myself. I won't miss them myself. Some of them DO seem way too extreme for the US, so I can definitely understand the decision to do this. Heck, after seeing some of the images (first time seeing them today) I'd be hesitant to even place a credit card order on such material if it was NOT censored. ^^;

I remember this one... I actually uploaded some official art from this game in the gallery some time ago.

I've got three things to say about this game:

1. If the game is meant to be released in American territory, then it's possible to have it in Europe too (which is a good thing)
2. As usual American censorship is downright brutal and absurd. (which is a terrible thing to happen since you're basically paying for an incomplete product)
3. Just like PS3 and PSP, PSVita is region free and this game doesn't seem to have a region lock (Only Atlus was moronic enough to region lock a game and piss the heck off three different regions at the same time).

So... If I ever lay my hands on a PSVita (that is far from being my intention for the time being), I'll import the Japanese version.
And Kaijin you are the "Perentie" of this place, IMO.

Release date May 27/28

Will probably be the last game I buy in a long time, since I'm losing my house within the next 2 months. Already have the money on my PSN, have to use it eventually anyway.

Game is out. I already bought it. Love it and only playing 30 mins. It's a pretty stylish visual novel and the battles are quick n fun. The artwork is good too, thought I wish the harpies had more feathers. I have a Dodo and Snow Owl already. :) The werewolf main girl is pretty awesome too. GG and Dogkama would probably love her. xD

Now to try to find a peaceful moment to get to play it..

The reviews all pretty much say the same thing - Great card game and worth it, if you can get past the sexy monster girls (That's no big deal for us yea?). They even rate it up there with MTG. You really have to think out the battles in this. The rubbing is no big deal all you have to do is tap a spot. The up and down rub is not even needed.

Haha I figured. Yeah it was like $2 on the Vita a couple years ago. Let me tell that this game is very hard, not because of a skilled challenge, but because the computer cheats like crazy. All their cards contain rare fairies that give them free mana for summoning their best units right away. It's sooo annoying.

This game was meant to be played multiplayer. The single player campaign is mostly a very long tutorial. Dialogue is very scarce and predictable, and (in my opinion) the gameplay gets repetitive and boring fast, because it just involves saving up mana for your best card and mowing everything down. Card draws are very expensive and dupes galore like a cheap gacha system. Oy..the only good part really was the card artwork, but then they were censored anyway. Moe Chronicle / Crystal are much better in my opinion.

By the way, I put together a team to translate Moe Crystal for the Vita. A large chunk of the UI already translated to English and we have a hacker who can insert English text and graphics into the game directly. We are almost ready to release our first beta patch for the first 2 chapters. Of course you need a jailbroke (Henkaku) PS Vita to play the game. Currently, I'm the only translator, but we have ones that come and go when they have time during gaps in classes.
