Re: [3DS] Pokemon
So it's April 1st and two things has come out. I doubt either of these are real but I figure I'll post them here.
First we have a trailer for Gen 7. Pokemon Zero and Infinity.

Second are "leaks" for Pokemon XZ and YZ. Two new forms for Zygarde.

Also seems there's a Nintendo Direct today so we'll see any of this is legit or not.

Oh I'm well aware of that Flare. I'm waiting the Nintendo Direct to come out. If it even is supposed to come out today that is.

Ok I have a small question, in Pokemon Omega Ruby is it possible to catch a wild Honedge, or do I have to trade for it?

You'll have to trade for it. Do enough wonder trading and you'll get (almost) any pokemon you want.hothead1021 wrote:Ok I have a small question, in Pokemon Omega Ruby is it possible to catch a wild Honedge, or do I have to trade for it?

Or use Pokébank if you already have (at least) one in your X/Y save file. You'll have to trade for it. Do enough wonder trading and you'll get (almost) any pokemon you want.

Re: [3DS] Pokemon
Pokébank is great..while it's free. I feel like the main draw to Pokémon (which was, in my opinion, trading with friends), has been pretty much destroyed in the newer games though. Course there was always the rich kid that had 2 Gameboys and both versions but that's another story.
I wasn't even able to get past the 2 Gym Leader in X/Y, I feel like I fail as a Pokémon player. "Why did it seem so dull?" I wondered. I spent so much time transferring my old Black Pokémon over, then just quit. Course everyone I've met says the OR/AS were much much better, so maybe I should give them a try.

There should be some fighting types or fighting type move you can use on that guy.Feathers wrote:Pokébank is great..while it's free. Re: [3DS] Pokemon
The rock type gym is past a beach filled with water type pokémon which should one shot Grant's Amaura(and maybe even his Tyrunt, which despite not being weak to water has a ridiculously low special defense).I wasn't even able to get past the 2 Gym Leader in X/Y, I feel like I fail as a Pokémon player. Also you're forced to take a detour to a route with ground types before getting to Cyllage City which has two ground types who will prove useful against Tyrunt (but not Amaura since it's part ice).
You can also fetch a Honedge or a Mawile in your way to Cyllage, which part Steel typing resist absolute everything on Grant's gym (sadly they don't get any useful Steel type attack by that point though).

Pancham, Mienfoo and Machop are available before getting to Cyllage and Hawlucha in the route outside Cyllage (in case of not having any of those three he can just walk a few steps and get a Hawlucha). There should be some fighting types or fighting type move you can use on that guy.
As for TMs... He should have Rock Smash by that point, even if it isn't that good of a move to use it would work well on Grant's fossils.

I don't think his issue was how to beat the gyms... I think he hit the same wall I did with ORAS: It has this subtle feeling of "offness"... Something about XY & ORAS just seems hollow for some hard to understand reason. The fact that the games are something like twice as easy as any of the games before them may play a role in that.

Re: [3DS] Pokemon
I can attest to the hollow feeling X/Y gives off. After getting to the post game my interest in playing the game further lessened more and more. While the game had an interesting story it didn't have anything fulfilling aside from aesthetics; There wasn't much to do post game.
The games were all looks and no substance, so to speak. However, I will say that I enjoyed playing ORAS. It was like a trip down memory lane and Hoenn is my favorite region next to Johto.
On a side note yes, the games were a tad too easy - with or without the improved exp share. Though pokemon tends to be easy regardless IMHO.

Re: [3DS] Pokemon
I concede about ORAS (I own a copy of Alpha Sapphire myself and I have to admit that I eventually grew up bored of it), since it's pretty much a revamped Ruby/Sapphire but with the "brokenness" of the Gen VI Exp.Share (as if Ruby/Sapphire weren't easy enough... Heck, Emerald seemed like an ordeal compared with those two, even if Game Freak turned Emerald into a glitchfest in the process).
But I disagree about XY, back on its day the game brought enough incentives to keep players glued to it like the type rearrangement (which was quite a bother to memorize again... heck, I had to explain to a few acquaintances of mine who (unlike me) were competitive gamers why Metagross was getting beaten by pokémon like Absol or Gengar), even with the almost nonexistant difficulty curve I spent like more than 250 hours on it and I only left the game twice: the first when Flare spoiled me part of the postgame's plot (which ironically enough is more of a plot than the main plot) and the second and last because of completion as I felt I couldn't squeeze any more from the game than I already did.
.P.S.:

.P.S.:
In White 2 I managed to oneshot the champion's whole team with a Serperior... Not in any other gen (or even the original Black and White) could I have pulled that out without overlevelling like a madman... (And that includes Gen VI)The fact that the games are something like twice as easy as any of the games before them may play a role in that.

Yes, that's what I meant, that I hit a wall of boredom. I never even saw the 2nd gym leader. It was very easy as you say, and it did feel "Off". Good way to put it. Guess I wasn't the only one then. Disappointed to hear that the Ruby/Saph versions suffered the same fate.

Re: [3DS] Pokemon
I can't help you there (nor I want to tbh)... If they bore you nothing can be done about that and the fact that you never were an avid pokémon fan doesn't help either.
If you still want to train "critters" and gain EXP from it try switching over Digimon instead, the DS World games are pretty entertaining (the Digimon World for 3DS only was released in Japan though.)
Also the Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor series should also be a very appealing series for you to try on in this case.

Re: [3DS] Pokemon
Oh, actually, I was quite a fan pre 3DS era. Just didn't have the time in college and I missed a lot of them, although I did hear after gen2 (I do have Gold version which I liked but never had time to finish) it was weak (@Pokecommunity, most folk agreed that gen 1/2 were great, then after that Black/White helped revived the series), then picked up again in Black. But hey, opinions are like...you know.
Talked to some fellas at work today and they felt the newer games lacked good plot (unlike B/W, which was pretty good in my opinion). I think the whole 3D model was it's main selling point, and they did do good on that part I admit. There was just no hook for me. I was rolling the game with 2 just monsters. I love the Pokémon Amie also, very cute. But the way the game held my hand so hard I felt like the game was trying really hard to be easy. I can understand why though, of course. And I'll leave it at that.
Yeah, I will be checking out the new Digimon Cyber Sleuth when it is finally released. Seems to be a nice combo of graphics/plot/monsters. SMT games got stale for me too, none of them really changed much and were just dungeon crawls with very limited dialogue. After Nocturne and DDS it seemed to go downhill. They moved back to flat image battles and no more (brutal) 3D model battles, which is what I loved about Nocturne, DS, and DDS, but that's another discussion.

Why do you need it for?im looking for a honedge anyone who has it is welcome to pm me
-Collectionism/ Sake of completion?
-Breeding (to pass down stats or triggering Masuda's method)?
-Competitive gaming?
Do you need it with any nature or egg move in particular? Or just catching any wild Honedge back on Kalos' Route 6 should do the trick?
