"Right, Leanna was it? This is Tina." Jack completed the introduction, at which point Tina smiled. "

"Hurry, and finish eating." A voice called over the room. You turn to see the same woman from last night. "We will be preparing for the first test soon." She says. "Once you are ready you will go out into the yard. There you will enter one of the transport pods, and select a button. It will take you to a predetermined destination in one of out training fields. There the first pirson you meet will be your partner. From there you will make your way to the center where there will be one final test. You will need to stay on your toes, as there will be Grimm in these areas. Death is a real possibility, as it is with any huntsmen." With that she takes a deep breath. "Again there will be no shame in backing out, and we urge any of you who do not think they are ready for such a risk to leave. We will not interfere if you find yourself in trouble, so please don't step into a pod unless you are prepared to give your life. This is the destiny of all huntsmen, to give their lives to protect others." She turns, and leaves. Letting the seriousness of her words sink in.
"That's Headmistress Olive Bassett." Leanna explains to Tina. "She's one of the best this school has seen. Everyone who has graduated from this school has become a huntsman, or huntswoman of note." She says clearly having a considerable level of admiration for her.
Simon takes a moment to eat as Jack finishes introducing Tina to Leanna, enjoying the nice moment as the woman from yesterday appears again to inform everyone that the first tests will begin soon, and once again reminding everyone of the dangers, however Simon remained unfazed. Once she leaves Leanna informs the group that the woman's name is Olive Bassett...Headmistress of the Academy, as Leanna speaks Simon politely nods as he keeps eating, in truth he was more focused on the though of fighting Grimm in the test, he has been itching to get into combat practice.

It is not long before you get your wish. You all finish your food before you head out to the yard. You see several pods are already gone. You enter one, and are nearly floored by the sudden jolt as it blasts off to it's predetermined destination. Your aura however keeps you from feeling the brunt of the sudden acceleration. After a moment you can feel the pod slowing down, then finally to a gradual stop. You can hear the sounds of combat outside. The sound of gunfire, and something slamming against metal. Once the door opens you see someone covered head to toe in heavy metal armor wielding a sword, and shield. The sword however seems to also function as a gun with an ammo belt leading to a massive steel container on his back. He is fighting with a large pack of Beowolves. Though they seem to have a hard time fighting him they have the advantage of numbers. The man is so preoccupied with the pack he hadn't noticed one had broken off, and circled around him.

Simon climbs out of his pod and immediately hears the sound of fighting and heads over to investigate. Once there he sees a large figure covered in armor fighting a pack of Grimm on their own, it takes only a moment for Simon to notice one of the Beowolves preparing to ambush the fighter. Simon then charges in with his weapon prepared, a large shotgun with large retractable blades on the side of the barrel (Something like the Bolt Caster from Xcom 2). "Hey, looks like you could use a hand!" He shouts as he prepares to intercept the ambushing Grimm.

The man turns as you call you to him smacking the Beowolf with his shield, but not before it's claw severs the ammo belt causing a few rounds to fall to the ground. You arrive just in time to deal the finishing blow. "Drat, that will be a problem." A voice calls out from beneath the armor. He returns to face the pack, which now has you both surrounded in a semicircle. "Well met friend. Would you be so kind as to assist me in wiping out the rest of these foul beasts?" With that an Alpha Beowolf nearly one, and a half times taller than the rest creeps out in front of the rest of the pack. It howls over the rest signaling an attach, and they all begin to rush towards you.

Simon is relieved to see the armored warrior defend himself from the attack at the last moment, and Simon slides in to deliver a point black shot to the Grimm after the the man smacks it away, unfortunately, it appeared the man's ammo belt was damaged in the attack. Simon stepped beside his new partner reloading his own gun as other Grimm had begun to surround them lead by an Alpha Beowolf. "Of course, you have a longer ranged weapon so take out what you can, and I'll deal with whatever gets close." When the Alpha signals the rest to rush the two of them Simon activates the blades on his weapon and grins as he stands his ground.

[Nexous]

The man laughs. "You realize I have about twelve shots left before the rest of the ammunition feeds trough right?" He asks before firing the remander of his rounds at the beowolves, not actually giving you a chance to respond. Fire balls seem to shoot out of his weapon striking down several grim. He then readies his now glowing hot weapon for mele combat.

[Drack]

"Alright, fair enough...an all out brawl is fine with me." Simon says taking note of his partners weapon then gets in to defensive stance ready to attack as soon as they get in range.

Results: Simon-2 Unknown NPC-6
As Simon prepares for the attack he assumes a defensive stance. Having not had the chance to fully assess his terrain his foot finds a slick spot. Due to however due to his sharp instincts as a huntsman in training he quickly regain his footing, however this only affords him the chance to fire off a single shot wounding one of the grim.
However the young man in the armor swings his sword in an arch cleaving three grimm in half. Smoke, and the sounds of searing grimm fill the air as the hot metal passed through their bodies. Leaving only a smell that can be best described as gunpowder smoke in the air where they once stood. The metal of his weapon has cooled down a bit, and is no longer glowing, but Simon can feel the heat off of it still.
Simon quickly begins to reloads his weapon after only getting a glancing blow on his target. He looks over to his partner who easily despatched three Grimm, not wanting to be outdone by his new partner Simon prepares another big attack...
Results: Simon-6 NPC-5
This time Simon's footing does not fail him.He swings forward with his weapon lodging is soundly in the head of one of the grimm. He then pull the trigger firing on a second grimm, and using the momentum he finishes the grimm that he had previously wounded with his axe. His partner blocks an attack from one of the beowolves, and shifts his shield under it. He then lifts it off the ground, and in a smooth action drops it down while trusting his sword up through the grimm impaling it.
Results: Simon-6 NPC-1
As Simon's ally was showing off he let his guard down allowing a beowolf to get inside of his reach. He uttered a swear under his breath as the grimm was about to come down on him. Simon was fortanate enough to catch this in time, and dispatch the grim with a dull thud. His partner staggers back "Thank you good sir. I shan't let my guard down again." He however misses his chance to attack this round, but ultimately is uninjured.
Results: Simon-2 NPC-6
Simon's save didn't come without it's own cost however. As he turn back he barely have time to clip the next gimm. The knight makes up for the losses however when he runs one of the grim threw before dragging his sword through it's left side disemboweling another grimm ,and finishing off the one simon injured. Their numbers are finally dwindling, and there are only a few left with the Alpha standing back watching the two men expend their energy fighting it's underlings.

With their numbers almost depleted Simon, and the knight are emboldened. Both men seemingly in tandem step forward Simon swings forward, and right, his unknown partner swings forward, and left. Both their weapons pass one another before departing in seperate directions, cutting gown the remaining grimm.
With a feral howl the Alpha Beowolf charges in not giving the men a chance to breathe.
The beast closes in quickly lunging at the man in armor, who barely raises his shield in time blocking the attack. He then channels his aura activating his semblance. Simon feels a warm light engulf him.

Alpha Bowolf: ??/?? Simon: 7/7 NPC: 7/7 Aura shield:10/10 (Will update OOC with boss fight mechanics. Check there as I will simply edit the combat post.)

Simon lets out a relieved sigh as the last of the smaller Beowolfs fall...only for the Alpha to charge and attack his partner, who manages to block at the last second and Simon is overcome with the feeling warm aura surrounding him which he could only guess was his partners semblance, so Simon activates his own...with an almost feral war cry he is covered in a burning red aura "Alright big guy, I've been waiting to get a crack at you!" He then lunges forward to attack the Alpha Beowolf. (I pick number 2)

(semblance effect +3 to modifier to hit -3 modifier to def. also all your attacks are treated as critical)
Simon swinga at the beowolf in a frenzy slashing it with his axe leaving a scar on it's face, however with his disregard to his own safety the beowolf manages to rake him with it's claws, but to his surprise it doesn't seem to drain his aura. "Ho there friend, I can only take so much damage with my semblance do try not to burn through it too quickly." The armor clad warrior says before slashing the beowolf with his own weapon.

Simon once again attack the grimm landing another blow, but it in turn lands another blow on him. This drain on aura seems to throw the young man off his game as his sword narrowly misses the agile grimm.

The grimm retaliates against the missed attack from the knight, who blocks his attack in turn. He then lands a blow of his own, staggering it back to be met with simon's axe. "Let's keep this up. At this rate he should be felled fairly quickly" The man calles out to Simon.
Alpha Bowolf: ??/?? Simon: 7/7 NPC: 7/7 Aura shield:8/10
The grim clearly wounded lurches back at the man, but it's claws fell uselessly against his shield. He then drew back back his shield hitting it with a resounding thud staggering the beast. Simon then lands another clean blow causing the grim to stumble back once more. With that the grimm turned in an attempt to retreat gravely wounded.
Alpha Bowolf: ??/?? Simon: 7/7 NPC: 7/7 Aura shield:8/10 (Will boost the threshold to hit the grimm as it is retreating at top speed)
Simon lands one one blow on the Alpha as it retreats it however manages to get just out of reach of the knights sword and make it's escape into the woods disappearing from view.
Alpha Beowolf: 1/15 Simon: 7/7 NPC: 7/7 Aura shield: 8/10
"Drat we almost had it." the knight says turning to Simon. He removes his helm revealing short blond well maintained hair, and blue eyes. "My name is Vincent by the way, sorry we haven't had time for a proper introduction earlier. I was however a bit preoccupied." He says extending his right hand to shake your own.

[Drack]

Simon manages to get one final swing in before the Grimm before it is able to retreat away from them. Simon takes a moment to catch his breath and and stop his Semblance as his partner introduces himself as Vincent. "N-nice to meet you Vincent...my name is Simon, and while I would like to chase after that Alpha; I think we should head towards our objective."

[Nexous]

"True, we should head to the center of the arena. Say any idea what this final test is? You don't think we'll have to fight one of the teachers do you?" Vencent asks, before pausing a moment. "Wait, which direction is the center?" He says with a small amount of surprise in his voice at the realization he didn't know the lay of the land.
"I'm not real sure what the final test will be, but I'm sure it will involve fighting more and tougher Grimm which is fine with me." Simon then crosses his arms when Vincent says they are lost "I don't know which way it is to the center, but if we take a moment we can get our bearings and go from there." He then takes a deep breath "First, it's pretty early still so by looking at the sun we should get a good idea where east is since, it rises from the east...also we are in a time crunch, but looking at the clouds could help too at they typically move west-to-east."
"Hm, well yes this is true, but which direction do we head?" He asks clarifying his meaning.
Simon thinks for a moment, in the rush of battle he also has lost his bearings and doesn't remember which direction he even came from. "Umm, why don't we try this direction." He says pointing North-West.
As you travel for a ways there doesn't seem to be anything of interest until you come to a beach. There is a small island in the body of water with two pods on it. "Glad I didn't land there." Vincent notes looking at the water. You can smell salt in the air from the small synthetic sea. There are clear signs of battle on the beach, with two sets of footprints heading eastward.

[Drack]

Simon travels with Vincent for a while eventually coming upon a beach "Drat, looks like we went the wrong way..." He says looking at footprints "We could follow them...it's definitely better than standing around here."

Vencent nods in agreement as you head off east. The lack of grimm is a bit eerie. You're unsure if the other team was that thorough, or if they were just avoiding you. You travel east for what seems like further than your starting point to the south. The clearing giving way to thickets, and woods. The trail you started following on the beach once again becomes visible in the form of broten branches, and trampled shrubs.soon you come to a cave, and you see Leanna, and rodger standing outside. Rodger is picking thorns, and stick tights off of his clothes, and Leanne has wearing a tight all black one piece form fitting sneaking suit, with a mask, and black paint covering her exposed skin, and scales. "Oh, we took to long, and they sent a search party for us." Leanne said teasing Rodger.
"I almost have the worst of it off, just hold your horses." He said in response.
"Well at any rate glad you guys made it, what ever's in that cave sounds mean, and a little help would be fantastic." She says looking over her sholder. As she looks over her shoulder it becomes harder not to notice just how form fitting the suit is. Vencent coughing, and averting his gaze seemed to acknowledge this fact.

[Drack]

Simon continues to move with Vincent a bit unnerved by the sheer lack of Grimm for a bit, but hope the other team has managed to deal with them and run off the rest...at that point they reach a clearing and Simon spots Leanna and Rodger near the entrance to a cave. "Ha, well we just couldn't let you two have all the fun...Me and Vincent ended up a bit lost and followed your trail." Once Leanna mentions something nasty in the cave Simon perks up "You think what's in there is our objective?" Simon only glances at Leanna as she scouts the entrance of the cave, too focused on the thought of battle to be rattled by her looks.

Rodger stands up, and offers his opinion. "Actually we've come to the conclusion whatever is in there is guarding our objective." He says looking up from removing the bramble from his cloth reveling a red mark on his face that looks suspiciously hand shaped.
Simon nods after Rodger speaks "Alright, so rushing in probably isn't the best idea, so does anyone have an idea to draw whatever is in there out?" Simon almost stops for a moment confused by the mark on Rodger's face, but manages to get his thoughts out.
"Well first before we lure whatever is in there out we should all make sure we're fully loaded, and prepared." Leanna says not yet looking back. "I'll scope out the cave, and see what we're dealing with, while you're all preparing." She says before quietly darting into the cave.
"Gadzooks, she's right I never took time to reload." Vincent said, and he begins fiddling with his ammo belt reloading it into his gun.
"Gadzooks?" Rodger replies to Vincent's exclamation with a confused tone, and he packs his muzzle loader blunderbuss.
Good call." Simon says as Leanna leaves, and reloads his weapon to get ready, but with the long trip it was possible that some sand or dirt had gotten trapped in his shotgun so he gives it a quick look over. Simon looks up after investigating his gun hoisting it over his shoulder "Gadzooks...never heard that one before."
"Yes, yes mock me all you will." Vincent says slightly embarrassed.
Leanne returns from the cave. "Alright seems we're dealing with a Beringel here, anyone have a plan?" She asks trying to keep her voice down trying to show more caution than before.
Simon just shrugs when Vincent gets embarrassed. Once Leanna returns and gives her assessment Simon crosses his arms thinking he then talks lower than normal like Leanna "Lets see, I think Beringel focus on close combat right...perhaps one of us could draw it out while the other three prepare an ambush."

Before further discussion could take place a deafening howl comes from behind you. You see the Alpha Beowolf half hidden behind a tree, though he wounds have already begun to heal you see the scar you left on his face. Once you have had the opportunity to see him he darts back into the woods, and you hear a deep growl come from in the cave. "What was that all about?" Leanna asks referring to the Beowolf. Vincent however just returns his attention to the cave, and quite literally lights up the mouth of the gave with his machine gun. The dust bullets igniting into flames as soon as they are fired heating up his gun to a glowing red once more. The Beringel burst out of the cave relatively undaunted by the flames. He beats his chest, and roars preparing to fight. Vencent flairs up his shield once more.

The discussion of tactics were short lived as it seemed the Alpha Beowolf from before had returned, but instead of attacking just roars before rushing back into the woods...alerting the Beringel "That was the Beowolf that got away when it first attacked Vincent." Simon says quickly to explain to Leanna as he rushes beside Vincent as his knight friend unloads on the Beringel "Alright, let's do this!" He says preparing to fight, but holds back from using his semblance for now.

(In all honesty I'm likely going to do away with the PM system. It takes far too much effort, and is pointless without multiple PCs. also just going to transfer verbatim rather than editing for grammatical correctness )

Simon lands a successful blow with his axe, and Leanna follows suit embedding her sickle into the grimm's flesh before ripping it out once more (Crit). Vencent swings at the massive grimm only to hive his sword deflected one one of the grimm's armor like plated. Rodger tries to slash the beast, but is swiftly countered with a large hairy fist sending him flying back.
"Ha, didn't even feel that!" He says as he springs to his feet
No, but I did." Vincent calls back, that thing hits like a battering ram!"

"Alright, I guess we will just have to finish this quickly...I was going to save my full strength for later in case there were more Grimm, but your going DOWN!" Simon shouts as he once again activates his semblance letting out a war cry as he is surrounded in a burning red aura and rushes the Beringel to try and get a big hit with his axe.
Your aura flairs to life, but you can start to feel it taking a toll on your body, and as you swing your axe at the grimm he manages to move out of the way, and he tries to deliver a blow of his own, only to miss as well. Leane takes this opportunity to deliver a firm slash to the grimm. Rodger also slices the grimm with his cutlass, causing it to recoil just out of reach of Vincent's sword.

As the Grimm recoiled back Simon lunges forward once again and attempts to unleash a point-blank shot on his target.
You shot lands a clean hit on the grimm (X2 damage for shotgun)knocking it back just in time for Leanne to catch it's foot with the sickle.The grimm off balance swings at Vincent who is closing in, only for Vencent lind his blow first, knocking it to the ground at rodger's feet, who proceeds to unleash a point blank shot to the grimm's face with his blunderbuss. (Crit. +X2 damage for shot gun like weapon.)

Seeing everyone advance on the Grim Simon does the same, lunging forward or another melee attack.
The grimm quickly finds it's way back to it's feet. You catch it with your axe, but it in turn catches you in it's grasp, and throws you at Leanna who with a small yelp of surprise ducks you not taking any damage herself. Leanna took the chance once she regained her composure jumped in for another attack slashing the grimm. Vincent caught off guard by the grimm throwing someone missed the opening, and the grimm blocked his attack, leaving it open for rodger to slip his cutlass under the beast's armpit (Crit.)

With that a large nevermore crashes through the trees flying feet over everyone's heads Shooting featers down at seemingly nothing it falls to the ground as it begins to circle back coming to a stop between you, and your prey. It raises it's head, and lets a pained screech, before a glowing yellow beam shoots you of the woods, piercing the bird's neck killing it. Tina walks wout from the tree another "arrow" knocked, and ready. once it begins to disperse she stoppes channeling her aura through her arrow turning it back into a small arrow head. When she sees you she smiles and waves. It's only when she makes this friendly action that you realize that the grimm managed to escape.

Leanne chuckles once she realizes the grimm is gone. "Why you two jinxed us! None of the grimm escaped us till you teamed up with us." She says playing at being upset. "You owe us like 10 new grimm!"
Tina looks at the woods where the Grimm seems to have run away. "You lost one?" She says quietly. Jake, Tommy, and Eveline come out of the woods behind Tina.
"Did you get it?" Jake asked catching his breath, receiving only a nod from Tina who turned her head only about half way keeping one eye on your group. "Oh, thank goodness it would have been embarrassing if one got away." Prompting a head shake from Tina, a guffaw from Rodger, and a snickering Leanna to turn her back in a vain attempt to hide her laughter.

[Drack]

Simon sighs once he catches his breath turning slightly red in the face as it becomes apparent that the multiple escaping Grimm has made a joke out of him and Vincent. "Well, I guess I'll just have to move to the next plan...hit them even harder." He says with a grumble as he reloads his weapon.

[Nexous]

"Really? I was thinking more of striking from the shadows, and hitting them in their vitals." Leanna says.
"I kinda have a middle ground strategy of those two." Rodger chimes in. "Hit them when they're unaware, and hitting them so hard, that they go down, before they really have a chance to counter."
Vincent then offers his opinion. " I'm with Simon I like a more straight up fight."

Tina seemed to be trying to follow the conversation, looking a little confused. "I suggest you come up with a strategy that you can all agree too. For example we generally surround the grim as best as we can. I come up from the front Tina flanks it. Tommy picks a side he can get a good angle on it from a safe distance, and Whitney usually provides support wherever needed."
Tina then points toward the cave. "Goal?" she chirps.

[Drack]

Once the others state their opinions Simon nods "Okay, I think we can find a compromise here...Me and Vincent can storm in the cave after the Beringel so it doesn't get any more time to recover, and You and Rodger can sneak in while we have it distracted and go for a sneak attack and back us up in case there are more Grimm." He then listens to Tina as she gives her thoughts, and once she asks if the cave is the 'goal' he nods. "Yeah, that is what we think anyways."
