I rarely play on there, but my crappy comp tends to make hissy fits, resulting in lag and/or freezes. For that reason I only really play against friends.Jinouga87 wrote:Anybody here use Pokemon Showdown by chance?

Re: [3DS] Pokemon
Thought I'd ask what everyone's favorite pseudo-legendaries are, I'm curious.
Mine are Tyranitar, Salamence, and Metagross.
Tyranitar is a hulking beast that can tank damage and dish it out, same for Metagross. Salamence is a speedy sweeper that can be a terror to deal with.

Dragonite. Although I do love my shiny Salamence. Especially since it's got special meaning for me. (Gift from a friend)

I dunno if he's considered a Pseudo, but mine is Aggron, Goodra, Salamence, and of course Metagross.

Aggron is not considered one.Pokemonaces wrote:I dunno if he's considered a Pseudo, but mine is Aggron, Goodra, Salamence, and of course Metagross.
Pseudo-Legendary is basically a (non-legendary) pokémon which base stat total is that of 600 (Aggron's BST is 530 in its base form).
As for me...
It would be Goodra, maybe it's not as cool looking as Garchomp, Salamence or Metagross but it's a extremely good special wall (the highest SP.Def of all pseudo-legendaries AND dragon types) and has the resources to make it a solid mixed attacker (vast movepool coverage and decently high Attack and Sp.Attack).
Besides it's adorable ^^
Who can say no to that face?
.P.S,: It's a shame that Hydreigon and Tyranitar have so many weaknesses (specially the latter, who has 7 weaknesses one of them being a quadraweakness), otherwise I'd use them way more often than I normally do (specially Hydreigon since it has a devastatingly high Sp.Attack)

It is very unfortunate. Hydreigon's second type adds three more weakness, and Tyranitar's even worse off.Kaijin wrote:.P.S,: It's a shame that Hydreigon and Tyranitar have so many weaknesses (specially the latter, who has 7 weaknesses one of them being a quadraweakness), otherwise I'd use them way more often than I normally do (specially Hydreigon since it has a devastatingly high Sp.Attack)
Thankfully Tyranitar has solid defenses, and it's Sp. Def gets a boost during a sandstorm, allowing it to tank for a while. Not much it can do against a fighting physical attacker; your options are profoundly limited.

Worse is that Tyranitar's weaknesses happen to be the most common attacking types in the game... Fighting type, especially, is a super popular coverage option.
It's still high in the tiers, though. It demolishes a ton of popular threats, despite its weaknesses.

And it's no wonder why. It's still high in the tiers, though. It demolishes a ton of popular threats, despite its weaknesses.
It has a devastatingly high attack stat, decently high defense and Sp.Def (which is odd for a Rock type to have), surprisingly high (for a Rock type) Sp.Attack and an uncommonly vast movepool coverage to boot.
Not to mention that it's an ideal partner for breeding, since it belonging to the Monster egg group means that can pass quite an impressive array of moves to most starters, most Dragon types, most fossils and a handful other interesting pokémon (like the Nido lines, Aggron, Rhyperior or Avalugg to name a few).
I'm not a fan of Rock types usually since they have quite a nasty array of weaknesses and what they do it's usually done by both Ground AND Steel types as well or even better (the last time I used a Rock type was when I got a newly hatched Modest natured Amaura on Pokémon X's Wonder Trade (before reaching Santalune's Gym at that <3) and I gotta say that I was pleasantly surprised with said line), but if I ever feel like laying my hands on Pokémon again I might try and raise a Bangiras* myself... It has quite a few nasty cons (in form of weakness and some to really popular types like Fighting, Ground or Water) but it definitely has quite a few interesting redeeming pros as well.
*Tyranitar's Japanese name.

Re: [3DS] Pokemon
Interesting typing (it has five resistances... three of them being QUAD-resistances and one inmunity... thanks to its ability but still), nicely distributed stats which can turn it into a fearsome mixed attacker and its signature attack looks really interesting... it's like an upgraded version of both Hydro Pump and Scald at the same time.
It has a pretty limited level up movepool (mostly Fire and Water type moves, with the the exception of some Normal type moves and a couple of non-damaging Ice type moves) and unlike almost every Water type pokémon in existence is unable to learn damaging Ice type moves... nor Rain Dance (despite being able to learn Sunny Day).
But in general looks like a nice addition to the roster (unlike a crapload of other legendaries) and it's quite a nice Fairy slayer since it has resistance, coverage (can learn strong Steel AND Poison type moves via TM) and stats to pull it off.

I personally wonder if she'll be related to Diancie. I mean a crystal princess and a gear princess, and the next one? Maybe a Ice princess.

So, tomarrow's Nintendo Direct will be entirely Pokemon themed, with a possible new game pair called Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon....

Re: [3DS] Pokemon
Been so happy about this, since I've never managed to get official versions of several of the event pokemon they will be releasing on this schedule (Meloetta, Arceus, Genesect, Manaphy and such).
<><><>
As for the announcement and game titles, I am pretty sure they won't be seventh gen games. Its just too soon, especially with the Zygarde formes being a pretty clear indication that we are getting a sequel/parallel to X and Y next. One theory I've been hearing though is that the rumored Pokemon Z (or perhaps XZ and YZ) could be the first game to introduce entirely new pokemon between generations, like a generation 6.5. More likely though is that like before we will only get new formes and mega evolutions, and Magearna is simply a preview for 7th gen like the movies have done for ages (revealing a select few pokemon from an upcoming generation of games long before the games are revealed).
