I chuckle, "Asmund may have even more eccentric than I am. Athena, we must not be outdone! AWAY!" I say pointing toward the door. I then rush out the door to catch up with Asmund.

Asmund and Nate:

The others follow you outside Reyn chuckling at Nate's comment as they catch up. As everyone regroups Yuri speaks up "Well, Heather you should probably lead the way to where you last noticed this mystery Pokemon." Heather nods "Right...I will lead the way then." Heather then leads the group outside the village passing by fields of Miltank and Tauros grazing. Along the way the other talk among themselves along with the Pokemon, and eventually Heather leads everyone to a route in the beginning of a forest, near the trail is some tall grass where various wild Pokemon can be heard.

"Well, this is the last place I remember the Pokemon..." Heather says sounding unsure "Don't worry we will find it we just need to come up with a plan to draw your mystery partner out in the open, does anyone have any ideas?" Edea says cheerfully

Maxwell then calls out "Deino is unable to battle the winner is Lickitung." Maxwell then approaches you and hands you a small root "That was a good battle, in the end it came down to luck...take this root your Pokemon may not like the taste, but it should help it regain its strength."

Reading the note reveals that the castle staff has invited all of the guests and their Pokemon to a large breakfast they have prepared this morning. Once you finish reading the note you hear what seems to be some of the other guests siring from their rooms as well as you hear movement out in the hallway.

Gabriel watching as lickitung KO's Deino with a hard look. He looks over at maxwell as he offers him the root and takes it, "Gratitude." he then walks over to Deino and gives the root to him, Deino makes a face as he chews it..after a few moments stands up and weakly yips. "You fought well Dee, there will be other battles." he pets his head as he stands and steps over to the other student. "Victory is yours today, but the taste will go sour in due time when next we meet on the field of battle." he offers his hand.

With a chuckle Asmund placed a friendly hand on Nate's free shoulder.

"Now let's not be hasty my friend. Perhaps we should let Lady Heather lead in this." He turned to Heather, Beldum matching the motion.

"Lady Heather, perhaps you could walk amongst the trees surrounding us? Take in the woods that surrounds you and just let your mind wander." The advice might sound a little odd, but there was reason to Asmund's words. He then turned to Nate.

"I recall you mentioning yesterday that your partner Athena can sense pokemon and human hearts yes? Would it be possible for her to sense a pokemon that is compatible with Lady Heather's heart?"

"yes, Athena can sense the hearts of humans, and pokemon with her horns. It all depends on how close we are to them, and Athena herself."

"I thought so. Would it be at all possible then for both Athena and yourself to accompany Lady Heather? What better place to be then by her side as she searches for her destined partner?"

Asmund and Nate:

Heather gives Nate a nod as she and Nate head deeper into the woods to search for her Pokemon...

Asmund:

Nate and Heather go ahead and the others stand wait behind you Reyn speaking up "Well, now it sort of feels silly for all of us to come if all it takes is Ralts...I suppose Zelos was right after all." Edea then replies happily "Perhaps, but at least it lets all of us get to know each other better..." She trails off as she looks to the road back to the village "Hm, it looks like some of the village guard are coming this way, oh I hope Kanbei isn't upset that we left the village." Looking over a group of 3 individuals dressed in the armor of the Palette Guard can be seen approaching the group.

Ashley crosses her arms as she looks to see "...Odd, they appear to not have any Pokemon with them. How are they supposed to defend anyone like that?"

Nate:

You and Heather make your way further into the woods eventually reaching a small clearing and Heather looks around "Umm, I suppose this is a good place to start. I'll do just what Asmund said." She approaches the middle of the clearing and closes her eyes appearing to be in deep thought, nothing of interest happens for a while until suddenly the woods that was once alive with the chatter of wild Pokemon suddenly falls silent and Ralts is unable to pinpoint any nearby wild Pokemon, this detail even breaks Heather from her trance "What, that's so odd...d-did I mess it up and scare off all the Pokemon?" She looks embarrassed as she asks this.

Gabriel:

"Perhaps, only time will tell...prince." Lickitung's trainer says confidently as he shakes your hand "But, that was indeed a good battle." Maxwell and the trainer then turn their attention to the nearby triple battle unfolding.

As the battle ends Maxwell approaches the group of warrior clapping "That was a marvelous battle and a hard fought victory by our guests." he then walks up to Cassandra, Graham, and Maru and hands each of them an Oran Berry to help heal their Pokemon "Thank you sir for the Berry, but also for the opportunity for such a battle, and also thank you for being such great opponents to challenge us so." Cassandra says proudly addressing both Maxwell and her opponents as she feeds Riolu the Oran Berry.

Maxwell then approaches his defeated students and hands each of them a root just like what he gave you "Don't be discouraged by this loss, remember there is more knowledge gained from a loss then a victory."

Ivadi:

After a short journey through the halls of Palette's castle you make your way back to the main hall you spot two of the other heirs staying here with you....A girl about average height with long red hair and green eyes wearing a red formal dress who appears to be partnered with a Vulpix, and boy about average height with blonde hair wearing simple green clothes accompanied by a Foongus. The two spot you and the girl addresses you "Oh, hello were you planning on going to the breakfast too...oh and by the way name is Olivia Lee of Laval, and this cutie is my partner Vulpix." She holds Vulpix in her arms and it happily cries as she mentions it.

The boy standing beside her then sighs slightly "...Right, back on topic I was just noting that I spotted a few of the Palette Guard heading to the Dining Hall, but it didn't look like they had any Pokemon with them which I thought was odd."

Olivia then chimes in "Perhaps their Pokemon are just sick or something, though I hope it isn't contagious I wouldn't want Vulpix to get sick on this trip."

Ivadi sees a red headed girl with a vulpix and a blonde haired boy with a vulpix after adressing you Iva smiles "Hello Olivia, my name is Ivadi of Psyonus and this is my partner Zach." he said as Zach himself bows politely. hearing the two talk to each other he chimes in "perhaps pokemon have their own place to eat to help socialize with one another here. for the illness...hmm depending on what it is, it could most likely be quite bad, or in an extremely rare case, Very good." he said

Gabriel turns as well to watch the triple battle. Its fast paced and seems even until graham gets the first ko with pidgey while maru gets the other. He smiles and claps as victory is sounded. After maxwell had said his peace he takes to heart what he has said. "There is knowledge in defeat." Walking over to graham and grasps his forarm "Congrats to you and Tynamo for your victory friend. It was a excellant show of prowess. One we shall prove someday eh deino?" Deino yips with determination.

Asmund watched as Nate walked with Heather into the woods, nodding to himself. Reyn's admission about Zelos being right earlier caused a snort of mirth to come from the Metalnian. Edea beat him to the punch in replying to Reyn but as he was about to speak the Palette princess noted the 3 guards walking towards them up the path, without any pokemon with them.

Turning to look at them his eyes narrow as a fist clenches. He released it as Ashley spoke, taking off his long sleeve coat as he did.

"Perhaps they are not." His voice was whispered loud enough for the group to hear, a hint of hard steel in his tone. He walked till he was standing beside Edea, somewhat ahead of her. If they looked at him they would see his shoulders had tensed up, then relax slightly. Holding his coat with a hand he flipped it over a shoulder, Beldum over the opposite, facing the approaching guards with his strong physique in view. He raised an arm in greeting with a smile that didn't fully reach his eyes.

"Hail, honourable guards of Palette. How goes the morning watch?" If he were wrong then it would be his blunder, but if his instincts were right... well he truly hoped he was wrong. He just couldn't shake the feeling that something felt wrong here, and he'd rather be prepared then not.

I notice all the pokemon go silent, then hear Heather's question. "No, Athena would have reacted... somethings off. We need to get back to the others quickly. You take the lead, so I can make sure nothing happens. Imay not be your prince, but it's still my duty to protect civilians."

(Sorry for the delay things have been crazy, also I won't be Pm'ing these battle since 3 are going on at once and they are all plot based.)

Asmund:

The guards ignore your words as they approach and the male guard to the right whispers something to the female middle guard which causes her to scowl at him before speaking to the group "Sorry to break this up but you need to come with us Sir Kanbei's orders." Yuri then speaks up "Wait, we came out here to help a friend, and some of our friends went deeper in the woods...so shouldn't we go look for them first?" The female guard then says flatly "It's fine we will come back for them after we get you safe...you wouldn't want to disappoint Sir Kanbei by not following his wishes would you Lady Edea?"

"I-I suppose not." Edea says in an unsure tone. However, when she looks at the guards closer her face becomes pale "W-wait, the royal crest on your armor isn't right...it's a fake, so the three of you must be imposters!!" The group already on guard from your words prepare to battle after Edea's revelation, both Reyn and Ashley along with their Pokemon quickly step next to you to defend Edea and the others. Seeing this the female fake guard gives a harsh glare to the man at her right "You fool, you were supposed to make these outfits look just like the real thing, and you messed that up!" He then nervously pleads to her "I-I'm sorry miss Andrea, but I couldn't find a mold to copy it so I had to make one by hand it fooled everyone else in the village, only someone who looks at it all the time could tell the difference."

Andrea then sighs removing the helmet covering her face letting down her long purple hair, she appears to be slightly older than anyone in the group "Whatever, I'm sure the others are close to finishing their missions, and if they wish to resist then we shall take them in by force, Edea is the main prize after all if we capture her Kanbei will be forced to give up Palette to protect his lord's daughter." She snaps her fingers and three ghost Pokemon emerge from their hiding spots in the forest beside the warriors a Sableye, Misdreavus, and a Duskull. Reyn then looks to you and Ashley "I hope you are both ready it looks like we have no choice but to take them on." Ashley gives you both a nod "Right, I won't stand by and allow them to use these cowardly tactics." Yuri then calls out "Don't hesitate to switch out with one of us if your Pokemon takes a lot of damage." With that the battle begins...

The battle begins and before anyone can prepare the male warrior who Andrea had yelled at strikes first with Sableye "Sableye, take out that Heracross with Sucker Punch!" He then activates his warrior skill Adrenaline raising Sableye's attack for 3 turns (Atk +1). Sableye creepily shifts forward and strikes Heracross with an underhanded blow (-6 Hp).

Andrea moves next "Alright my little Misdreavus take out that Beldum with Psywave." Misdreavus then releases an odd wave of energy at Beldum damaging it (-5 Hp).

Ashley's turn is next "Alright Sneasel, let's make quick work of these foes, use Icicle Crash on Misdreavus!" She then activates her warrior skill Marksman improving Sneasel's accuracy and increases chances of critical hits for 3 turns (Acc & Crit +1). Sneasel then creates a large shard of ice before launching it at Misdreavus, and it then shatters raining down icicles on Misdreavus hurting it (-10 Hp)

Reyn then attacks "Okay Heracross, let's attack Sableye with Rock Blast." Heracross slams it's horn into the ground kicking up two large rocks and flings them at Sableye (-6 Hp).

Nate:

You and Heather quickly retrace your steps through the forest and make your way back to the main road where you see Asmund, Reyn and Ashley battling a band of strangers using ghost type Pokemon. Edea and the others notice you and Heather emerge from the woods and Edea calls out "Oh, thank goodness your both safe...these people tried to capture us so Asmund, Reyn and Ashley are fighting back." Heather turns pale "T-that's awful...but why only the three of them, wouldn't it be easier if you all battled them?"

Clair then chimes in "It would, but that would break the rules of fair battle...you can't gang up on a someone with a band of Pokemon that is wrong...and while these people aren't being very nice it would be wrong of us to break the rules especially since we are all royalty as we set an example for our people, but we are able to switch out and keep battling if someone wants to."

Gabriel:

"I'm sure you will have plenty of chances to prove your strength in the future." Graham says in a cheerful tone as he feeds Tynamo the Oran Berry who quickly devours it.

The others and the students happily talks among themselves for a while before suddenly Kanbei his Slacking and some of the Palette guard approach the group. Maxwell steps in front of everyone addressing Kanbei "Kanbei, what brings you to my small school don't you have a castle to run while our leader is gone?" He says in an amused tone. "I'm here in serious business, there is a rumor we have some infiltrators in our ranks so I need to take the the royal children someplace safe." Maxwell crosses his arms "Hm, that is indeed serious...Slacking looks a bit serious doesn't he, not like his usual lazy self." Kanbei nods "Right, well with this crisis we can't afford to slack off.."

"Right-right, I suppose so.." Maxwell then turns his back to Kanbei for a moment he looks to his Spinda and they both nod in unison he then quickly picking up a rock and throwing it at Kanbei and it hits him causing him to disappear in a puff of smoke "I knew it, time to see who this imposter is..." The smoke clears revealing a girl with long black hair and a shiny Zorua, she quickly gets up to her feet glaring at Maxwell, however she says nothing which causes Maxwell to chuckle "Ha, so you have nothing to say now that you have been found out?"

One of the fake guards standing next to the girl speaks up "Miss Robin is mute and can't talk normally unless she combines her and Zorua's Illusion skills." Robin then looks to her Zorua and nods as the two become surrounded in smoke again and as it clears Robin and Zorua now look like Maxwell and Spinda. "You may of seen through our ruse, but it stops nothing...as Kanbei I sent the Palette guard in disarray having most of the army go off to chase tall tales of bandits and other tasks. This was just a bonus to capture you and the royal kids for extra leverage besides I imagine Andrea and the others finished their missions...so we will take all of you in by force!"

Robin has her forces attack, Maxwell and his students take on the majority of the intruders however Robin along with two grunts with a Poochyena and a Carvanha prepare to attack you and the others, however Maru and Graham stand next to you ready to battle, Cassandra moves to fight along side you as well but Graham speaks up "Stay back Cassandra, I know Riolu is still weary from that battle we can handle this, but you can be backup if one of Pokemon faints." Cassandra reluctantly agrees as the battle begins...

Robin moves first as she cancels her illusion returning both Zorua and herself to normal she silently nods to Zorua who then strikes Tynamo with Extrasensory (-12 Hp). Graham then activates his warrior skill Focus (Sp.Atk +1) "Alright, lets make this quick take out Carvanha with Charge Beam." Tynamo unleashes a mild electric beam blasting Carvanha knocking it out instantly (-26 hp) Tynamo then gets it's Special Attack raised again from Charge Beam (Sp.Atk +1).

The grunt with Poochyena then attacks "Poochyena take out that Deino with Poison Fang!" Poochyena then charges forward and bites down on Deino with Poison coated fangs, while Deino is weary from it's recent battle it is able to keep fighting (-5 Hp). Maru attacks next activateing his warrior skill Shadow Mirror (Eva +1) then has Spinarak attack Poochyena with Megahorn ramming it's horn into Poochyena knocking it out (-36 Hp)

Tynamo, Deino, and Spinarak gain a combined 73 experience each. Deino and Tynamo grow to level 6

Ivadi:
"Hm, I suppose your right it's probably nothing to worry about, by the way my name is Peter of Greenleaf and this is my partner Foongus." He bows politely and the Foongus beside him does so as well. The three of you contitune to make your way to the dining hall however as you approach you hear a loud crash and the sound of a woman calling out for help. The three of you rush in to see the group of Palette guards Peter mentioned before wrecking the dining hall with three Pokemon Bellsprout, Grimer, and Stunky. One on the maids hiding under a table calls out to the three of you "H-help, those three just started tearing up the dining hall!"

Peter frowns and looks like he is ready to battle "Alright you three your obviously not guards so who are you and what do you want?!" The middle guard then turns to the three of you and laughs removing his helmet showing his face "Ha, some royal wants to know about little me...I'm touched, I am Leopold and we don't really want anything we already completed our mission, so we are playing distraction to help the others." Olivia gasps "W-what, we need to get some help!" Leopold scowls "Not so fast, you really think I'll let you waltz out of here without a battle?" Peter looks to you and Olivia "Looks like we have no choice to to battle them."

The battle begins, and as Vulpix prepares to battle the sunlight near outside turns harsh...the warrior with Stunky attacks first "Stunky, use Focus Energy." Stunky pumps itself up raising its chance for a critical hit. Olivia moves next "A-alright, Vulpix attack Bellsprout with Ember." She activates her warrior skill Added Bonus, and Vulpix releases a small ball of fire hitting Bellsprout hurting it and leaving it with a burn (-14 Hp).

Hearing the crash, the three headed into the dining hall to see three goons disguised as guards and their pokemon causing trouble. seeing as they were caught in the act they challened them to a pokemon battle. though what one of them said about being a distraction did bother him a little

The battle starts with Stunky raising its critical hit chance and Olivia attacking the bellsprout with ember leaving a burn. since stunky is a dark type Iva knew Zachs Phsycic attacks will do nothing but perhaps a fairy skill might work. however he decided to go for the obvious choice and leave the Stunky to Edmunds Foongus for now

"Alright Zach, use Confusion on Grimer!" he said as Zach attacked the sludge pokemon with a super effective phsycic attack. while it would be nice if the attack actually left grimer confused, he wouldn't hold his breath

"Tch, I knew something felt off." The smile on Asmunds face fell as the guards turned out to be fakes. His shoulders tensed once more while a hand formed a fist then relaxed, before repeating. Sensing the danger once the ghost pokemon appeared Beldum moved forward, placing itself between the fakes and Asmund. Hearing Reyn, the Metalnian looked at him from the corner of his eye, giving a sharp nod before glaring forward, eyes hard as iron.

Seeing the first round of attacks caused a grimace to form on his face, looking forward after checking to see that Beldum was alright.

"I know not the reason why you've decided to enact this plot, what I do know is that you won't be leaving this forest without regret for your actions. That I have utmost faith in." Eyes narrowed as a hand faced forward outstretched. If successful he would have activated his Warrior skill Faith, which would allow both his and his allies attacks be successful for the next 3 turns.

"Beldum! Show them our iron will! Iron Head on that Misdreavus!" Asmund knew that as a Ghost type Beldum's take down would have no effect here, so he was forced to play his trump move, of which he was sure would surprise their attackers.

I arrive in time to see a battle commence. "Heather stay behind me! If any of you need to switch out keep me in mind! Athena, and I may not be a lot of combative use in this battle, but we will be of supportive use!"

Asmund and Nate:

Faith activates and now all allies moves would be successful for the next 3 turns. Beldum then slams it's mighty head of Iron into Misdreavus damaging it (- 9 Hp). The Duskull's trainer moves next "Alright Duskull, attack Sneasel with Night Shade!" He then activates his warrior skill Brotherhood Raising the defense of Duskull and Misdreavus for 3 turns (Def +1). Duskull traps Sneasel in a frightening illusion hurting it (-5 Hp).

The next turn of battle begins with Sableye's trainer once again attacking first "Heh, attack Heracross one more time with Sucker Punch." Once again Sableye creepily shifts forward and strikes Heracross with an underhanded blow (-7 Hp). Andrea then attack "You won't defeat us so easily, Misdreavus focus on the weakened Heracross with Psywave." Andrea then activates her warrior skill Convalesce as it slowly restores 1/8 of maximum HP of Misdreavus, Sableye, and Duskull for 3 turns. Misdreavus then releases an odd wave of energy at Heracross damaging it (-8 Hp)

Ashley's turn is next, she looks to Reyn and Heracross "Your partner has taken a lot of damage, you should switch out with someone else when you get the chance Reyn, and we should focus on the Sableye I think it is the biggest threat, but I can't attack it from here...anyways, Sneasel strike back at Duskull with Icicle Crash!" Once again Sneasel creates a large shard of ice before launching it at Duskull, and it then shatters raining down icicles on Duskull knocking it out with a critical hit (-18 Hp Crit)

Reyn looks to his hurt partner "Alright, I hate to leave a fight but we have no choice...Nate switch out with me, you may not be able to do anything this turn, but you can next turn...Alright, your turn Asmund." He says as he and Heracross step back from the battle.

Sneasel: 19/24
Sableye: 15/21
Misdreavus: 8/27
Duskull: 0/18

Heracross, Beldum, and Sneasel gain 49 experience points each. Sneasel grows to level 6.

Gabriel:

Deino follows your command and unleashes a ball of purple flames from it's mouth engulfing Zorua knocking it out and ending the battle (-40 Hp).

Poochyena: 0/20

Tynamo, Deino, and Spinarak gain a combined 60 experience each. Spinarak reaches level 7.

As Zorua is knocked out one of the fake guards calls out "Lady Robin, you and your companions need to flee the rest of us will hold off the students." Robin frowns as she and the trainers paired up with her pick up there Pokemon she glares at you as she throws down a smoke pellet covering their trail as they flee. Cassandra sighs "Damn, they got away...I suppose we should help the students and Maxwell." Maxwell then calls out to the four of you as he and his students are still locked in battle "No need we have this handled, you should go to the castle and try to find the real Kanbei so we can mount a full offensive on these infiltrators."

Ivadi:

Zach uses Confusion unleashing a mild yet super effective phsycic attack on Grimer damaging it (-12 Hp). Leopold and his Grimer move next "Hey Grimer, hit that Ralts with Pound will ya." Grimer creeps up and mashes it's sludge filled body on Zach (-5 Hp). Bellsprout's trainer moves next "Bellsprout, use Clear Smog on Vulpix." Bellsprout unleashes a blast of nasty sludge on Vulpix (-7 Hp). Peter and Foongus moves next "Foongus, use Body Slam on Stunky." Peter then activates his warrior Skill Added Bonus as Foongus slams it's body into Stunky damaging it (-7 Hp) and also paralyzing it dropping it's speed and leaving it possibly unable to attack.

The turn ends and Bellsprout takes damage from it's burn (-2 Hp). Olivia and Vulpix attacks first this turn due to Stunky's drop in speed "Alright, your doing great Vulpix keep it up by taking out Bellsprout with another Ember." Vulpix once again releases a small ball of fire hitting Bellsprout knocking it out (-14 Hp)
