".....magical...girl......" *eye twitches*

All jokes aside though, i like the concept, we could use some more coral girls around here. ;) (right now those legs kinda look like carrots though. tasty^^)

Also the lake dance has some impressive flexibility there, at first i thought it was some kind of post she was leaning on, but nope, 'tis her leg. And yes, the figureskating outfit really matches her theme, i can imagine her putting on an amazing show. :^^:
As for the lamia, she's got a very nice pose, it's somhow cute yet sensual at the same time, nice work. :goodjob:

The coral girl is just one of them, I actually had a custom sorceress contest running about a year or two ago on MGU, but people didn't often post. I think I shall open that thread here too. The magical girl > sorceress idea originally started in 2012 as I wanted something magical for the setting and didn't want to use a witch. I came up with the idea of sorceresses being adults and the magical girls being more youthful(In their teens). I did not know though why the sorceresses and magical girls didn't like each other much... Then I watched Puella Magi Madoka Magika and found the extra inspiration I was looking for, i even developed my own sorceress runic language.
runes.png
Elements of these two are heavily influenced by Puella although I did my best to change things about it, for example sorceresses are stubborn, but with the correct partner they can get their original personality back. Their deception is a clever and quite efficient plan which takes care of Seretique's dissenters while possibly providing a military force via the belief that the Principal God has betrayed them... unfortunately for Lokaeli that plan backfired.

I think this one is very cute, she is a prize for the other winner of my contest earlier this year. A polimana living at The Little Miracle Monster Orphanage. If you want me to draw a picture for you too then please enter the Praxis, The world is Yours contest.

Yeah, For her hair and certain behaviour traits I was inspired by Hitsugi no Chaika's Akari specifically this scene.

So Hood should know all about this already, but my first example of Praxian megafauna is the Mozur, so far I only have the incomplete lineart, but I will colour it soon enough.
mozur.png
Mozurs are an apex predator of Praxis, an omnivorous bird which stands at roughly two times the height of a human. It's sharp, hooked claws on the insides of it's feet and strong, hooked beak allow it to hunt prey, however their kind also feed on berries and plant based foodstuffs. Mozur meat and eggs fetch a large sum, and as a result mozurs are often domesticated and fed a variety of flora. The great mozur runs take place in parts of the Luminaire Kingdoms and other regions specifically in central Palachia. Bandits often raid these events, stealing mozurs and selling them elsewhere at a high price.

Cute! I like the chocobo-ish birds, and the more dinosaurl ike feet are cool too. It might be a bit front heavy compared to real birds though, like the Cassowary (which is a favourite of mine)

It is based on the titanis bird which no longer exists.

I felt I should show everyone how minotauride is shaping up, I would really appreciate more comments please.

I tried amber for her eyes, but it didn't look that good so I changed her eyes to a dark green and picked out the muscles of her iris with amber instead... I like how it looks. I am thinking of adding some purple to the shadows, that or maroon.

I really like what you did with the face, and all the decorative detail you put into her costume. The pose is very cocky and confident, which I like, but it's also a bit loopsided. Especially with that big heavy axe it would make more sense for her legs to move inwards the canvas. I guess, think about it like the pose needs to balance out all the weight of the figure. Something like this http://puu.sh/iEJI1/9e28bda0ec.png Although I'm sorry it's a bit shakey, I drew it on a touchpad orz

Ah yes, good ol' Akari, hands down best imouto character ever.
The green eyes look good to me as they are now, they match well well with the red hair. The facial expression works very well too, "chummy" is the word i'm thinking of, the kind of person you'd have a pint with at the local Irish pub.^^

At first i didn't notice it too much, but after Jenny pointed it out i have to agree that she does look a tad unbalanced. Moving the legs is one way to improve it, but besides that you could consider adding something else to the other side of the axe, like another, heavier chain for instance. (just an idea)

But apart from all that, it's coming along nicely. :goodjob:

This will sound stupid, but I am really digging the look of that arm behind the axehead. I think you should make the blade semi-transparent for an interesting effect!

Maybe?

Hmmm :hero: well I could do a version like that for you, her axe is supposed to be iron with bronze embellishments.

Also, I made the adjustments according to that image and this is what I got.

I'm not that thrilled with it at the moment.

I think it looks good, you should feel good about it!

In all your drawings, what do you feel like you struggle with the most? (as in, what part of drawing)

for me it feels like it's the shading, it never looks to me like true manga style shading. Another thing with shading is I often see colours mixed into art which makes the shading look even better. I don't know though why or how it is done, I never studied art to draw like this. With Minotauride I actually was trying to go for the classic strong girl pose, front leg pointed a little further forward and shoulders twisted just a little more towards us.

I am realigning her chest as I noticed it is part of the reason she looks a little lopsided, I also added a weighted bronze ball to the end of her axe. To add to the shading I have slightly desaturated the base colour and have added an underpainting layer. What do you think?
